i'm sober, tired and bored.

But being sober is dead easy! I know, because I've been doing it continuously since 1978 - actually, bar several dozen breaks of a few hours each in the mid-to-late-'70s, it's been my state all my life.

(Apologies to anyone for whom sober isn't easy - it's just occurred to me that the above might seem very insensitive to anyone struggling with this.)

I am sober and there's no booze left in the house because I drank it all last night (not that there was much of it then, alas). Sigh. I'm also trying and failing to think of a better reason not to go to bed than just being annoyed at my weekend ending so soon. Sobriety and Mondays are both great evils. Awakeness may be one too, now I come to think of it.

I'm sober and bored. We experimented with drinking all day on Fridays since this year me and most of my good friends finish early on a Friday. It was good fun but very expensive. Then last night I went to the local pub and it was shit. I am so sober and so bored.

I've been sober for exactly two weeks now, and I fucking hate it. Can't wait to start drinking again. You don't realise the emptiness and boredom and lonliness of your existence until you have to spend it sober. God, it's depressing.

well done kate hope the rehearsals went ok so it was at least worth the effort.
i am always bluddy sober now, which is a big thing for me since i spent a long time 'partying'. but i dont miss that anymore, and actually like waking up feeling good etc.
drinking is an easy habit to fall into out of boredom hey.

OK, nobody EVER get as bored as I was when I wrote that last post, I thought I'd stalkerishly google people I knew in high school and I found some incest slash fiction written by the brother of one of my best schoolfriends. Brrr. I hope if I ever meet him again I've forgotten about it by then.

I'm sober too. In fact I hardly drink at all these days - time was when I would party 'til I lost my shoes every weekend, but I seem to take longer to recover from that now. A heavy night on the booze can make me into a tired zombie for days afterwards now, and it's not a sensation I enjoy much. I must be out of practise. Or starting to grow up. Or just becoming a boring old fart.

I am sober after last weeks booze and no sleep bindging Pre through Post Terrastock festivities..However I may be drunk as early as Tues when I see The Mooney Suzuki or at the latest on Saturday when I see High On Fire.

Here's a question: if you don't drink much, do you do anything else to mess yourself up? I don't mean drugs necessarily, either - it could be jumping out of a plane. If it's been a while (ie weeks) since I did anything that falls in the fun-but-self-destructive-if-carried-to-excess category, I get antsy.

btw, St. Agrestis' "phony negroni" is by a very, very wide margin the best bottled/canned mocktail I've ever tried; comes extremely close imo to tasting like the real thing
