THEY

tonight me and my people were going to go see The Ring because we're lame and 2 months behind, but by the time we all got our shit together to go to the movies, the only thing still playing that late was THEY, and we figured hey, one scary movie instead of another.  but man oh man oh man, was it shitty.  i think i enjoyed it more than i could have enjoyed a good movie.  it should have been called NIGHT MONKEYS, though.  it was rilly rilly bad, but entertainingly so.  and the dark-haired chick with the unplaceable accent was very cockslapworthy (and she had this great speech, delivered in complete disinterested monotone and ended with the immortal words "and that's when I stabbedd him in the eye with a kitchen knife").  it was the first time I've heard practically the whole theatre laugh at the end of a 'horror' movie.  people were literally saying "what the fuck was that?".  i can't wait for the sequel, THEY BACK.

also also i forgot to mention the part where i really gave up all hope of taking THEY seriously and just had fun:  the Female Protagonist is driving out in the middle of nowhere For Some Reason and is attacking by the NIGHT MONKEYS, and then in the next scene when she tries to explain the experience to her boyfriend she actually says "I was driving out in the middle of nowhere", no to or from or circumstances, they didn't even TRY to contrive it a little, no bones whatsoever about just getting to the next step in the Horror Movie Formula.  beautiful.
