Who is More Washed-Up: Fred Durst or Xtina Aguilera?

My wife's favorite game is to sit around with friends over many drinks and several bitchy ciggies discussing which celebs/public figures are washed-up. There are different levels of washed-up'edness, like "rinse cycle" and some other finer points, but basically, it's just a matter of sizing up and dressing down the careers of falling stars. Both of these names came up during a sweltering round at a Brooklyn barbecue party yesterday, and fisticuffs nearly ensued.

So, which do you pick (if either)? I'd love to say Durst, but Limp Bizkit just released something (which is no guarantee of maintaining relevance....what if it flops?), but I can't remember the last time Ms. Aguilera did anything of note or even made a public appearance that caused any noticeable ripples.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 27 June 2005 14:41 (twenty years ago)

That game would make a great E talk show.

Hurting (Hurting), Monday, 27 June 2005 14:43 (twenty years ago)

Christina needs one good single to be back on top again. Durst needs a fucking miracle.

Taste the Blood of Scrovula (noodle vague), Monday, 27 June 2005 14:44 (twenty years ago)

A new Limp Bizkit album =/= Fred Durst is not washed up.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 27 June 2005 14:44 (twenty years ago)

I would say Durst as well.

Xtina has some vocal talent, and hasn't trashed out to Britney levels YET. Those two things lead me to think that people might still find her relevant.

The Limp are still without Borland, yeah?

Big Loud Mountain Ape (Big Loud Mountain Ape), Monday, 27 June 2005 14:45 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, I think the fact that Durst released something recently and is still completely irrelevant makes him more washed-up, not less.

xpost

Rick Massimo (Rick Massimo), Monday, 27 June 2005 14:46 (twenty years ago)

Borland came back and the public went "... Eh." Conversely, Xtina had a low-30s hit with a cover of "Car Wash" from "A Shark's Tale" last year.

Durst is obviously more washed up.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 27 June 2005 14:50 (twenty years ago)

He's still got a record deal, though, so clearly some folks --- shamefully deluded though they may be -- think he's still got something to offer the world.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 27 June 2005 14:50 (twenty years ago)

Xtina's last five singles have gone 3, 4, 5, 6, and 9 in the UK.

I'd have thought "Tilt Ya Head Back" had a US chart friendly sound?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 27 June 2005 14:53 (twenty years ago)

I was reading through a friend's Cosmo magazine (obviously to see how the woman are planning on pleasing men or something), and I was amazed to see that Aguilera girl in there multiple times! Apparently someone still thinks her relevant.

mike h. (mike h.), Monday, 27 June 2005 14:54 (twenty years ago)

No one in America wants to hear Nelly do up-tempo anymore.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 27 June 2005 14:54 (twenty years ago)

Dan perry OTM, i think Al said this recently too.

deej.., Monday, 27 June 2005 15:03 (twenty years ago)

Durst is more of an executive now, isn't he? Like Jay-Z.

Mark (MarkR), Monday, 27 June 2005 15:05 (twenty years ago)

I don't get the point of this thread. Xtina's last album was a huge hit. Right now, she's inbetween albums and is keeping a lower profile. How is that translate to being "washed up" in any way? Is Usher washed up as well?

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Monday, 27 June 2005 15:07 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, but there's always something cute about watching Alex In NYC trying to engage with popular culture.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 27 June 2005 15:09 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, I'm sure Xtina's next album will be huge. Pop singers like Xtina have way more commercial durability than rock bands.

Mark (MarkR), Monday, 27 June 2005 15:12 (twenty years ago)

You still see Usher's videos in regular rotation. You don't see Xtina's.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 27 June 2005 15:13 (twenty years ago)

And three years is a damn long time to be dormant in the fickle, transient world of largely-teen-oriented pop music, no?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 27 June 2005 15:18 (twenty years ago)

I'm being serious here when I say that X-tina could do a standards album and it would sell pretty well -- she still has her voice after all, whereas Durst has his ballcap collection and odd sexual narcisisim. As Durst is not a woman (insert joke here), his sexual narcisisim amounts to a '0' on the interest scale. So I would guess that she has the better chance of NOT being washed up because she can still sing, and/or release a sex video.

