My birthday's on the 16th so I was thinking of doing something that Saturday, probably meeting at the Green Room around 7 or 8 and then heading to Lee's Palace around 10. I should have CDs then too.

There will be a York Composers Night at the Music Gallery on Apr 22. I'll have something to present there, hopefully an electroacoustic piece using guitar samples, maybe with live prepared guitar.

sundar subramanian (sundar), Thursday, 27 March 2003 01:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Haha sundar, I'm older than you by a day! Green Room sounds good...if the weather holds they may even have the patio open by then! I hope everyone else plans to come ... I think I still owe a couple of beers.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Thursday, 27 March 2003 02:02 (twenty-three years ago)

I would very much like to be there, but alas... I hope you all have very much fun.

Bryan (Bryan), Thursday, 27 March 2003 02:08 (twenty-three years ago)

Yo. If the fates allow, I'm there.

Kim (Kim), Thursday, 27 March 2003 03:18 (twenty-three years ago)

For some reason that post made me think of "I Will Be There" by Glass Tiger, which is now stuck in my head,.

sundar subramanian (sundar), Thursday, 27 March 2003 03:33 (twenty-three years ago)

(Please do not boycott because of this.)

sundar subramanian (sundar), Thursday, 27 March 2003 03:34 (twenty-three years ago)

Provided I am not still thought of as a rogue I will show my face. Though the service in the Green Room set a new low last time Im not sure we cant find a better place.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 27 March 2003 07:01 (twenty-three years ago)

Though I can't be there, happy (early) birthday, Sundar!

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Thursday, 27 March 2003 17:47 (twenty-three years ago)

And to Sean as well, even if you are a bastard!

Bryan (Bryan), Thursday, 27 March 2003 17:48 (twenty-three years ago)

Hey, thanks. Even bastards have birthdays.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 00:40 (twenty-three years ago)

By the way, if anyone brings me a present I'll be mad. Not that anyone was going to.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 00:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Of course, I'll probably be bringing Sundar another great $1 LP for his birthday, hopefully one with a gatefold cover and a weird tripped-out Roger Dean painting. Even better if there's a poster inside!

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 00:41 (twenty-three years ago)

[deleted by request]

Bryan, Tuesday, 1 April 2003 00:56 (twenty-three years ago)

Thats, it, your both getting used cds as I see fit.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 01:13 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh crud, I'm scared now. Maybe I'll luck out and it'll be a copy of Martika's Chicken. Er, Kitchen.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 01:17 (twenty-three years ago)

Hey I found Great White North The Album for Julio so I got a tough standard to beat already.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 01:20 (twenty-three years ago)

sean and sundar were born a day apart? i'm frightened.

dyson (dyson), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 01:45 (twenty-three years ago)

(Actually I think I probably have several years on Sundar)

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 02:06 (twenty-three years ago)

(I'm the crotchety oldster of the Toronto ILX group in fact)

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 02:06 (twenty-three years ago)

Well of those that show up to FAPs at least.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 02:07 (twenty-three years ago)

Sundar and I have the same birthday.

WTF.

Millar (Millar), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 02:10 (twenty-three years ago)

Er I mean 'AWESOME'

Millar (Millar), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 02:11 (twenty-three years ago)

i'm still frightened

dyson (dyson), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 02:16 (twenty-three years ago)

HEY. Something just occurred to me: this is a long weekend, and we sort of had plans here at Casa Carruthers to go out and do a day trip out of the city, maybe an overnighter...unfortunately, that would mean that I may not be attending on the evening of the 19th.

The night before, though, there's a 90 minute presentation with Mark Hosler of Negativland, at the Innis Town Hall (on U of T campus) at 7pm--part of the images festival, this one on culture jamming and Negativland's history in such. It's $12 at the door. Would anyone be interested in moving the FAP to the 18th and making the Negativland thing part of the evening? It'd be a short walk to the Green Room afterwards, or some other appropriate drinking place.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Saturday, 12 April 2003 01:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Hrm, well, I'm still kinda leaning towards the Saturday but my mind is open. I'm not really up to paying $12 for that event.

sundar subramanian (sundar), Saturday, 12 April 2003 03:50 (twenty-three years ago)

Sorry for being so tiresome, Sundar. As stated earlier in this thread (maybe the post that was deleted?), I am sending you a fantastic b'day present which should make up for it.

