fancy a bbq in queens?

this is the thread where nyc-area posters plan to eat loads at pearson's barbecue, located in the back of legends sports bar in queens. anyone up for this on saturday?
vegetarians, fear not - there's plenty of sides, including the world's best onion rings, to enjoy.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 01:59 (twenty-two years ago)

maybe--I was thinking of restarting the Roadhouse thread though to see if people still wanted to do that; could we do both? I might have some friends in town to take advantage of my shortterm two apartment situation so I was going to drag 'em out.

Allyzay, Wednesday, 28 January 2004 02:04 (twenty-two years ago)

time-wise, earlier is better for me b/c i have to go to a bday party late night. not sure how this ties in with the roadhouse plans, but hopefully things can work out.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 02:24 (twenty-two years ago)

roadhouse Sat. shows = 5:30 and 9 p.m.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 02:25 (twenty-two years ago)

seems like something could be worked around those times.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 02:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Awesome. I'm down for either/or. Though it'll probably involve hiking through mountains of snow.

Allyzay, Wednesday, 28 January 2004 02:32 (twenty-two years ago)

I may be in Philly, so I probably won't make it. Although I've heard good things about Pearson's, would love to go another time.

hstencil, Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:15 (twenty-two years ago)

This Saturday? 21st January? Maybe! The current plan (barring a hotel reservation disaster) is to arrive in NYC on Saturday afternoon about 4pm or so.

the river fleet, Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:17 (twenty-two years ago)

if kate's there, then i am there.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:19 (twenty-two years ago)

don't go to philly, stence. we have the onion rings of the gods right here in the metro area.
anyway, yes - the 21st, and definitely after 4pm although going on the early side - like 6-6.30- wouldn't be a bad idea to avoid dinner rush.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:20 (twenty-two years ago)

the 31st, i think?

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:20 (twenty-two years ago)

oh, duh. yes. the 31st.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:21 (twenty-two years ago)

sorry, lauren, the ladyfriend has to pay rent on the condo plus we need a change of scenery. Also, bbq restaurants are bumming me out majorly right now, I want to go again sometime when I'm in a better mood.

hstencil, Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:22 (twenty-two years ago)

ok. i suppose.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:23 (twenty-two years ago)

i.e. I'm not going to be working after all, now. I have the worst fucking luck.

hstencil, Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:26 (twenty-two years ago)

6 or 6:30 would work for me and Kate I hope you can make it!!! That's plenty of time to get back for a 9pm show I think? If anyone actually wants to do both (I mean it's cool, we can just go see Roadhouse ourselves on Fri, don't anyone feel obligated)

Allyzay, Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:26 (twenty-two years ago)

hstencil just doesn't want to meet me, ever. Sigh. How quickly he forgets! Wah!

x-post... Ally, I was waiting till I confirmed my Greyhound and hotel reservations before I started making plans, but this pretty much clinches it. I am so there. I heart Queens! (Wait, what part of Queens is it in?)

the river fleet, Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:28 (twenty-two years ago)

rad! that sounds like the beginning of a plan. hopefully the weather won't be an issue.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:29 (twenty-two years ago)

actually kate I'll prolly be back Saturday night, just don't know if I'll be able to make it out to Queens. However, if anyone wants to get drinks afterwards at, say, Daddy's, I'd be up for that.

hstencil, Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:29 (twenty-two years ago)

i thought it was in woodside, but the address on citysearch says jackson heights... it's at 35th ave & 71st street, in any case.

xpost - YES! DADDY'S!!! i have to head out to wmsburg anyway later on.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Jeanne Fury lives right above Daddy's!

M Matos (M Matos), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:31 (twenty-two years ago)

oh, wow. i've probably blocked the entrance to her building by smoking in the doorway.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Jeanne Fury lives right above Daddy's!

Whooo! Let's all go stalk her! ;-)

jody (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:32 (twenty-two years ago)

she does? That's awesome! Totally missed going there on Saturday, so I made up for it by being there from open (5 PM) 'til about 11. Scored 11 million on Simpsons pinball, too.

hstencil, Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:33 (twenty-two years ago)

we can get sauced and throw pebbles at her window, then serenade her with "i love you truly, dear."

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:34 (twenty-two years ago)

No stalking anyone, please. In fact, maybe I shouldn't have posted to this thread. Oh Christ, I can't swing a dead cat in NYC without hitting a psychotic ex boyfriend, what have I done?

the river fleet, Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Haha join the club!