Jimmy Mod Is Sick of Being The Best At Everything (ModJ), Monday, 27 June 2005 15:23 (twenty years ago)

Sounds reasonable. While I'm not a fan of hers, that woman's voice is a force of supernature. Pity she wastes it on idiotic piffle.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 27 June 2005 15:26 (twenty years ago)

the way things are going now xtina should just lay low for awhile longer and then emerge triumphant "last man standing"-style from the multi-train pileup of her peers

jones (actual), Monday, 27 June 2005 15:28 (twenty years ago)

Whatever happend to P!nk?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 27 June 2005 15:29 (twenty years ago)

...(and will anyone attempt to deny that she's washed up?)

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 27 June 2005 15:29 (twenty years ago)

In general, it seems like it's easier for a pop singer to make a comeback...look at Mariah, she's back big time now.

M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Monday, 27 June 2005 15:31 (twenty years ago)

Whatever happend to P!nk?

Tim Armstrong happened to her.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 27 June 2005 15:34 (twenty years ago)

Whatever happend to P!nk?

The picture that showed her bad titties happened.

Jimmy Mod Is Sick of Being The Best At Everything (ModJ), Monday, 27 June 2005 15:35 (twenty years ago)

I strongly doubt Xtina will be going away any time soon. I kinda see her slowly morphing into Cher.

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Monday, 27 June 2005 15:43 (twenty years ago)

Scratch that. She's already kinda Cher-esque. What I mean is that she will borrow her career survival strategies from Cher.

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Monday, 27 June 2005 15:44 (twenty years ago)

She's already a gay icon, innshe?

Jimmy Mod Is Sick of Being The Best At Everything (ModJ), Monday, 27 June 2005 15:47 (twenty years ago)

Pink didn't even tour the US behind her last album, which pissed me off, because it was her best record by far.

pdf (Phil Freeman), Monday, 27 June 2005 17:18 (twenty years ago)

definitely Durst. It's only been three years since Xtina's (ENORMOUSLY successful) last album, and that thing spun singles into late '03 / early '04. She needs a legitimate flop of an album (like LB's last two) to be even close to that level of washed-up.

The Good Dr. Bill (The Good Dr. Bill), Monday, 27 June 2005 17:22 (twenty years ago)

Durst. Even his amateur porno career didn't take off.

ra's al latebloomer: not a dolphin lover, honest (latebloomer), Monday, 27 June 2005 17:31 (twenty years ago)

Matt is totally OTM. The gays are eagerly anticipating Ms. Aguilera's next move.

Actor Sizemore fails drug test with fake penis (jingleberries), Monday, 27 June 2005 17:33 (twenty years ago)

xtina can sing and has a great look and i don't really see her being washed-up any time soon.

monsanto and yanni (Jody Beth Rosen), Monday, 27 June 2005 17:35 (twenty years ago)

I'm far more washed up than Fred Durst...

"The Gays"

PappaWheelie (PappaWheelie), Monday, 27 June 2005 18:03 (twenty years ago)

i saw steve m@ckey at a gig last week and he said the c@vemen turned down the new p1nk single cause it was really, really horrible

he also said timbaland has done an m.i.a. remix, but i think that might be common knowledge by now, probably right?

mark p (Mark P), Monday, 27 June 2005 18:07 (twenty years ago)

I couldn't care which is more washed-up. Limp Bizkit's going to be making a video for whichever of the tracks on their new EP the fans want and right now "The Priest" is winning. I can't wait to see what insanity they've got prepared for that. As long as Durst retains just enough fame and success to keep doing crazy shit I'm happy.

miccio (miccio), Monday, 27 June 2005 18:09 (twenty years ago)

As long as Durst retains just enough fame and success to keep doing crazy shit I'm happy.

this is a totally unsurprising opinion from you, anthony.

alex: you and yer friends come close to getting into fights over some, um, "interesting" things.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Monday, 27 June 2005 18:14 (twenty years ago)

anyway, i vote for fred durst -- outside their hardcore fanbase, who really cares what he or any other limp bizkits do?

