8. What's the best object you've ever been given as a present?My brother paid for ten driving lessons for me for my seventeenth birthday. That was certainly the most useful present I've ever had, if not the best.

2. What's a trait other people have that you wish you had?Far, far too many to mention. To be hardworking and to be non-jealous/envious/possessive like my ex :)
3. What about you are other people most drawn to?In some circumstances I have a confidence bordering (wiht several cross-border skirmishes) on arrogance. I ama natural leader - not necessarily a good one, but I am drawn to it, and that might be appealing to some.
(on the other side of the coin, I am often shy, insecure and withdrawn. It's a pisser).
4. What, if anything, do you wish you were brave (or foolish) enough to do?Charity work maybe? I think I have shown a certain amount of bravery committing to a long distance relationship.
5. What's the smartest decision you've ever made?Buying a flat three years ago? Maintaining good relationships with exes who have become firm and genuine friends.
6. What piece of art/music/writing do you wish you'd created yourself?Something epic - say, Infinite Jest or the Sistine Chapel ceiling.
7. What, if anything, do you wish you could change about your body?Hair to migrate back to where it *should* be.
8. What's the best object you've ever been given as a present?Does love count? I can't think of an object kinda gift. Though I do really enjoy my digital camera :)

Patience; the ability/willingness to suffer fools.
My sense of humor, my knowledge of stupid music trivia, my curiosity.
I wish I had the courage to be more extroverted; I wish I weren't so afraid of taking the initiative in situations that could benefit me; I wish I were brave enough to supress my fear of rejection and go after all the things I want.
I'll get back to you on that in about ten years, after I've developed a little more hindsight.
I'd love to be able to write a beautiful choral mass, something like the Verdi Requiem.
I'd lose a few pounds and tone up. The rest of me I can live with.
My friend sent me the Pet Sounds box set a few years ago, for no reason other than he thought I would like it. It's a great, great set, and an amazingly generous gift.
