Im going to Shanghai in january- any tips?

I expect you'll need a passport. Beyond that I know little. I recommend going to a museum and looking at Chinese Zen landscape painting around the 11th-14th centuries. If there are any ancient art galleries in Shanghai, I wouldn't know.

shanghai is CROWDED. masses upon masses upon masses. of course, i was there during a national holiday, but its like the 3rd largest city in the world anyway. it was pretty neat, but i didnt have too much time to explore. stay away from the bund because its just tourists.