Eisbär (llamasfur), Monday, 27 June 2005 18:15 (twenty years ago)

> The gays are eagerly anticipating Ms. Aguilera's next move.

"No, we're not!" - little Nicola

P.S. Xtina's next album should be "Thinking of Etta James ... and a few other nice things"

Joseph McCombs (Joseph McCombs), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 04:30 (twenty years ago)

cmon, she's not exactly queen latifah yet.

monsanto and yanni (Jody Beth Rosen), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 04:34 (twenty years ago)

Exactly; she hasn't said she hates white people yet!

Jimmy Mod Is Sick of Being The Best At Everything (ModJ), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 12:02 (twenty years ago)

Is it safe to say that Xtina's stature right now is similar to Usher's stature circa "My Way" / "You Make Me Wanna", in terms of Taking The Next Step & slowly building up cachet & moving away from the kid stuff that will allow her to make an album that monopolizes the pop charts the way Confessions did / is?

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 12:23 (twenty years ago)

You mean the way 8701 did, David R?

Candicissima (candicissima), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 12:26 (twenty years ago)

And three years is a damn long time to be dormant in the fickle, transient world of largely-teen-oriented pop music, no?

Xtina took nearly three years between her debut album and her follow-up, and the follow-up was even more successful.

Xtina's oing great, I don't see how she's anywhere near a downward slope - she maintains a decent profile for someone who's not releasing music at the moment, and she seems to have already had her off-the-rails phase. She hasn't seemed fucked up or desperate in any way for years. And she's getting married soon!

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 12:32 (twenty years ago)

"No, we're not!" - little Nicola

Was that a Magical Mystery Tour allusion?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 12:32 (twenty years ago)

Well, 8701 did awright on that tip, Candicissima, but Confessions had it all over that album by about 18472 singles. Or 2 (or 4, if you want to include "Caught Up" & "My Boo") (someone w/ the Billboard stats can shoot me down). But, yeah, good catch - I actually forgot about "U Don't Have To Call", which means I should probably step away from this thread post-haste.

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 12:40 (twenty years ago)

The big problem with Confessions is that "Yeah" wears out its welcome wupermegaquickly and "Confessions Part 2" is one of the most retarded ballads that hasn't been recorded by R. Kelly. You would have to force me to listen to that album at gunpoint (and I really like "Caught Up" and "My Boo" a lot).

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 12:43 (twenty years ago)

Way to try and derail the thread, Dang!

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 12:44 (twenty years ago)

Also (OH NO I AM BAIT TAKING), you are dead wrong about "Confessions Part 2" - as if a song being a retarded would-be R. Kelly ballad is a bad thing!

Anyway - Xtina. 2006? Bring it!

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 12:46 (twenty years ago)

(Despite my above comments, Usher is still infinitely more palatable than Justin Timbersmug.)

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 12:47 (twenty years ago)

ANYWAY

Xtina. 2006? Bring it!

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 12:49 (twenty years ago)

Timbersmug

Hahaha

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 12:50 (twenty years ago)

But yes, PLEASE XTINA 2006 IS YOUR YEAR BABY

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 12:51 (twenty years ago)

8701 had three hit singles: "U Don't Have To Call" "U Remind Me" "U Got It Bad" Stripped is CA's 8701, she stepped it up a notch and can totally knock the ball out the park Confessions-style next time.

