Radio-What song to play first

I'm going to be doing a radio show in the next few weeks for one of the pirate stations over here, it's pretty popular and gets alot of listeners so I'm dead pleased, and radio is my mission for this year kind of the way print was last year and is this year.

Anyway what song should I play first? It has to be something I can talk over at the start and ruin. I don't know if I'll be very good at in between song chat. It's a deep house radio station mainly, I'm wondering if when I play some normal stuff will they all think "hey, what the fuck were we wasting our time with deep house for! God they actually have made house now that's MEANT to be catchy and likeable".

At the moment I'm thinking King of Snake as the first song, or else something by Playgroup.

play underground resistance "transition".

"I can't help falling in love with you" A-Teens

I can't play that first Graham, it's way too hard, I save that for the middle of the show when everyone is really deep into it and then I just drop it and the place goes insane.

Yeah if I had transition that might be good. My friend reckons Everlasting Life by Jon Carter just for the amazing vocal intro "my seleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeectaaaaaaaaaaah, youshallneverbeextinctwiththepassingoftiiiiiiiiiiiiiime". It is pretty cool.

play Underground resistence - "the Swarm" - nice buzzy opener and then that rumbly squidge kicks in - simply grrrrrreat

hehe Don't worry, it's just background noise for most people. ;-) Honestly, I loved doing radio (more than writing).

Radio is indeed good fun, but the trick is getting listener response -- ANY listener response.

Dubtribe Sound System - Do It Now
It takes at least a good eight minutes to get going, perfect for your intro.

I don't know that one, only Equitoreal by DTS which might be pretty cool too what with the insane screaming and all.