Bryan (Bryan), Saturday, 12 April 2003 04:24 (twenty-three years ago)

Sean, dude, he invited you like a MONTH in advance. You rude bastard!

Kim (Kim), Saturday, 12 April 2003 21:44 (twenty-three years ago)

(I'm probably flexible on the date - my schedule is pretty wide open nowadays)

Kim (Kim), Saturday, 12 April 2003 21:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah, I realized too late that the other one was planned even EARLIER, and I wasn't bothering to cross-reference in my head because both were too far in advance for them to really seem real. I'm just being selfish...you should leave it as it was on the 19th and if I don't make it that's my own tough luck, and I'll arrange to get Sundar's fabulous present to him on another day.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Sunday, 13 April 2003 01:13 (twenty-three years ago)

Saturday would be better for me, I think. 7 at Green Room?

sundar subramanian (sundar), Sunday, 13 April 2003 15:11 (twenty-three years ago)

That Negativeland speech is probably the last place I wanna be. Either day works for me.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Monday, 14 April 2003 13:49 (twenty-three years ago)

i'd be kinda interested to see negativeland. but i don't feel like paying $ for it.

dyson (dyson), Monday, 14 April 2003 13:56 (twenty-three years ago)

Okay, okay, it was just a thought. Nebber mind. I'll try to make it on Saturday if I'm in town then yo.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Monday, 14 April 2003 14:55 (twenty-three years ago)

(Just to be clear, it's totally on Saturday the 19th at 7 now.)

sundar subramanian (sundar), Monday, 14 April 2003 17:03 (twenty-three years ago)

what is¿

dyson (dyson), Monday, 14 April 2003 17:45 (twenty-three years ago)

The FAP/birthday party is on Sat Apr 19 at 7 pm at the Green Room.

(BTW that beach picture on the other thread was really cute, Kim.)

sundar subramanian (sundar), Monday, 14 April 2003 19:27 (twenty-three years ago)

(reminder)

sundar subramanian (sundar), Friday, 18 April 2003 19:22 (twenty-three years ago)

do you like cute fuzzy bunnies Sundar?

Kim (Kim), Friday, 18 April 2003 20:00 (twenty-three years ago)

To eat, you mean?

sundar subramanian (sundar), Friday, 18 April 2003 20:07 (twenty-three years ago)

yes. i mean no.

Kim (Kim), Friday, 18 April 2003 20:13 (twenty-three years ago)

Hey - Green Room, upstairs or downstairs?

Kim (Kim), Saturday, 19 April 2003 04:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Thanks everyone so much for coming and for bringing such nice presents. I'm listening to the Voivod album now.

sundar subramanian (sundar), Sunday, 20 April 2003 06:15 (twenty-three years ago)

(And thanks a lot for the Roger Dean book, Bryan. I'm really floored that you'd mail something like that. It seems great so far. )

sundar subramanian (sundar), Sunday, 20 April 2003 06:24 (twenty-three years ago)

Hey cool, did you like it? I bought it before seeing on another thread that you'd heard the last track and thought it was garbage stadium rock or something.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Sunday, 20 April 2003 13:05 (twenty-three years ago)

You're welcome, Sundar. Don't eat too many pickled eggs while reading it or you'll hallucinate for sure. I hope you guys had fun.

Bryan (Bryan), Sunday, 20 April 2003 14:05 (twenty-three years ago)

I'd want to listen to the Voivod a little more before making a judgment. It's definitely more of a straight rock album. Some of it seems kind of catchy.

The 7" edit of "Come Sail Away" is better than the full-length version on Classics. It ends at the point where I usually hit the skip button anyway. The B-side is utter lunacy - completely demented vocals, almost painful keyboard arpeggios, a shred solo.

Did any of the pictures come out? Did you stay out much later, Kim and Zac?

sundar subramanian (sundar), Monday, 21 April 2003 03:28 (twenty-three years ago)

(But it was definitely nice of you to buy the album, Sean. Thanks.)

sundar subramanian (sundar), Monday, 21 April 2003 03:36 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah - we stayed at the Velvet a little while longer, but then they turned the lights on and kicked everyone out, then insane hunger made me eat at McDonalds. The VU was too smoky I guess too because I lost my voice almost as soon as we left. It's still not back to normal actually, but raspy voices on chicks are hott, right?