Allyzay, Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Jeanne Fury is not your psychotic ex-boyfriend, though I'm sure she'd be honored to be thought of as such.

M Matos (M Matos), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:38 (twenty-two years ago)

more about roadhouse, if you haven't already read the thread

why i love new york city again

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:39 (twenty-two years ago)

However, Sanford Santacroce of Gaigin-A-Go-Go, if you google this, please please please feel free to come, you're not psychotic at all, in fact, maybe I should just email you and tell you to come along...

the river fleet, Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:40 (twenty-two years ago)

DAMN IT WHY DID I MOVE TO SEATTLE?!?!?!

M Matos (M Matos), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:40 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, more simspons pinball with lauren and hstencil!

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:40 (twenty-two years ago)

barbecued kielbasa!! hoo boy.

jody (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh well, I left my blonde mullet wig at home, so no Roadhouse. Sorry!

the river fleet, Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:41 (twenty-two years ago)

:`(

M Matos (M Matos), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:41 (twenty-two years ago)

babci didn't make no bbQ kielbasa. but she should've! it's all good.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 04:42 (twenty-two years ago)

DAMN IT WHY DIDN'T I STAY IN NYC?!?!?!?!

Elvis Telecom (Chris Barrus), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 06:31 (twenty-two years ago)

This sounds really fun. And Kate, I hope everything works out so that you can be there.

Mary (Mary), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 12:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, we have to dig ourselves out from this snowstorm first! (As I'm sure you all do, too.)

My mum just had an outburst of "YOU'RE NOT REALLY GOING TO MEET RANDOM LUNATICS FROM THE INTERNET ARE YOU?!?!? YOU'RE GOING TO BE KILLED AND YOUR BODY DUMPED IN QUEENS!!!"

She has no idea what my social life in London is like, I guess. ;-)

What subway station is this place nearest? And would some kind soul like to meet me at the subway and guide me, because I have lost my Hagstrom and my street knowledge of Queens has been completely pushed out of my head by memorising London bus routes... pretty please with sugar on top!?

the river fleet, Wednesday, 28 January 2004 14:49 (twenty-two years ago)

the bus will prob. pull in at port authority, yes? maybe an ILXor can wait for you there.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 15:30 (twenty-two years ago)

will you be staying downtown? i'm trying to rally a bbq-loving pal with a car to drive out so depending on where you are this might be a possibility. even with a map that part of queens can be irritating to navigate.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 15:47 (twenty-two years ago)

How about: could Mary or Felicity somehow collect the Kate? Her mum will relax if someone K recognises comes to fetch them.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 15:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I have just booked hotel so I need to get from Port Authority to there with my luggage - prob. taxi, depending on suitcase situation - before I go to Queens. Would anyone like to meet me at the hotel, or at the subway? Now that I've booked, I will try to email people ... this is a working email account in this post, I will have fairly regular email access until Saturday morning, if anyone wants to get hold of me or make suggestions.

I'm going to be in NYC until Monday evening so there's lots of time for other meetups. I'm going to the museum with my brother on Sunday afternoon (I think, not confirmed yet) but other than that, I'm open to suggestions!

HRH Queen Kate (kate), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 16:00 (twenty-two years ago)

I am sorry to say I will be away this weekend until Sunday. But I believe that there were mutterings of perhaps a lowkey Sunday get together in a bar in Brooklyn (during what they call here the Superbowl, very close to the city). This bar has the best jukebox and is close to my house so win win!

Carey (Carey), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 16:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Superbowl? Uuuhhh... I haven't had to sit through a superbowl in ten years. (Since it was the all-NY Upstate vs. City Superbowl.) I finally find a cheap hotel on Manhattan, and everything is being planned in the Burrahs? Typical! Sigh.

The River Kate (kate), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 16:47 (twenty-two years ago)

I have to be in NY on Monday evening, so I can come in early on Monday and hang out, Kate.

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 16:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't think the people that were doing the muttering were actually planning on watching the Superbowl. I don't even thing there is a TV in this bar. We were just going to go to give us something to do. The Boroughs are just a frame of mind. This place in Brooklyn is probably easier to get to than 70% of places in Manhattan.

