And why are you so goddamn rigorous about it, what are you OCD or something?

here and there, but they are mainly on hangers at least

webcrack (music=crack), Monday, 9 December 2002 05:47 (twenty-three years ago)

They face left in mine, but overall I'm pretty neat. Maybe I'll post a few photos of my apartment when I'm through decorating and stuff...

damn that errant b...

Kim (Kim), Monday, 9 December 2002 05:50 (twenty-three years ago)

left because that way they slide out buttons facing me so i can easily remove them from their hangers.

I don't hang my clothes in my closet to face a certain direction or align with Venus rising or anything arcane like that.

However, I do have a rather obsessive-compulsive way of lacing up my sneakers.

clothes?

weatheringdaleson (weatheringdaleson), Monday, 9 December 2002 07:25 (twenty-three years ago)

i generally have them facing the left unless i put them on the hanger the wrong way.

from left to right, I can only open one door of my wardrobe as I have a table blocking the other.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 9 December 2002 10:06 (twenty-three years ago)

In the wardrobe they all face left. On the hanging rack they all face right. And all the hangers have to be hooked on the same way round - in the wardrobe facing away, on the rack facing the room. I am a weirdo.

I'm not a vampire, though. Hmmm what a nice stripy shirt that is.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Monday, 9 December 2002 11:12 (twenty-three years ago)

I hang them on hangers. Um, yeah.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 9 December 2002 13:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Mine all face right, but then I'm left handed, perhaps that's the reason. Either that or I'm just anally retentive....

smee (smee), Monday, 9 December 2002 13:53 (twenty-three years ago)

mine face the future

mark s (mark s), Monday, 9 December 2002 14:12 (twenty-three years ago)

My hangers all have to be pointed towards the back wall, but my clothes point whichever way they feel like. In fact, a lot of clothes I just have draped over the hangers sideways because they fall off the hangers the usual way. The few clothes I wear all the time are at the middle and the ones I really should have given away years ago take up the rest of the closet.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 9 December 2002 14:13 (twenty-three years ago)

They face left. And from the left, you have a hanging shoe thing, then empty hangers, then coats, jackets, trousers, skirts, dresses, shirts all grouped together for ease of choosing. And the hooks on the hangers all face away.

Actually, nothing is in my wardrobe at the moment because the plumbers need to pipe through it to put a shower in the bathroom (I have a walk-in-wardrobe but still have to use those udder things to rinse my hair in the bath, grr!)

Madchen (Madchen), Monday, 9 December 2002 14:23 (twenty-three years ago)

That-a-way.

Graham (graham), Monday, 9 December 2002 14:27 (twenty-three years ago)

My theory seems proven so far—
that your clothes face away from what handedness you are.
Neat-handed peeps have their clothes in a mess;
Front-handers only see the back of their dress.
(You'd have to travel round a black hole awfully fast
to have your clothes face the future but your hand in the past!)

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 9 December 2002 14:35 (twenty-three years ago)

chiz

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 9 December 2002 14:36 (twenty-three years ago)

Clothes face left (& hangers face back, of course).

It really shits me when I go to a clothes shop and the clothes are facing right. Sometimes I go through and make them face left. Sometimes I don't bother.
