But the Sunday Express has reacted furiously to the BBC's decision. It accused the BBC of "grossly over-reacting" and called on the corporation to reinstate the presenter immediately.
"The article was not a racist article and it was a rewrite of a previous article that appeared in April without complaint. The Sunday Express rewrote it during the Christmas period, but there was not one complaint before," said a spokesman.
"It was legalled by lawyers and there is absolutely no case to offer. The Sunday Express believes that the BBC is gagging free speech and is absolutely appalled."
why the hell are they re-writing old articles, is this because RKS is too tired and emotional/barking mad/insert other reason here to write new ones himself?

Once again an individual who states his opinion is jumped upon by the Politically correct brigade. We are now only allowed to express opinions in this country if it is the opinion of the view rather than the many. When will the BBC and the government finally sit up and listen to the average man and woman in this country, otherwise their will be segregation and a lack of education. Let's put some common sense thinking back in the UK. Well done Kilroy for expressing your views.Neil Armstrong, Newcastle-upon-Tyne

Disappointingly, he just seems to be plodding along:
How has Kilroy filled his days since 2009, when he left Brussels? “We’re very busy,” he says. “We travel a lot, go to the theatre, opera, ballet. Life’s been very full. I haven’t got enough time to do all the things I want to do.”

His third, Abduction, is better written than the others, but even more likely to require publishers who read it to be brought round with smelling salts. It deals with two parents framed as violent by a pair of hetero-hating lesbian social workers and have their children forcibly adopted as a result.

CLOSURE chronicles the gradual disintegration of a strong middle-class English woman’s family confronted with the social and economic pressures of contemporary Britain – a son fighting in Afghanistan, a husband sacked by a bank for whistle-blowing and contracting a terminal illness, a married daughter conducting an illicit affair, the business of her son-on-law collapsing, and her elderly and frail mother put in a residential home.
Its conclusion will surprise and shock.
CLOSURE is a searing critique of the state of Britain today – of its politics and, in particular, of the metropolitan political elite with its stifling culture of political correctness. It will be thoroughly enjoyed by all those who appreciate the sensitive dissection of complex emotions and sexual relationships.
Robert Kilroy-Silk has embarked on his fifth career. He has been an academic – a university lecturer in political philosophy – an MP (and MEP), a television presenter – of BBC’s Kilroy for eighteen years, a political columnist – The Times, The Daily Express and Time Out, and is now writing novels full time.
Reviewer STARQUESTER goes there:
Kilroy manages to serve up an adequately involving concoction of intrigue and surprises. Whilst not in the same class as his " History of Socialism since Marx"- an under appreciated work which should be given more recognition, his choice of subject matter is illuminating in relation to just how far he has come from his working class roots.

Ah the reviews
I have just finished reading this book by Robert Kilroy-Silk who was one of my most favourite presenters whilst on TV. I haven't heard much about him over the past few years and was excited and curious to know what type of novel he could have possibly written. It looks like this has been his first book on the Kindle and I only hope that he can give us some more from where this has come from. I loved it. A very awkward subject to tackle, Kilroy has written a blinder and according to the cover, is based on a true story, which makes it even more compelling.I knew he wouldn't let me down.

There’s beef!
IN October 1985, The Oxford Mail reported on a pair of seemingly innocuous backbench Labour MPs having a 'scuffle' in Parliament.'Astonished' colleagues watched on as one grabbed the other 'by the lapel' in a face-to-face row.The whole incident was probably overblown - one, Robert Kilroy-Silk, merely became a chat show host and the other is, well, favourite to be Britain's next prime minister. The row broke out when Mr Kilroy-Silk challenged Mr Corbyn 'over remarks he made during a weekend television programme', according to the now Labour leader."MPs looked on as the two appeared to be near to blows - although none was struck," the Mail added.Mr Corbyn said the pair came face-to-face while voting against a contentious transport bill.He explained: "Mr Kilroy-Silk came up to me and said he wanted a word. He grabbed me by the lapel. I thought he was overwrought and overexcited."Mr Kilroy-Silk did not comment.

"overwrought and overexcited" = "tired and emotional"

the contentious transport legislation was the deregulation and privatisation of buses i think

good reminder that the garbage blairite intake of the 90's wasn't really some new low for the PLP - just more of the same.
when I read it on my phone outside without glasses on it looked like "overweight and oversexed".

#TheMostImportantGraph, to which I have added an annotation. How bus use in major cities outside of London went from double the level of London to half the level of London. It's important. Lots of factors as well as forced deregulation, but deregulation was a factor. No doubt. pic.twitter.com/g4gc40MdlB— Tom Forth (@thomasforth) November 13, 2019

It also went down after 1984 as people in rural areas could no longer easily travel to their siblings' house.

having a little peruse of kilroy's work as a times columnist in the late 80s and he was already fully formed back then. hates ted heath and the eu, compares the emerging eu to the crumbling soviet block, literally has a column with the headline "Dark days, when white cannot be beautiful", and has this to say about Lady Osamor (who was rejected by the NEC from the shortlist of the vauxhall clp candidacy despite being nominated by numerous branches and affiliates, the place later going to kate fucking hoey):
If proof were needed of her ``unsuitability'', or that she is out of touch with most Labour voters, it was provided the Saturday before last when I interviewed her for Radio 4's Behind the Headlines. Martha did not know that the Cup Final was to be played that very day, still less who was playing. That was strange, to say the least, given the media attention it had received after the Hillsborough tragedy. More to the point, it is extraordinary that someone who aspires to be a Labour MP, to represent working people, should demonstrate such an ignorance of their national game. Whatever else she may be, she cannot claim to be a woman of ``the people''. Not of those who live in Liverpool, Birmingham, Preston, Huddersfield or Leeds, she can't.
