gareth how do you manage this international rock star lifestyle

ok, timewise we get a lot more holidays than you in america do...i get 27 days holiday a year...plus 8 public holidays...

moneywise...well, this trip to koln...flight was 96 pounds, accomodation 12 a night, so it can work out pretty reasonable

gareth (gareth), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 09:23 (twenty-three years ago)

the 'nice!!' was part of geetas post but it didnt seem to want to be italicized for some reason...

gareth (gareth), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 09:24 (twenty-three years ago)

Lisbon's lovely, here's the url for some of our holiday pics from last year.

this is my 3rd trip abroad this year...y'all make it sound like hundreds

gareth (gareth), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 17:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Gareth we are Americans => the very concept of "abroad" impresses us.

nabisco (nabisco), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 19:16 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm a very impressive broad myself.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 19:19 (twenty-three years ago)

There's some joke about a Texan who says, "My ranch is so big I can drive from sun-up to sun-down and still be on the property." (And then the Coloradoan says, "Yeah, I used to have a truck like that, too.") Point being, you know, international travel, different contexts, etc. (Plus you came here! For a while! None of us are spending months in London, except for that guy who used to post as Tiiiiim or as Optimus Primate, who's over there right now.)

nabisco (nabisco), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 19:22 (twenty-three years ago)

...shite.

Colin Saunders (csaunders), Thursday, 19 December 2002 08:07 (twenty-three years ago)

i don't get nabisco's joke.

michael wells (michael w.), Thursday, 19 December 2002 10:23 (twenty-three years ago)

It's a texas thing.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 19 December 2002 11:14 (twenty-three years ago)

the texan was driving slowly!

I still haven't left London since August 1999.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 19 December 2002 11:19 (twenty-three years ago)

His truck wasn't very good! That's a pretty funny joke, though now I don't know why the other guy was from Colorado.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 19 December 2002 11:29 (twenty-three years ago)

I say: Hooray for Gareth!

DG (D_To_The_G), Thursday, 19 December 2002 11:33 (twenty-three years ago)

Gareth I am glad you are happy. you rock. i just got your postcard today. i miss london. i really needed a picture of it! thank you so much!
i am working on those tapes. i am busy with my two jobs. they will be good. i promise!
i hope koln rocked! i had forgotten that you were scared of heights, or I wouldn;t have bothered you so much about climbing to the top of the cathedral ;-)

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Friday, 20 December 2002 04:53 (twenty-three years ago)

Gareth is scared of heights? Tell me more!

Mary (Mary), Friday, 20 December 2002 05:13 (twenty-three years ago)

it is not a secret. also he hasn;t told me any funny anecdotes. also maybe scared was too harsh a term. "avoids" might be better.
Mary did you get the email I sent?

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Friday, 20 December 2002 05:18 (twenty-three years ago)

Hi, yes Aaron, thanks! Will reply soon, once I can tear myself away from ILx...

Mary (Mary), Friday, 20 December 2002 06:16 (twenty-three years ago)

i suffer terribly from vertigo...i managed the fernsehturm in berlin because Nalini made me do it, also the angel statue in berlin, but that was a real struggle, i took photos at the top but because i was shaking and completely pale, 2 of the photos have people looking directly into camera with "wtf?" expressions.

i was too scared to do the washington memorial, bunker hill or empire state buliding.

i didnt manage the Dom, especially after people who dont suffer from heights told me it was scary...oh no! the fernmetterturm was geschlossen! so i couldnt do that either

but i did manage the Rheinturm in Dusseldorf, i couldnt believe it! the view was wonderful, although i did feel a little queazy, i got lots of photos, i just hope my hands werent shaking!

i am scared of flying too

gareth (gareth), Friday, 20 December 2002 10:55 (twenty-three years ago)

Gareth rocks! this has always been the case

nick.K (nick.K), Friday, 20 December 2002 11:58 (twenty-three years ago)

aw, cute!

Mary (Mary), Saturday, 21 December 2002 06:55 (twenty-three years ago)

Gareth,
Even though you got a name like Gareth, you still rock out to the max, and I respect that. I'm in the same boat as you with the hapiness, because I'm getting a Korg MS2000 for Xmas. Hooray for everyone! It's cool that when I post crap online no one hears the beer belches that I spout off every 45 seconds.

I like everyone. (belch)

Helltime Producto (Pavlik), Saturday, 21 December 2002 07:21 (twenty-three years ago)

Matt DC, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 13:59 (nineteen years ago)

Shall we play drinking beer at some point next week.

Also I take I was right all along ( I will not wheel out an appropriate ILX meme word though).

Ed, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 14:04 (nineteen years ago)

I was right first.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 14:05 (nineteen years ago)

Didn't know about it.

blueski, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 14:05 (nineteen years ago)

You may have been but as his coach and trainer I deserve plaudits too. You, I think were the Don King of this bout.

Ed, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 14:06 (nineteen years ago)

the Hendon bike-rider i mean

blueski, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 14:07 (nineteen years ago)

no, basically, i realised that the step sequencer i was using doesn't send midi data, and therefore i need like a gated clock

688, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 14:09 (nineteen years ago)

That is not a euphemism I have heard before.

Ed, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 14:10 (nineteen years ago)

no, i dont think you understand. basically this means i can finally ditch fxpansion guru (which isnt actually that bad but crashes the hell out of ableton so is basically useless for me)

688, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 14:12 (nineteen years ago)

I shall be in the pub tonight, you should join me.

Ed, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 14:12 (nineteen years ago)
