Shirley Fucking Temple.

Just a guess.

Kim (Kim), Saturday, 18 January 2003 02:25 (twenty-three years ago)

My sister buys it all the time so she can have Shirley Temples whenever she wants.

Melissa W (Melissa W), Saturday, 18 January 2003 02:32 (twenty-three years ago)

rosemary (rosemary), Saturday, 18 January 2003 03:27 (twenty-three years ago)

I guzzle the shit. Boo-Yah. I'm pretty hip-hop, so just like $150 X.O. cognac, I mix grenadine with pepsi.

Helltime Producto (Pavlik), Saturday, 18 January 2003 06:28 (twenty-three years ago)

anthony easton (anthony), Saturday, 18 January 2003 06:48 (twenty-three years ago)

toraneko (toraneko), Saturday, 18 January 2003 07:50 (twenty-three years ago)

Ahhh, just listened to "Decca" off that Grenadine album and that's a real night-maker.

And grenadine's good, though a splash from the maraschino cherry jar is so much better.

Andy, Saturday, 18 January 2003 09:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I misread the question as 'Geraldine'.

MarkH (MarkH), Saturday, 18 January 2003 11:24 (twenty-three years ago)

I hope tonight Gareth and Mary pound more grenadine based drinks than the mind can comfortably conceive.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 18 January 2003 15:34 (twenty-three years ago)

grenadine is quality!
i don't think you can get it in ireland though,at least i've never seen it here....

robin (robin), Saturday, 18 January 2003 17:54 (twenty-three years ago)

A key item in Tequila Sunrise.

brg30 (brg30), Saturday, 18 January 2003 21:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Flip Wilson = Geraldine

Sean (Sean), Saturday, 18 January 2003 22:15 (twenty-three years ago)

I had a talking Flip Wilson/Geraldine doll when I was a kid.

That Girl (thatgirl), Saturday, 18 January 2003 22:51 (twenty-three years ago)

I do, for the reason brg suggest. My parents even bought a bottle over Christmas so I could make them sunrises. MMM!

Mark C (Mark C), Sunday, 19 January 2003 17:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Don't drink grenades, they could damage your teeth

jel -- (jel), Sunday, 19 January 2003 18:43 (twenty-three years ago)

I live in a town that has a Flip Wilson Boulevard.

rosemary (rosemary), Sunday, 19 January 2003 19:07 (twenty-three years ago)

In the summer, I put it in non-alcohlic girldrinks for my wife.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Monday, 20 January 2003 11:28 (twenty-three years ago)

Rosemary, you must show me this Flip Wilson Boulevard sometime.

M Matos (M Matos), Monday, 20 January 2003 11:29 (twenty-three years ago)

I ordered it once from the bar in the Cumbrian hostel I was staying...oh, ok, *living* in. It was a pre-Partridgean moment. The gruff barman watched me drink it in utter disgust. I did it as a tribute to Jenny T**mey. I like to think it started a butterfly-effect sequence of coincidences that led to my marriage. God knows what would've happened if I'd gone for the triple sec.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Monday, 20 January 2003 16:28 (twenty-three years ago)

The tequila sunrise is classic, but the JADE SUNRISE (substitute Midori for grenadine) is CLASSIC.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 20 January 2003 16:31 (twenty-three years ago)

nine months pass...
?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 23 October 2003 11:13 (twenty-two years ago)

You can't make a good strawberry Margarita without it.

(This may answer the question in a way I didn't intend, i.e. "ponces")

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 23 October 2003 11:38 (twenty-two years ago)

WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH GRENADINE?

allyzay, Thursday, 23 October 2003 16:32 (twenty-two years ago)

IT STINGS WHEN YOU PUT IT ON WOUNDS!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 23 October 2003 16:36 (twenty-two years ago)

THAT'S THE MOST JACKASSED REASON TO HATE A BEVERAGE-ADDITIVE THAT I'VE EVER HEARD OF IN MY LIFE. SIR!!!

allyzay, Thursday, 23 October 2003 16:36 (twenty-two years ago)

my friend Yaohan

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 23 October 2003 16:37 (twenty-two years ago)

MY MUM!

FORTUNATELY FOR HER SHE DOESN'T USE IT TO SWAB WOUNDS! SO NO WORRIES THERE!

Enrique (Enrique), Thursday, 23 October 2003 16:39 (twenty-two years ago)

ONE TIME I PUT IT ON PANCAKES AND THAT WAS GOOD!

allyzay, Thursday, 23 October 2003 16:40 (twenty-two years ago)

ONE TIME I PUT A PANCAKE ON MY RABBITS HEAD AND TOOK A PICTURE AND EVERYBODY LIKED IT AND THEY WERE LIKE OH SNAP THAT'S SO FUCKING COOL AND THEN I STARTED SELLING TSHIRTS WITH THAT PICTURE ON IT AND NOW I CAN AFFORD SEVERAL HOMES STOCKED WITH THE FINEST WHORES THAT THE STATE OF MICHIGAN CAN PROVIDE AND THEY LIKE TO SIT AROUND AND HAVE TEA ALL DAY AND PLAY SHUFFLEBOARD FOR REASONS I HAVE YET TO FATHOM.

Kingfish (Kingfish), Thursday, 23 October 2003 16:43 (twenty-two years ago)

B-b-but don't they drink grenadine?

C J (C J), Thursday, 23 October 2003 16:54 (twenty-two years ago)

So is it always made with pomegranate juice? I got this organic produce box from the health food store last week, and they included a pomegranate, which I then attempted to eat last night, except it seemed like way too much work, and I wasn't really sure if I was doing it right, so I pulled out my Whole Foods Encyclopedia and looked under "pomegranate" and it said that it's used to make grenadine and you can actually make your own homemade grenadine with enough pomegranates!

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 23 October 2003 17:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Tequila Sunrise is a favorite drink of mine, even though I rarely drink it. I've had a bottle of grenadine lying around the house for about three years but it's still only about 3/4 empty.

I don't know where you would find grenadine that is actually made from pomegranate, though. The bottle of Rose's I have lists as ingredients: High fructose corn syrup, water, citric acid, natural and artificial flavors, sodium citrate, sodium benzoate (preservative), red 40, blue 1. Pretty bogus. Maybe it's a "natural" flavor.

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Thursday, 23 October 2003 17:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Pomegranates are the crablegs of the produce world.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 23 October 2003 17:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I had a bottle of grenadine at my house for a cocktail party once, and this girl I knew got drunk and took the bottle and started wandering all over the house sculling it straight from the bottle. Shit's like cordial, who'd drink it straight?? I had to follow everywhere behind her with a large salt shaker. She spilt it about 3 times.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 24 October 2003 03:13 (twenty-two years ago)

The Webtender lists 564 drinks with grenadine. They all look pretty damn nasty.

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Friday, 24 October 2003 03:43 (twenty-two years ago)

We get through grenadine at a shocking rate, mainly because it's one of the few cordials I like, so we always bring a couple of cheap bottles over from France

chris (chris), Friday, 24 October 2003 07:43 (twenty-two years ago)

i love it. to make extra-sweet cherry cokes, as well as with any girly cocktail. yum.
