"Stick a fork in Madonna's new flick, it's done.

"The Material Mom's sex-and-sand movie, "Swept Away," has tanked soooooo badly at the box office, she may never see a starring role again.

"The movie - playing in 196 mostly empty theaters across North America - raked in a paltry $375,000 in its first weekend and didn't even make the list of top 10 earners.

In fact, in the past decade, the only major studio film to do worse was the abysmal 1995 animated clunker "Arabian Knight," with the voices of Matthew Broderick and Jennifer Beals. It took in just $320,000."

so i'm guessing no one here actually saw this movie?

I wonder if it wasn't Madonna in the starring role would it have done better? Guy Ritchies other movies were pretty good. If he had cast Madonna in Cousin Ari's role would Snatch have bombed too?

This is a re-make of the Goldie Hawn film 'Overboard' or something, isn't it?

It's a shame that Madonna can't act very well. She gets full marks for perseverance, though.

It'll take more than another crap film to put me off Madonna. And if American Pie didn't put me off her records, it'll take more than another crap single too.

I do kind of wish she would stop trying to put me off her, though...

Well, it's a remake of a 1974 Lina Wertmuller film (starring Mariangela Melato and Giancarlo Giannini), one that's considered a classic. I've never seen it.
