Strategies for re-motivating yourself in your current position when other more tantalizing opportunities fall through, please. And no "get a new job!" answers please; I work in a specialized industry where ideal jobs don't often pop up.

It was a contract job that paid gobs of money. I was going to cobble together a small nest of coin and then travel across Europe for six months at the end of next summer. Now, without said salary, the travelling thing (which I was *really* looking forward to) seems next to impossible.