Carey (Carey), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 16:52 (twenty-two years ago)

(Not that I'm complaining about the Burrahs, mind you. I did live in a Burruh for five years! I am being facetious and British and "mustn't grumble while joke-grumbling loudly" about all this, and this is a reminder that I must cut that out)

Hooray for Monday hanging out, Rosemary! (If I'm not dreadfully hungover from this Superbowl thing.)

The River Kate (kate), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 16:54 (twenty-two years ago)

does this mean i'll be at daddy's saturday night and sunday afternoon/evening? lord have mercy.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 16:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm confused now.

The River Kate (kate), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 16:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Would it be truly beyond the pale to suggest that we have a pint at the Lakeside Lounge or that weird English hole in the wall on W. 4th or 5th Street, just as a souvenier for old times sake, even if it is either A) all Strokes and models now or B) totally well and truly beyond the pale on a scale with the Good Mixer, or is it just a bad idea to revisit the scenes of your teenage wasteland?

The River Kate (kate), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 16:57 (twenty-two years ago)

the bar proposed for saturday night post-bbq drinks and sunday superbowl merriment are one and the same - daddy's, home of simpson's pinball, tofu pups, glorious bloody mary's, and (wait for it) dirty dronerock barbacks.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 16:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Where is this "Daddy's" place? Please dear lord tell me it's not in Williamsburg. I *really* don't want to see what they've done to Williamsburg, boo hoo, the Mustard Factory and free raves and art happenings and poetry slams and no trustafarians, well, not too many and those that were there didn't mind paying for the drugs...

The River Kate (kate), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:00 (twenty-two years ago)

...and all that gay 'Burger shit...

ModJ (ModJ), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Would it be truly beyond the pale to suggest that we have a pint at the Lakeside Lounge

i live around the corner, and they have the chantels on the jukebox, so no. i love it, but haven't revisited since i had to carry a certain english journalist (whose magazine recently folded) out of there.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Did i drink too much coffee last night? Did I just make the superbowl thing up. Sorry! Anyway, Kate I can hang out when I get back on Sunday if you are available. I can go anywhere. And on Monday I may have some time free for shopping.

Carey (Carey), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:02 (twenty-two years ago)

and yes, daddy's is in williamsburg but it's two whole stops away from bedford avenue madness. it's in the italian neighborhood along the bqe, which is still pretty mellow and pleasant. not a gallery to be seen.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't know exactly when I'll be back from Philly on Saturday, but I'll try and figure that out, and get back to you. Maybe two nights in a row at the glorious Daddy's are too much, though?

hstencil, Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Have no fear of Williamsburg, Kate! Hipsters like Borroughs are just a frame of mind. Remember: progress progress progress.

Carey (Carey), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:05 (twenty-two years ago)

X-post...

The Lakeside Lounge jukebox was one of the best reasons to go there! (No dancing sign? What no dancing sign?) Oh, that and the Cute Bartender in the frilly shirt who used to give me free glasses of cognac for punching ex boyfriends. No, I think I'm going to insist that one of these drink things is in the Lakeside. Does Rock3ts R3dglare still sit at the end of the bar and do the crossword puzzle every afternoon?

I don't know that part of Williamsburg, I just know the bit that borders on Green Point, but it sounds OK. One night at Daddy's, one night at the Lakeside. (Preferably not a Saturday night in the East Village, though, thanks, I dont' think I'm up to that.)

The River Kate (kate), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:05 (twenty-two years ago)

OK, major X-post now... perhaps Saturday night at Daddys, since Williamsburg is a hop and a jump on the G-train. (I think? Shit, it used to run right underneath my window, how can I forget its root.)

And then Sunday night at the Lakeside coz I fancy a curry on 6th Street that night, and that is close-ish.

Sound good? Anyone?

The River Kate (kate), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I think Rock3ts R3dglare died a couple years ago, unfortunately.

hstencil, Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Omigod! I didn't know. What a shame. :-(

The River Kate (kate), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:09 (twenty-two years ago)

house party at the old !!! house on saturday -- country teasers playing. i'll be there. people come!

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Hi. Yes, I live next door to Daddy's. NOW I KNOW WHO THE DRUNK A-HOLES ARE WHO'VE BEEN KEEPING ME AWAKE AT NIGHT WITH THEIR TOMFOOLERY. I'm going to see the Stills on Saturday night, but if you're all meeting at Daddy's late, I'll be there.

Jeanne Fury (Jeanne Fury), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh dear lord, I had forgotten what NYC was like. You can do everything except sleep.

