I've had my first office job ever for about 6 weeks now and since then all that elbow resting has fucked them up. They've gone all dry and itchy and I'm worried I get soem horrible disease from it or something like that. Is this normal behaviour for the arm-joint region or hould I do something about it?
I was sold these elbows only 6 months back you see, so if I can find the receipt, I'll take them back to the shops. Frigging designer elbows!

Or you could sew on those math teacher-esque cushiony brown corduroy elbow patches on all your jackets?

Central heating in office buildings will really do that to you, plus the arm-resting bit. This is my favorite lotion:

You can get it online or in NYC or at Neiman-Marcus. Looks expensive but an 8-oz bottle has lasted me over a year. And it's seriously the best, even if you're a lotion-phobic boy: non-scented and once it sinks in you're not greasy.

Oh and drink lots of water, the beauty magazines say, but that eight-glasses-a-water-a-day thing recently got disproved and I can't stand having to run to the bathroom all the time.

where did it get disproved? that'd be great news

You need salve.

dog latin, your elbows are supposed to be dry until you want to eat them. They keep better that way. Next, after you boil them, either eat them soon after, or, if you're like me and you like to put your elbows in macaroni salad, you can keep them moist with a little mayonaise.

one month passes...
Why oh why did I take my lotion home and not bring it back to work?

(BTW, I love this RANDOM thread feature - is that new?)

You know what helps? That medication they sell for cow udders. It smells godawful though.

use the moisturizer within the first few minutes out of the shower.

and don't wear wool on bare elbows.