Kim (Kim), Monday, 21 April 2003 10:05 (twenty-three years ago)

[removed by request - S]

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Monday, 21 April 2003 13:39 (twenty-three years ago)

I have no clue why that huge space is there at the top of the pictures; for some reason I can't even try to edit it out at the moment. Schnuts.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Monday, 21 April 2003 13:50 (twenty-three years ago)

the pic of noodles behind the glowing bunny is a great shot, sean.

dyson (dyson), Monday, 21 April 2003 14:09 (twenty-three years ago)

You people were having fun, you were. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 21 April 2003 14:24 (twenty-three years ago)

I really wasn't as high as I look in most of those (or at all). Heh, none of the non-ILx people got caught in any photos.

sundar subramanian (sundar), Monday, 21 April 2003 15:45 (twenty-three years ago)

You can see Heather's back in the one of dyson playing patticake on Noodles' head. Also the one right next to it features people at the next table, in the background.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Monday, 21 April 2003 15:49 (twenty-three years ago)

haha. so nice :-)

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Monday, 21 April 2003 17:29 (twenty-three years ago)

For future reference, Sean, like most normal people writing html, occasionaly hit return inbetween your < td> and < /td> tags. Thanks to the new featurs that inserted a < BR> tag. I have no idea why that went before the table, but when I deleted them the space went away.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Monday, 21 April 2003 22:22 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh God - those are the worst pictures of me EVER. By the way, if Noodles really wanted to grope himself, I wouldn't *dream* of preventing him.

Kim (Kim), Monday, 21 April 2003 22:34 (twenty-three years ago)

Those are the worst pictures of you ever?!

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 22 April 2003 02:12 (twenty-three years ago)

awwwww the pics are gone

dyson (dyson), Tuesday, 22 April 2003 02:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah, someone asked that their pics be taken down so I just removed em all because otherwise it wouldn't make much sense. Plus, everyone seemed unhappy about em anyhow so screw it. I didn't want to make anyone mad so I deleted der post.

By the way, I dunno why the whole thing wound up so wacky, because I didn't specifically put any carriage returns in there, everything should have been pretty clean when I made it. Maybe it was a wacky paste job, because I didn't proof it. It was weirder that ILX wouldn't let me edit the code afterwards.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Tuesday, 22 April 2003 03:07 (twenty-three years ago)

Aw...

Kim (Kim), Tuesday, 22 April 2003 09:59 (twenty-three years ago)

(I was just joking about looking high. I wasn't really unhappy or anything for the record.)

sundar subramanian (sundar), Tuesday, 22 April 2003 14:52 (twenty-three years ago)

i blame sundar

dyson (dyson), Tuesday, 22 April 2003 14:57 (twenty-three years ago)

You really looked totally high though.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 22 April 2003 15:01 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah I know.

sundar subramanian (sundar), Tuesday, 22 April 2003 15:05 (twenty-three years ago)

haha.

don't know what Kim is talking abt. you all looked kewl.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Tuesday, 22 April 2003 15:07 (twenty-three years ago)

(And the only reason I'm only wearing an undershirt in most of them is because it was really hot.)

sundar subramanian (sundar), Tuesday, 22 April 2003 15:08 (twenty-three years ago)

I thought it was because you had thug passion.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 22 April 2003 15:14 (twenty-three years ago)

It was actually all the bunny luv I think, Ally.

But Sundar, wait, when the hell did you take off your shirt? And you are so lying - it was not EVEN hot. I wore a sweater all night and was just fine. Show off.

Everyone else looked great! Especially the rockstar pic. I almost always hate pictures of myself, but no worries. They're still fun and I don't mind them being posted.

Kim (Kim), Tuesday, 22 April 2003 23:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Kim, yr pics are great, though I did notice the discrepancy between your turtleneck and Thug Passion's insistance that it was "hot" in the bar. Perhaps you were in two different bars?

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 05:56 (twenty-three years ago)

heh. I like these nicknames the Toronto ILXors are getting. Thug Passion, Stinkypants, and The Rouge Monitor. FEAR THEM.

Kim (Kim), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 09:54 (twenty-three years ago)

They sound like an indie rock Village People!

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 12:43 (twenty-three years ago)

the rouge monitor¿ who the hell is that¿

dyson (dyson), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 15:03 (twenty-three years ago)

It's not you, cos in my mind you're AC/DC.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 15:07 (twenty-three years ago)

Noodles I think. I actually called him a rogue though, not a rouge, though that's funnier.