(Surprisingly considering how much I loved 8701, I didn't even bother with Confessions besides the radio hits. I think I was just sick of him by then...and Timberfake, even if I have that album too.)

Candicissima (candicissima), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 12:51 (twenty years ago)

fred durst is so much more washed up.

AaronK (AaronK), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 12:52 (twenty years ago)

yo, Dan, what about "Burn"?

miccio (miccio), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 12:54 (twenty years ago)

I share the disdain for "Confessions, pt. 2." musically its interesting but hearing the least sympathetic member of a love triangle bawl about his pain (and later demand respect for being "man enough to tell you," oh christ) is really a bit much. The video is cool, though.

miccio (miccio), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 12:55 (twenty years ago)

OK, right here, right now:

Xtina 2006? NO RUSHING REQUIRED, DON'T HURRY BACK!

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 12:57 (twenty years ago)

yo, Dan, what about "Burn"?

"Burn" isn't as loathesome as "Confessions Part 2" but not for lack of trying.

I still wish that Usher had gotten Justin's songs (and Justin had gotten a boot to the head).

PS: Xtina, don't listen to that crankypants Alex, he never heard "Make Over".

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 12:58 (twenty years ago)

I prefer Christina's big disco diva "Dirrty"/"Fighter" shit to her sappy ballads but god I just don't need her melismas in my life. I can't imagine her doing anything as lithe as "Genie In A Bottle" again, she always has to lay it on. Fred, on the other hand, is a magical imp from OMGWTFLOL-land who never fails to brighten my day.

x-post though I've never heard "Make Over."

miccio (miccio), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 12:59 (twenty years ago)

Matthew OTM re: Cher, I could see "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves" right around the corner.

x-post: Miccio, you shd give Stripped a listen - some of the non-singles ("INFATUATION"!!!) would be right up yr fuck-sap alley.

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 13:02 (twenty years ago)

I love how the people complaining about how Xtina abuses melismas clearly haven't heard what she's doing vocally since her first album.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 13:03 (twenty years ago)

Fred, on the other hand, is a magical imp from OMGWTFLOL-land who never fails to brighten my day.

Ha. Oh Anthony, that's such a you thing to say!

Candicissima (candicissima), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 13:03 (twenty years ago)

I only know what live TV appearances and videos tell me, re: Xtina. The SNL performance of "Turn To You" (or whatever the first album ballad was called) is scarred in my memory for life.

miccio (miccio), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 13:07 (twenty years ago)

Well, yeah, because "I Turn To You", all things being equal, is impacted dookie festering in John Wayne's colon. (hyperbole copyright Dang & Vassifer, LLC) Stripped is teh shit, tho. FIRST ALBUM BALLAD = key words.

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 13:14 (twenty years ago)

Yeah I'll admit melisma ain't the problem so much as just overall Cher-style sogginess. "Beautiful" bores the hell out of me. Plus I have an aversion to "you can't hurt me so don't hurt me" songs (see Sleater-Kinney's "Entertain").

miccio (miccio), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 13:20 (twenty years ago)

Cracker Ass Cracker

That's right up there with the saxophone is just a fancy kazoo

This is why I stick around here...

PappaWheelie (PappaWheelie), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 14:55 (twenty years ago)

Fred Durst for sure.

How could anyone say that Christina is washed up? Her last album was big. Her latest it due within 9 months, then we can talk about her potentially being "washed up".

Brett Hickman (Bhickman), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 15:02 (twenty years ago)

below is a little gossip from some blog that puts xtina in a different light though.wtf!!

The New York Daily News reports that Christina Aguilera treated fiance Jordan Bratman to a birthday night out at Scores. The singer invited 10 strippers to show their moves in the Champagne Room, and Bratman chose his favorite four to go with the couple to the President's Room. Once in the completely private room, Aguilera also did some stripping and made out with a Beyonce lookalike named Jade.

william (william), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 05:34 (twenty years ago)

Hahahaha "different light"? Did you not see the "Dirrty" video?