The River Kate (kate), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:17 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm going to Lakeside tonight. And then to Plaid. (Matos, I'm going to harass Tricia. Flotilla will be in full effect. DAMNIT WHY DID YOU MOVE? kidding.)

Jeanne Fury (Jeanne Fury), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:17 (twenty-two years ago)

kate, that sounds a good plan.

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Haha this all seemed so simple yesterday... someone explain this new plan to me?

jody (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:25 (twenty-two years ago)

"plan"

Allyzay, Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm going to harass Tricia.

please pinch her one time for me. tell her it's from lauren, her tattoo twin.

house party at the old !!! house on saturday -- country teasers playing. i'll be there. people come!

yeehaw!! i wonder how much trouble i'll get into if i skip that birthday party...

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:31 (twenty-two years ago)

someone explain this new plan to me?

okay. so random jokes and suggestions aside, i think the core plan is this: pearson's bbq at 6.30pm saturday, followed by drinks at daddy's in wmsburg. various house parties, birthday parties, etc. as the spirit moves you.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Kate, I can likely meet you at your hotel (you are staying at the 17?) or someplace nearby on route to bbq. I'm not great with directions myself though, so could someone let me know what train it is to the restaurant?

Mary (Mary), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:37 (twenty-two years ago)

please pinch her one time for me. tell her it's from lauren, her tattoo twin.

Gladly, heh heh. 'Course, the black eye I receive will be all your fault, but whatevs. Dang, well, I guess I'll be missing yet another get together due to my retarded luck. But if anyone thinks they'll wind up back at Daddy's around midnight, say so and I'll stumble in.

Jeanne Fury (Jeanne Fury), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:38 (twenty-two years ago)

ok here's MY plan (no-one has to do this if they don't wanna, not like i have any real authority anyway) -- i'll go to see roadhouse w/ whoever shows up for the 4 pm show, and afterwards head out to queens (time permitting).

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:39 (twenty-two years ago)

I can meet people at Hotel 17. I have maps, too.

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:48 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll meet everyone in Queens. That's easiest for me. Am I right that it's the R to Jackson/Roosevelt or the 7 to 74th/Broadway?

jody (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Jackson/Roosevelt

Jackson Heights/Roosevelt Avenue, that is.

jody (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:52 (twenty-two years ago)

I think so. Does the G go there too?

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 17:59 (twenty-two years ago)

i think the 7 to jackson/roosevelt is what i took the last time i went there. before saturday i'll call the bar and post some directions.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 18:01 (twenty-two years ago)

http://www.mta.nyc.ny.us/nyct/service/gline.htm

jody (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 18:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Mary, Rosemary, I would be delighted if you could meet me at the hotel and shepherd me out to Queens. I assume there is a lobby or a reception or somewhere obvious to meet, since I don't know my room number yet (and I'm not about to post that to the internet!) - perhaps about 5.30pm would allow plenty of time both for me to get to the hotel and get registered, and to allow time to get lost in Queens!

The River Kate (kate), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 18:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm always up fer some bbq.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 20:26 (twenty-two years ago)

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 20:34 (twenty-two years ago)

c'mon ILX, let's buy our own bus!

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 22:57 (twenty-two years ago)

rosemary, i love you.

jody (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 22:58 (twenty-two years ago)

But it's not a double decker. :-(

(I heard that the London Transport people sell old routemasters to tourist agencies in NYC when they no longer pass their MOT's because in America the laws about cars are far less strict. maybe we could get one of those!)

The River Kate (kate), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 23:01 (twenty-two years ago)

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Wednesday, 28 January 2004 23:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, just to warn you, I have invited an IRL friend along to this. She's nice, you'll like her! In fact, she needs to start posting to ILE... but be nice, y'all!

The River Kate (kate), Thursday, 29 January 2004 03:07 (twenty-two years ago)

i think i have one coming along, as well. they can be bewildered together.

lauren (laurenp), Thursday, 29 January 2004 03:34 (twenty-two years ago)

It will be quite interesting to see ILX through the eyes of someone who knows nothing of it... Well, I suppose it was a bit like this when I started bringing HSA to FAPs, but the thing was, I know almost everyone in London, so it was just like introducing him to my weird friends. In this situation, I'm meeting you lot for the first time, so I'll be nearly as lost as her!