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 15:22 (twenty-three years ago)

According to Kim I spelt it 'rouge monitor' instead of 'rogue moderator' on a thread somewhere.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 16:30 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes, I think that's true. Great example of where a typo can create something MUCH better than the original. I'm still sorry about that, by the way.

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 16:32 (twenty-three years ago)

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 16:44 (twenty-three years ago)

I won't/haven't. I'll still buy you drinks when I next visit Toranna, though.

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 16:45 (twenty-three years ago)

What about my scooter ride, Jack?!

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 17:19 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh it'll be so much FUN!

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 17:20 (twenty-three years ago)

ha ha - the ac/dc haunts me till this very day.
any of you guys recall our rendition of a certain ac/dc tune on our way to the velvit?

dyson (dyson), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 17:24 (twenty-three years ago)

rouge monitor

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 17:30 (twenty-three years ago)

For a second I had no clue of what you were talking about.
Then I remebered and nearly broke out laughing in the office.
But Sean's post reminds me why I shouldn't be writing things while at work.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 17:36 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't remember that at all, dyson. Was I involved?

sundar subramanian (sundar), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 20:17 (twenty-three years ago)

Gack [mod note: probably best not to click on this from work]

sundar subramanian (sundar), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 20:20 (twenty-three years ago)

You've been.... Sundarstruck!

Kim (Kim), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 20:57 (twenty-three years ago)

they've said on the news that Toronto could become a 'closed city' because of the SARS virus :O whats it like over there?

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 21:03 (twenty-three years ago)

It's totally normal. Don't believe the hype!

Kim (Kim), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 21:04 (twenty-three years ago)

*cough cough*

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 21:11 (twenty-three years ago)

Its a little tense but its business as normal now. Chinatown and the TTC were really empty a week or so ago but they are closer to normal now.

As Chuck D and Kim said "Don't Believe The Hype"

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 23 April 2003 23:48 (twenty-three years ago)

Free trip to Toronto?

http://www.jetsgo.net/en/toronto_pop.htm

felicity (felicity), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 18:33 (twenty-three years ago)

Right, who in this bitch wants to go on a weekender to Toronto?

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 18:36 (twenty-three years ago)

That is an awesome deal, I wished I lived in NY so I could take advantage of this.

Nicole (Nicole), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 18:38 (twenty-three years ago)

Trouble is, this weekend I can't. Maybe we should go for your BURFday!

felicity (felicity), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 18:55 (twenty-three years ago)

You totally have to come to Toronto!

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 19:01 (twenty-three years ago)

This weekend is no good for me either because of school...we should definitely organize an exodus though, because WE CAN FINALLY DESTROY TORONTOeveryone in Toronto seems lovely!

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 19:01 (twenty-three years ago)

Air Canada has one-way flights to Toronto from here for $78. I WANNA COME TOO.

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 19:04 (twenty-three years ago)

ACH! $148 CDN ROUND TRIP.

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 19:06 (twenty-three years ago)

That's like $3US, right? < /Canadian jokes>

Seriously, I want to take advantage of this, we need to throw a big Escape from New York FAP. felicity, you will go?

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 19:08 (twenty-three years ago)

Cmonnnnnnnn down!

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 19:08 (twenty-three years ago)

CDN$214 with taxes and other charges = US$148

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 19:11 (twenty-three years ago)

Mothers Day FAP? Oh no, I have the ph34r!

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 19:12 (twenty-three years ago)

NO! It should be the weekend of the 17th!

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 19:15 (twenty-three years ago)

Damm, Im almost willing to take the train to Ottawa just to fly back to Toronto.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 19:16 (twenty-three years ago)

I can't go the weekend of the 17th.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 19:19 (twenty-three years ago)

Aw, I want this to be when I'm around for Canada Day and all that. :-( But out of curiosity, are the rates low in general anyway for early July...?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 19:27 (twenty-three years ago)

Why Canada Day? Are you coming up for Edgefest?

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 19:30 (twenty-three years ago)

Well, Canada Day (July 1st) would be an all-around better time for me anyway. I never thought I would've seen a seat sale like this on a holiday weekend (Victoria Day long weekend), so I wouldn't be surprised if there was a sale then as well.