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 12:31 (twenty years ago)

How could anyone say that Christina is washed up? Her last album was big. Her latest it due within 9 months, then we can talk about her potentially being "washed up".

Because apart from a Sketchers ad where she portrays both frisky traffic cop and slutty speeder, she has all but vanished.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 12:37 (twenty years ago)

Oh no! A multi-platinum-selling superstar actually taking a break from the public spotlight! WHAT IS SHE DOING?

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 12:49 (twenty years ago)

Raise your hand if you'd rather Xtina made out w/ the media machine, monopolized tabloid covers and had a reality show about her raucous so hot sex life.

Actually...

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 12:51 (twenty years ago)

Well, let's just see how her next disc does.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 12:52 (twenty years ago)

She's also in those Verizon ads with the shrinking celebrities, Alex.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 12:52 (twenty years ago)

that dates back a while, though, Dan.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 13:01 (twenty years ago)

...although it's entirely fitting that they portray her as tiny and insignificant.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 13:02 (twenty years ago)

that Skechers poster ad is all over the London Tube at the moment. which kinda surprised me. but as i am now daily puzzled by what the "frisky traffic cop" character has to do with the product i guess from the company's POV this is successful marketing. normally i only notice/read the Jack Daniels posters.

zebedee (zebedee), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 13:04 (twenty years ago)

Alex, do you have money riding on her next album flopping or something? Or are you trying to jumpstart discourse in your charming assbackward Visigothian way?

But, yeah, aside from the Sketchers ad, the Verizon ad campaign, her appearance on that Nelly single that would've been big if people weren't angling for "Double Dilemma", her cover of "Car Wash" on the Shark Tale soundtrack, her employment in war on terra interrogations (har), and various award show appearances, she's totally AWOL.

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 13:05 (twenty years ago)

"a while" = six months ago?

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 13:07 (twenty years ago)

I just looked out my window and, yeah, Christina wasn't there. I guess Alex's right!

miccio (miccio), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 13:15 (twenty years ago)

Xtina is usually hanging around outside your windw? Do you keep your bacon there or something?

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 13:17 (twenty years ago)

she knows where the bacon is

miccio (miccio), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 13:18 (twenty years ago)

the dirrty bacon

miccio (miccio), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 13:18 (twenty years ago)

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 13:20 (twenty years ago)

How charrrming.

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 13:21 (twenty years ago)

Attention spans are shrinking faster than a penis in a swimming pool.

Brett Hickman (Bhickman), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 16:37 (twenty years ago)

Alex, do you have money riding on her next album flopping or something? Or are you trying to jumpstart discourse in your charming assbackward Visigothian way?

No, I don't have money riding on it (but it someone wants to wager...)

I'm serious, I'm not just saying this to wage some hate campaign against Xtina (though if anyone wants me to, I'm your man). I was just struck by how she's vanished (admit it -- she was once ENTIRELY INESCAPABLE!) Yes, I understand that she's taking a break -- but so is Britney, and she's still everywhere. It just seems strange to me how she went from everywhere to nowhere in short order - and once again, the fickle world of teen-oriented pop doesn't have the longest memory.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 17:28 (twenty years ago)

So, to me, like P!nk (is anyone going to argue with me that P!nk is washed up?), she seems washed up.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 17:29 (twenty years ago)

Can we talk about Killing Joke instead?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 17:31 (twenty years ago)

Not on this thread.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 17:32 (twenty years ago)

Alex, how is not being around a bad thing? I think this is part of Britney's problem is that, even when she says she's leaving, she never does. People get burnt out seeing someone around constantly. J. Lo is another who suffers from this.

Brett Hickman (Bhickman), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 17:38 (twenty years ago)

1) Xtina's shed that teen-pop tag quick-like (circa Stripped), and is only a concern to writers & would-be-tastemakers that don't know any better, and folks that buy into what those folk spew.
2) Continuing to maintain an overbearing presence in the pop cult world is bound to bite you in the ass. [xpost!]
3) Perspective perspective perspective perspective.

