went out last night - left my tobacco in the bar, left my tobacco tin, bus pass and scarf in friend's flat. is it just me or is it embarrassing to ring around and go 'errr....i left my scarf behind'.

i get embarrassed and neurotic!!!!!!! embarrassed because for once i would like to go someplace and not leave everything behind.

what have you left behind at bars/flats/coffee shops/classrooms.

Scatterbrained or merely baked? I do this all the time.

First FAP I ever went to, I left my umbrella behind. I do this often, though usually on public transport.

Whenever I have an expensive pair or gloves, I'm bound to lose one of them. I have about five odd ones, so now I only buy those 1.99 strechy mini gloves. I always leave sunglasses in bars (don't ask me why I was wearing my sunglasses in a bar in the first place), bought the same pair - lost them again in the same bar. I lost a vest and re-bought it, and I left my favourite ugly shirt (it's hot orange polyester with a purple print on it) in the washroom at Lino's 24 hour greasy spoon restaurant in K-town (now demolished - wah!) and had to re-buy that too. I rebuy these things because otherwise I'll forget that I lost them and waste my time looking.

I lose things within my own house, but never anywhere else.

The only time I've ever lost something was when I stormed out of a restaurant very angrily because the person I was with was trying to steal one of the crystal goblets. I ended up leaving my purse in the restaurant. For a week. I just didn't notice it was gone.

I have a superstition/self-fulfilling premonition that if I take three things onto a bus, I will forget one of them. The only solid basis for this idea is that I've lost any number of umbrellas this way.

Scattering brains? Why, classic, of course! Fun for the whole family. Depending on the family bent.

keys used to be my big problem - losing house keys, car keys, work keys. i did this for years, but suddenly i just didnt any more and i dont know why.

my sister left her baby in the car once. they had been to get kfc or something, got home and the whole family rushed inside to eat. then someone said " oh, um.....wheres daniel? " he was in his carseat happy as ever, even after about half an hour of being deserted!
they must have been very hungry! especially to forget their son for kfc of all things!

When I saw this thread I was listening to a song called Scatterbrain.

Melissa W (Melissa W), Saturday, 7 December 2002 20:35 (twenty-three years ago)

whatever happened to the group Scatterbrain? they were sort of the Ween of thrash-metal, if memory serves me correctly.

Tad (llamasfur), Saturday, 7 December 2002 20:52 (twenty-three years ago)

In the last two weeks I took two tests home. I just forgot to hand them in and scooped them into my backpack. I discovered them later and went, "Oh, shit." My teachers gave me credit but it will not do for my future grades to establish a pattern so I need to be much less scatterbrained.

i keep leaving my fave sunglasses behind. i left my white ones in ponsonby pies yesterday, because i was tired and had an armload of pie, V and my handbagbriefcase thing. i am gutted about it but they were $2 and i have a black pair left. which i left in the cafe after meeting with donna and riley today. (remembered and retrieved 5 mins later).