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 19:31 (twenty-three years ago)

Not that anyone should give a crap about whether or not I'm gonna go given my woefully inadequate Photoshop skillz!

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 19:33 (twenty-three years ago)

No, Mr. Noodles, I'll just be around! I was thinking of maybe taking the whole week off...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 19:34 (twenty-three years ago)

OMG I want to go.

Mary (Mary), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 19:38 (twenty-three years ago)

Just don't hit any of us for our seal clubbing ways this time. Or I'll bring around some newfie gangstas.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 19:43 (twenty-three years ago)

Damn, Bryan, I want you to go, what the hell?

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 19:53 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm sure we'll have a meet-up sometime. Is July 1st no good? It'll be prime scooter season then!

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 20:02 (twenty-three years ago)

That might work too. BUT I WANT TO GO NOW NOW NOW. I am all about instant gratification. I'm going to go reread the site more carefully to see the restrictions and times. Why am I telling you all this? Why don't I just get the information first and then post? I DON'T KNOW!

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 20:09 (twenty-three years ago)

So, wait, us girls, we'd have to book the day before we leave if I understand the website right?

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 20:19 (twenty-three years ago)

Because you're like me! I came so close to just booking a ticket it would BLOW YOUR FUCKING MIND, and NO ONE would've been there. I would've been sitting there at the Victory Cafe by myself, drinking bourbon, shouting VICTORY!, and no one would care.

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 20:21 (twenty-three years ago)

No, dude, listen to me, I don't "come close" to doing things. I go the fuck for it, kid. That's my whole M.O., much to the chagrin of everyone who's ever had the misfortune of hanging out with me quickly finds out.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 20:22 (twenty-three years ago)

You're my hero. Can we go looting and burning when we meet?

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 20:25 (twenty-three years ago)

Why else would I go to Toronto? No, only tea parties, fool.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 20:29 (twenty-three years ago)

You mean you go the fuck for it when drinking tea? Balls (ovaries?) out for the little cucumber sandwiches? Definitely gotta party with you!

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 20:35 (twenty-three years ago)

Okay, so I know I've only posted, like four times, but I'm Sean's friend from his old, secret life, and I'm going to be in Toronto in May, and I think you all seem like lovely people, and Bryan will tell you all that I'm reasonably nice, so, therefore, I am requesting a FAP on Friday, May 30th. Please and thank you.

Jodi (Celerina), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 21:20 (twenty-three years ago)

"His old, secret life"? It makes him sound like a double agent.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 21:42 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh no, I think I said too much. Sean never had a secret life. Never mind.

Jodi (Celerina), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 21:46 (twenty-three years ago)

Too late! My former KGB cohorts are already on the case! We've been looking for Pechenka for many years now.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 21:47 (twenty-three years ago)

well, take comfort, or dyscomfort, in the fact that i am still 99% unemployed and will be free to welcome any vistors to our awsome city and make sure they don't steal anything.

dyson (dyson), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 21:58 (twenty-three years ago)

except may 27th – i'm going to the prefuse/manitoba show. that night can be a free-for-all.

dyson (dyson), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 21:59 (twenty-three years ago)

Sean, "grandpa = gotta be home by 8 pm Sean? Secret life - no fucking waaaaayyyyyyy. ;)

Kim (Kim), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 23:12 (twenty-three years ago)

I love how Kim delurks for the first time in like three years to insult me for heading home after three beers even though we both agreed ahead of time that neither of us really could afford more than two tonight.

Besides, I had to get home to shave the carrot. Everybody knows that's what I do on Wednesday nights. Sheesh.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 23:53 (twenty-three years ago)

har har har - only a grandpa would spend only what he can "afford" ;)

Kim (Kim), Thursday, 1 May 2003 00:01 (twenty-three years ago)

Is shaving the carrot like spanking your inner moppet.

Carey (Carey), Thursday, 1 May 2003 00:05 (twenty-three years ago)

Exactly like it - whatever that is.

Kim (Kim), Thursday, 1 May 2003 00:08 (twenty-three years ago)

Dave M. (rotten03), Thursday, 1 May 2003 00:09 (twenty-three years ago)

Of course - I have nothing else to do. Toronto FAP - every weekend from now until September.

Kim (Kim), Thursday, 1 May 2003 00:11 (twenty-three years ago)

har har har - only a grandpa would spend only what he can "afford" ;)

I remember the day when I was cool, hip and with it.

