It's Snowing!

Friday it was 70F. This morning, snow! It's been falling fairly hard all day. On the way to breakfast I saw kids scrambling to scrape everything they could from car hoods for snowballs.

But now it's starting to accumulate on the ground. how exciting!

where are you? there was snow in London last week...a rare occurrence indeed. thats probably our lot for a while though. annoyingly there are now reports that we are in for colder Winters as a result of a new impending Ice Age...this comes in stark contrast to the persistent threats of global warmings and susequent milder winters un the Uk - tcha!

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 16:08 (twenty-three years ago)

It's been snowing here all the cockfarming time this winter! More than usual, I am sick of snow.

That Girl is in Texas -- not normally thought of as a land of snow but as I'm sure she can tell you, being the south end of the Great Plains means lots of frigid air from Canada...

I assumed the email address having 'Dallas' in it was a clue.

its been snowing in massachusetts for a month straight. This morning I saw a Yeti in my driveway. He was getting his mail. He made a home in the 40 ft. snow pile in my driveway.

The Greenfinches of walthamstow look rather pleased that our downstairs neighbours always put lots of bird food out

Ohmigod, it was totally snowing! Really hard, too, big fluffy flakes like it was going to be a real blizzard. But now it has stopped pretty much. And I bet everything that is on the ground will melt by the time the sleepyheads wake up.

It's very pretty. And I was just wishing it would snow yesterday as I was reading Green Knowe.

bbc.co.uk and metoffice.com both agree that it will snow more today and tomorrow. weather.co.uk says only tomorrow. come on snow, ya fuckers! let's see what you can do!

emsk ( emsk), Tuesday, 27 December 2005 11:26 (twenty years ago)

It's melted already!

Vicky, those are really beautiful.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 27 December 2005 11:41 (twenty years ago)

It's not snowing here at the moment, but a hailstorm has just started, with BIG hailstones - for England, at least. Most of them are somewhere between a half and one centimetre across.

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Tuesday, 27 December 2005 11:54 (twenty years ago)

mookieproof, Friday, 8 February 2013 05:33 (thirteen years ago)

i've been feeling nostalgic for chicago's 2011 blizzard. the weather here today was the worst sort, like god dumped the unwanted remainder of his gross partly-melted slushie on the world

1staethyr, Friday, 8 February 2013 06:02 (thirteen years ago)

I've been at my school since 1998, and I think today is only the second time the school (as opposed to just bussing) has been shut down completely.

mookieproof, Friday, 8 February 2013 11:48 (thirteen years ago)

As well you should: we invented snow.

I would hold you legally accountable and encourage Bloomberg to do the same.

Why is there always a run on toilet paper at the stores?