The River Kate (kate), Thursday, 29 January 2004 03:43 (twenty-two years ago)

dude, i am down with this. but after reading the whole thread i am confused?!

geeta (geeta), Thursday, 29 January 2004 12:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I am going to this dinner at the BBQ place at 6.30PM. Hopefully someone will meet me at my hotel and guide me there! If you want BBQ, you should meet us there or at my hotel. If you want to go to Roadhouse, you should email Tad, though that may preclude BBQ with me. (God, herding cats, anyone?)

After that the plan gets very furry. By midnight or earlier I plan on being at Daddy's to meet stragglers. Other people are doing all sorts of other things around this! But this thread is no longer about them, it's now about ME and MY FAP (to make Stevem The English jealous.)

The River Kate (kate), Thursday, 29 January 2004 13:34 (twenty-two years ago)

The NYT recently reviewed the Upper East Side branch.

http://www.nytimes.com/2004/01/28/dining/28UNDE.html

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 29 January 2004 20:53 (twenty-two years ago)

hahaha, the ladyfriend asks "are the internet people getting together again?" We'll be back in town sometime Saturday, may miss the bbq but will be at Dady's.

hstencil, Thursday, 29 January 2004 21:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Excellent! Are you bringing the ladyfriend, or is she scared of internet people?

The River Kate (kate), Thursday, 29 January 2004 23:51 (twenty-two years ago)

of course she's coming along! She likes the "internet people" she's met.

hstencil, Thursday, 29 January 2004 23:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Excellent! Can't wait to meet you both! Can't wait to meet all of you, in fact! (Well, except the people I met back in England.)

The River Kate (kate), Friday, 30 January 2004 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Wait, that sounded rude. Can't wait to see the people I met in England again! Even if I'm not meeting them for the first time.

The River Kate (kate), Friday, 30 January 2004 00:01 (twenty-two years ago)

::bump::

Actually, I may be going to LIC to meet my IRL friend first, so I may not need anyone to meet me at the hotel. (She has a Hagstrom and a mobile phone and has lived in Queens for 15 years so we may be able to find the place...) What is the address of Daddy's, or is that too much to ask?

The River Kate (kate), Friday, 30 January 2004 14:01 (twenty-two years ago)

it's either 435 or 437 graham avenue. i never remember which, but the two addresses are right next to each other and one is clearly an apt. building while the other is clearly a bar. cross streets are frost and richardson, and it's about a five minute walk from the graham avenue l-train (north, towards the bqe).

lauren (laurenp), Friday, 30 January 2004 14:08 (twenty-two years ago)

435 Graham Ave. b/t Frost & Richardson. Across the street from La Piazetta restaurant. 6 blocks from the L train on Metropolitan Ave. If you're coming from Manhattan, you take the L to Graham (3rd stop in Bklyn), exit the stairwell to the RIGHT. At the top of the stairs, turn your body to the left so you're facing the nail salon. Walk 6 blocks in that direction (North).

Can you tell I've given directions to my place before? Sheesh. Okay, one more time for the criminally retarded -- when/what time are you folks going to Daddy's?

Jeanne Fury (Jeanne Fury), Friday, 30 January 2004 17:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Whenever we finish eating our onion rings.

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Friday, 30 January 2004 17:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Thanx for the directions, Jeanne!

I am chief herder of cats! Do you want a phone call when we leave the BBQ, or shall we just stand outside your house and throw rocks at your window and sing loudly and drunkenly? ;-)

The River Kate (kate), Friday, 30 January 2004 18:42 (twenty-two years ago)

haha I will be calling Jeanne's cell from my mini-FAP to your mini-FAP and bicoastal mini-FAP madness will reign supreme

M Matos (M Matos), Friday, 30 January 2004 19:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm only bumping this so I can find it more easily if I end up in a web cafe at some point today!

The River Kate (kate), Saturday, 31 January 2004 13:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Has anyone not left yet? I am incapacitated by the cold.