It was a Thursday.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Thursday, 1 May 2003 00:55 (twenty-three years ago)

Good lord, I can feel the hangovers already.

Three beers? Don't you know shes gotta work tomorrow?

Suburban Noodles, Thursday, 1 May 2003 01:13 (twenty-three years ago)

Three beers, p'shaw! At least with grandpa, I actually make it to work tomorrow. =)

Kim (Kim), Thursday, 1 May 2003 01:18 (twenty-three years ago)

You rouge bastard.

Kim (Kim), Thursday, 1 May 2003 01:18 (twenty-three years ago)

Did you take the day off preparing for this wild night out or something?

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 1 May 2003 01:30 (twenty-three years ago)

Nope - that's saved for next week when we stay out until 8:30, and get coffee afterward! Woo!

Kim (Kim), Thursday, 1 May 2003 01:36 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't know if any of the Second Cups are open that late, might have to take him to the 24 hour one on the waterfront.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 1 May 2003 01:38 (twenty-three years ago)

Whatever.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Thursday, 1 May 2003 01:45 (twenty-three years ago)

you still up gramps?

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 1 May 2003 01:47 (twenty-three years ago)

Not that it matters.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Thursday, 1 May 2003 01:48 (twenty-three years ago)

Such a lot of ageism going on around here. Just because I keep my teef in a jar doesn't mean I'm worfleff.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Thursday, 1 May 2003 01:55 (twenty-three years ago)

as long as you can still chew those carrotts its all good

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 1 May 2003 01:57 (twenty-three years ago)

The bear's devotion is so great that he chews the carrots for Sean and then feeds him like a mother bird does with her babies.

Nicole (Nicole), Thursday, 1 May 2003 02:07 (twenty-three years ago)

sean lives with a bear now¿

dyson (dyson), Thursday, 1 May 2003 02:18 (twenty-three years ago)

dj grizz is his home boy, he's fucking large, yo.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 1 May 2003 02:19 (twenty-three years ago)

I'll be out of town the weekend of May 10. Any other weekend in May seems OK for me so far.

sundar subramanian (sundar), Thursday, 1 May 2003 05:09 (twenty-three years ago)

thanks to dyson, i feel a strange urge to read this thread upside down.

erm... maybe there'll be some gig that people want to go to in June? i must complete my attend-an-FAP-in-two-countries-in-one-month mission (NYC + T.DOT = fun).

Dave M. (rotten03), Thursday, 1 May 2003 06:07 (twenty-three years ago)

just 2¿
cummon man, mexico isn't too far¡

dyson (dyson), Thursday, 1 May 2003 06:19 (twenty-three years ago)

Ain't you got no love for Iceland?

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 1 May 2003 13:19 (twenty-three years ago)

that actually is closer.

dyson (dyson), Thursday, 1 May 2003 14:34 (twenty-three years ago)

France is even closer then Iceland, or two small islands in their possession.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 2 May 2003 00:17 (twenty-three years ago)

Z, maybe you should post while still on your meds - you'll make even less sense than usual. ;)

Kim (Kim), Friday, 2 May 2003 00:19 (twenty-three years ago)

make that SHOULDN'T... damn! Are you contagious?

Kim (Kim), Friday, 2 May 2003 00:28 (twenty-three years ago)

No really, two small islands which I won't attempt to spell while in my happy place lie in the Gulf of St Lawrence.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 2 May 2003 00:29 (twenty-three years ago)

Saint Pierre et Miquelon! (This is the advantage of being a grandpa, knowing geography.)

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Friday, 2 May 2003 02:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah, we should definitely do my birthday there, then. Fantastique.

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 2 May 2003 03:31 (twenty-three years ago)

Does that mean you're all coming the one weekend I'll be away? Hopefully I'll catch you in NY later on.

sundar subramanian (sundar), Friday, 2 May 2003 05:17 (twenty-three years ago)

St Pierre is a fucking trip! I went there in seventh grade with my French Immersion class and my dad (who was there on business at the same time) got me drunk for the first time! They have a house made entirely out of wooden Cutty Sark cases from prohibition when they used to take the bottles out, sail them over to Newfoundland and leave the cases on the dock, which people used to build houses! When ships used to crash against their shores, they would help everybody to safety, then go back and take all the stuff being sent overseas, so for a while in the 50s everybody in St. Pierre had a jukebox in their basement and used to ride around town on John Deere tractors!