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 17:38 (twenty years ago)

Yes, I understand that she's taking a break -- but so is Britney, and she's still everywhere.

Wouldn't this kind of tell you that Britney isn't actually taking a break? Also, as pointed out before she did the exact same thing between her first two albums and it didn't seem to hurt her career.

You could have argued six weeks ago that The Backstreet Boys were washed up, but then they released their explicitly-emo album and panties are getting wetter by the week, just like in the good old days.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 17:39 (twenty years ago)

Plus, Brit's reality show is amazing!

M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 17:41 (twenty years ago)

Believe me, no one's happier that she's taking an extended break than me. I'm just saying that three years is a long time to be away from a notoriously transient audience.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 17:42 (twenty years ago)

Is the BSB's new album selling in anywhere near the numbers they used to sell?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 17:43 (twenty years ago)

Alex, that's just the time since the album came out...she was on tour for a long while and her songs were all over the radio into late 2003/early 2004 at least.

Regardless, I know for a fact that she's in the studio now and the record is expected late this year or early next year (as of writing).

I find it weird (personally) that Aguilera is one of those people I always find myself defending. I rarely stick up for musicians, but she's one of the ones that I do.

Brett Hickman (Bhickman), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 17:46 (twenty years ago)

It got to #3 with what I understand was very little promo in the States.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 17:47 (twenty years ago)

Backstreet's single went gold on the 14th. Can't find any album data.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 17:48 (twenty years ago)

Nick Carter has to go to rehab...

Brett Hickman (Bhickman), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 17:48 (twenty years ago)

Regardless, I know for a fact that she's in the studio now and the record is expected late this year or early next year (as of writing).

Alright, alright, alright....sheesh. Let's just see what happens when she's back.

Can everyone agree, though, that FRED DURST IS FUCKING WASHED-UP?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 17:50 (twenty years ago)

I saw him wearing a Killing Joke shirt yesterday. It really brought out the roundness of his belly.

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 17:51 (twenty years ago)

RedHat is washed up. Xtina...meh. She's more likely to come back and SELL records than Durst is. As for the 3-year thing, well spandex is awfully hard to sew, and it's quite a chore to gather that much human hair for her fright wigs. Her buyers are scouring the planet for the ubiquitous golden thong.

VegemiteGrrl (VegemiteGrrl), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 17:52 (twenty years ago)

Yeah Durst is awful. I like how he thinks he's still happening. How many copies did that EP sell, Fred? Has anyone even heard a song off of it on the radio or anywhere?

Brett Hickman (Bhickman), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 17:53 (twenty years ago)

Can everyone agree, though, that FRED DURST IS FUCKING WASHED-UP?

Well, I doubt he'll be on Pitchfork's top 50 albums of 2005.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 17:55 (twenty years ago)

An excerpt from one of the new Limp Bizkit songs.

THE UNQUESIONABLE TRUTH - PART ONE by Limp Bizkit

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 18:06 (twenty years ago)

Durst has some part in a horror flick they're filming around here and according to the director "He's incredibly talented, really wonderful and I feel really lucky that we have him."

Viz (Viz), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 18:06 (twenty years ago)

So, Durst gives good head?

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 18:08 (twenty years ago)

Re: Britney - A high-profile marriage followed by a high-profile pregnancy followed by a high-profile reality show isn't taking a break. I'm not a Christina defender, but I do assume that her absence from the spotlight is a conscious effort to shed that "notoriously transient" audience in favor of a more loyal one, i.e., adults who want something beyond two tig bitties and a microphone.

Joseph McCombs (Joseph McCombs), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 18:11 (twenty years ago)

I am never going to hear "Where It's At" the same way ever again.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 18:12 (twenty years ago)