Ed (dali), Sunday, 1 February 2004 22:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Ghost of Eisbär (llamasfur), Sunday, 1 February 2004 22:39 (twenty-two years ago)

(seriously) i apparently missed kate and ally by about 1/2 hr. i had a good time, and met geeta and ghostly aaron.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Sunday, 1 February 2004 22:40 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm tired.

lauren (laurenp), Sunday, 1 February 2004 23:51 (twenty-two years ago)

BBQ was worth the trip to queens, drinking was worth the hangover, visiting brand new swank nightclub volume was priceless.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Monday, 2 February 2004 05:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Wait, you went out after Daddy's??? please don't tell me you went somewhere were dancing was allowed cos I'll be so sad.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Monday, 2 February 2004 06:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Allyzay, Monday, 2 February 2004 07:00 (twenty-two years ago)

geeta (geeta), Monday, 2 February 2004 07:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah but still hope to go to the par-tay later. Hopefully the sofa will provide minimal problems, cos that's the only delay I can really see happening. Haha maybe I'll just hold a house party, I have a spare room that can be used as a dance hall right now.

If, uh, I remember to call Con Ed tomorrow and have them turn on the electric and gas.

xpost hey geeta dude, I got my radio show!!

Allyzay, Monday, 2 February 2004 07:07 (twenty-two years ago)

geeta (geeta), Monday, 2 February 2004 07:08 (twenty-two years ago)

You're joking, right?

ModJ (ModJ), Monday, 2 February 2004 07:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh wait, Ally, this all reminds me -- Lola sez hi to both you and Kate (she is out here of all things on a business trip for a few days).

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 2 February 2004 07:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Ned, do me a favor and pass onto Lola my new email address? alk2102 @ columbia.edu. I lost her email and I only gave her my yahoo one which I stopped using.

I dunno when my radio show is exactly! I will have more info tomorrow! But you can totally be on my show! I should get Momus to be on the show.

Allyzay, Monday, 2 February 2004 07:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Will do, I'll hopefully be seeing her on Tuesday before she goes to SF. And a radio show! Right the fuck on! :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 2 February 2004 07:15 (twenty-two years ago)

u should do a show w/ nothing but ILXor mentalists.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Monday, 2 February 2004 07:40 (twenty-two years ago)

re dizzee rascal -- i'd LOVE to go, but i dunno right now ... i've got work piled up to the ceiling right now, i dunno if another weekend out is in the cards.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Monday, 2 February 2004 07:41 (twenty-two years ago)

jeanne how were the stills?

teeny (teeny), Monday, 2 February 2004 14:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Excellent.

Jeanne Fury (Jeanne Fury), Monday, 2 February 2004 14:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Crap. I might not be able to help Ally move if I'm doing Ghostly stuff on Saturday... I'll let ya know.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Monday, 2 February 2004 15:18 (twenty-two years ago)

I will be at Dizzee, but maybe just long enough for his set, as I will have to sneak out of a party to do so.

Ally will not be the first ILXor to have been a WBAR dj.

gabbneb (gabbneb), Monday, 2 February 2004 23:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey guys! Thanks to those of you that came out! Sorry I was so jet-lagged and cut out so early. (I really hope that no one actually went on to the Lakeside cause I went back to my hotel to have a rest and woke up the next day, sigh.)

Ha ha, I can't believe that I still know the G/L thing better than people who actually live in NYC.

the river fleet, Wednesday, 4 February 2004 14:52 (twenty-two years ago)

hey sweetie! How are ya?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 14:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Jet-lagged. Tired. But mostly happy. Man, I miss NYC. I never thought I did, but I was overcome with nostalgia while I was there. Or maybe it was seeing the Great Lost Love Of My life. ;-)

Did I mention I have a mullet now? Sigh.

Ally! Sorry I didn't call on Monday, I could not find a freaking payphone that worked anywhere near my hotel. Grrrrrr.

the river fleet, Wednesday, 4 February 2004 15:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Ah River Fleet -- as mentioned above (I believe) Lola sends her regrets that she couldn't meet up with ya.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 16:05 (twenty-two years ago)

But you don't know for definite though Ned huh?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 16:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm too lazy to reread the thread.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 16:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I meant your last post! oh it doesnt matter, it was a lame joke anyways!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 16:30 (twenty-two years ago)

I got your joke.

Kate, don't worry, I ended up being swamped on Monday and couldn't have hung out anyway--so consider it that I blew it off, not vice versa, and feel better about it!

Allyzay, Wednesday, 4 February 2004 17:30 (twenty-two years ago)

i can go to dizzee rascal after all. at least SOME of you guys ARE going, yes?

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 17:48 (twenty-two years ago)

kate it was great to meet you, sorry we didn't get to hang out more.

hstencil, Wednesday, 4 February 2004 21:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Allyzay, Wednesday, 4 February 2004 21:24 (twenty-two years ago)