Dave M. (rotten03), Friday, 2 May 2003 05:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Being correct has nothing to do with whether or not he will make any sense. (the existence of dem dere Frenchie islands was never in question) /mock

Z, how are you doing today?

Kim (Kim), Friday, 2 May 2003 10:29 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't think we're going at all now

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 2 May 2003 12:52 (twenty-three years ago)

Which, you know, is just as well seeing as I probably won't be able to make it until July. Wouldn't be much fucking point of going if I'm not there is there? ;)

Bryan (Bryan), Friday, 2 May 2003 13:03 (twenty-three years ago)

Z, how are you doing today?
Im about to make the big move from Jello to chicken noodle soup.

I don't think we're going at all now

Why the fuck not? If I threw in some of my left over codiene would that help?

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 2 May 2003 14:29 (twenty-three years ago)

If you can score vicadins, I'm so there. I might still come. I'm just trying to lower expectations for when I inevitably forget about it by accident.

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 2 May 2003 14:52 (twenty-three years ago)

What do i have to do to myself to get whatever vicadins are?

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 2 May 2003 15:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Throw yourself at the ground and not miss.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 2 May 2003 15:31 (twenty-three years ago)

I think I should leave that up to Kim.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 2 May 2003 15:54 (twenty-three years ago)

Tell the doctor you are in pain. LOTS of pain. And you need Vicadins.

Actually, I hate those type of things. I refuse to take painkillers. Which really isn't working out too spiffy for me when I got so much pain that I'm vomiting.

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 2 May 2003 16:01 (twenty-three years ago)

Wha...? Hey!! I'm approaching two entire weeks - accident free. The FAP bruise is nearly gone even. This is some kind of record.

Kim (Kim), Friday, 2 May 2003 20:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Which, you know, is just as well seeing as I probably won't be able to make it until July. Wouldn't be much fucking point of going if I'm not there is there? ;)
-- Bryan (bryan...) (webmail), May 2nd, 2003 3:03 AM.

Hold on just a second - who IS this person? Give us back the real Bryan!

Kim (Kim), Friday, 2 May 2003 20:17 (twenty-three years ago)

On second hand... let's keep this one.

Kim (Kim), Friday, 2 May 2003 20:18 (twenty-three years ago)

If you make it to a month you might just get that t shirt.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 2 May 2003 20:18 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah but if we get her the shirt now we'll definitely have to invest in two sets of numbers.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Friday, 2 May 2003 20:23 (twenty-three years ago)

Gotta fill up all that space somehow.

Kim (Kim), Friday, 2 May 2003 20:27 (twenty-three years ago)

we could just get a really big 1 and 0 and go by monthes.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 2 May 2003 20:32 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah but people would wonder why Kim's shirt always said "0" then.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Friday, 2 May 2003 20:39 (twenty-three years ago)

Heh.

Kim (Kim), Friday, 2 May 2003 20:44 (twenty-three years ago)

There is no way in hell you are clumsier than I am if it makes you feel any better. I fall down the stairs at work at least twice a week.

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 2 May 2003 21:48 (twenty-three years ago)

It could be dangerous if you do some to T.O. then Ally. People won't even know where anyone is - what with us spending so much time on the floor.

(g'head and quote *that* one out of context Mr. Carruthers)

Kim (Kim), Friday, 2 May 2003 22:02 (twenty-three years ago)

make that "come to"... fuck. See I can't even control my HANDS here...

Kim (Kim), Friday, 2 May 2003 22:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Kim's outta control once again.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 2 May 2003 22:18 (twenty-three years ago)

and I think I like it...

Kim (Kim), Friday, 2 May 2003 22:19 (twenty-three years ago)

Hey, its better then the 'they all lez up' joke you left yourself open to.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 2 May 2003 22:21 (twenty-three years ago)

Did I? ooooohhh nooooo....

Kim (Kim), Friday, 2 May 2003 22:24 (twenty-three years ago)

It would make several lurkers heads implode just trying to fathom it.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 2 May 2003 22:33 (twenty-three years ago)

Lurkers? Try the regulars!

Ally (mlescaut), Saturday, 3 May 2003 01:36 (twenty-three years ago)

Ally I still want to go! Do we drive or fly?

Mary (Mary), Wednesday, 7 May 2003 03:29 (twenty-three years ago)
