I went a few months ago (to see BAXENDALE!). It's like a more swish and pretentious Notting Hill Arts Club. The drinks are more expensive. I think it's part-owned by Ben out of Everything But the Girl, so I imagine there is a deep house/acid jazz element to it - but I think they do electroclashy/nu-garagerocky/NME type nites too.

I thought this was going to be about cherry jam, which I love.

I thought Cherry Jam was pretty sweet. It reminded me of a bar in Denver called "Lime"--because they are both about fruits, and.. FUN.

So weird.

Stumbled across this newsgroup as I searched the internet for "Bricolage + theory". Incidentally, I am visiting London for the first time in January.

Can anyone suggest any good places to go out to, and/or cheap accomodation? electroclash, garage rock, and pop are all up my alley....

Any club which promises free entry before a specified time, then keeps a long line of people waiting outside from 15mins before said time until after the point at which they need to pay, under pretense of 'fire regulations' when it is known that the club is far from full, and additionally *insists* that people check their coats/bags at £2/item ('security reasons'; I told them to f-off) is a place never to be visited again.

I guess I went on a bad night.
