Screw it...who makes you laugh most on ILX?

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Saturday, 18 January 2003 12:06 (twenty-three years ago)

In a good way or a bad way?

I mean, erm... laughing with or laughing *AT*?!?!?

kate, Saturday, 18 January 2003 12:07 (twenty-three years ago)

Either, I guess. Though I think we should stick to the former. We're nice, remember?

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Saturday, 18 January 2003 12:08 (twenty-three years ago)

Dan Perry, Dave Q, Jess when he was here, Trife, James Blount, N and Pete on occasion, gareth and mike wells also.

Ronan (Ronan), Saturday, 18 January 2003 12:09 (twenty-three years ago)

On the evidence I see before me, and from trawling ILX historical all morning, I'm going to go for Tracer Hand and second Jimmy Blount.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Saturday, 18 January 2003 12:09 (twenty-three years ago)

Doomie, Ally, Dan Perry, Ned, Mr. Noodles... and Mel W doesn't make me *laugh* so much, but she does make me giggle with delight quite frequently.

Shit, I'm being made to clean shit up so I can't go on.

kate, Saturday, 18 January 2003 12:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh Tracer aswell yeah, and Ron too. Ramosi was king of comedy back in the day.

Ronan (Ronan), Saturday, 18 January 2003 12:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Pete, N., mark s, Tom (on occassion), nabitsuh's self-deprecation/social weirdness, jess/trife's outright animosity, the idea of Momus, Ronan's anger, Sarah's silliness, Ramosi's (!!!) pornalia, Ned's unabashedness, Suzy's coruscatingness. I'm pretty much laughing all the time, on here.

Cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 18 January 2003 12:14 (twenty-three years ago)

DAN PERRY!

Cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 18 January 2003 12:15 (twenty-three years ago)

Has anyone seen a band called The Basement (in this week's NME): the lead singer looks extremely like Gareth.

Cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 18 January 2003 12:15 (twenty-three years ago)

Most people at some time or another.

jel -- (jel), Saturday, 18 January 2003 12:28 (twenty-three years ago)

Dan, Pete, Mark S, in particular, but as jel says.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 18 January 2003 12:48 (twenty-three years ago)

last person to make me laugh out loud = julio.

jel -- (jel), Saturday, 18 January 2003 13:14 (twenty-three years ago)

and don't forget about Hanle y!

jel -- (jel), Saturday, 18 January 2003 13:31 (twenty-three years ago)

mark s, s trife.

naked as sin (naked as sin), Saturday, 18 January 2003 13:36 (twenty-three years ago)

Di.

toraneko (toraneko), Saturday, 18 January 2003 14:15 (twenty-three years ago)

I think everybody here is funny in one way or another; mark s is hilarious but his humor is completely different from Dan Perry's, but they're both really funny.

Nicole (Nicole), Saturday, 18 January 2003 14:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Ned's unabashedness

Best damn compliment I've heard in quite a while! Thanks!

and don't forget about Hanle y!

I was about to say, only ONE mention of the man so far?! You people are slipping! He gave us the concept of the chickenbear, that is enough to immortalize him -- but he gives so much more!

Just about everyone else mentioned is downright godlike. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 18 January 2003 15:16 (twenty-three years ago)

most ppl here have me laugh/smile.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Saturday, 18 January 2003 15:41 (twenty-three years ago)

kate, dan perry, mark s, and ronan.

Maria (Maria), Saturday, 18 January 2003 18:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Myself.

, Saturday, 18 January 2003 18:50 (twenty-three years ago)

N., James Blount.

naked as sin (naked as sin), Saturday, 18 January 2003 18:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Ramosi and dave q are neck and neck. They're like two difft sides of whatever coin it is that makes me laugh these days. It feels strange to single them out though, because it only works in context. Just about everybody here has come out with some perfectly-timed little landmine at one point or another.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Saturday, 18 January 2003 19:40 (twenty-three years ago)

where is queen G? what is queen G? his/her comment on the Caligula thread was hilarious!

erik, Saturday, 18 January 2003 19:53 (twenty-three years ago)

Everyone who has posted to/been mentioned in/is reading this thread has made me laugh.

(haha I am a chickenshit)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Saturday, 18 January 2003 20:11 (twenty-three years ago)

Dan Perry is the funniest human being I've ever met.

Ally (mlescaut), Saturday, 18 January 2003 20:15 (twenty-three years ago)

Alex In NYC wins for me, because those damn Killing Joke photos always make my day.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Saturday, 18 January 2003 20:18 (twenty-three years ago)

Dan Perry, N., jel, Kate, Ronan, Di, Pete, Ramosi...i'm sure there are others that i'm forgetting. but most people on here make me laugh (in a good way)

sand.y, Saturday, 18 January 2003 20:30 (twenty-three years ago)

d k

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Saturday, 18 January 2003 20:41 (twenty-three years ago)

Dan Perry's outrageousness (& 'outraged' reactions), Ned Raggett's arch dryness, dave q's acerbic-ness, mark s's near-alien-insight switcharounds, N.'s rhetorical-question one-liners, Lord Custos Omega's run-with-it responses/examples, and electric sound of jim's sense of the absurd.

Snowy Mann (rdmanston), Saturday, 18 January 2003 21:14 (twenty-three years ago)

What makes me laugh most on ILX can't be credited to any one person, really, because it's the way the threads meander and degenerate (in a good way) -- the best of other message boards, without their worst.

That said, though: Dan & Ned & Kate & Ally, if only because that would be the best sitcom spinoff ever.

Tep (ktepi), Saturday, 18 January 2003 22:06 (twenty-three years ago)

Also the practicality of DJ Martian.

Cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 18 January 2003 22:19 (twenty-three years ago)

whatever happened to God,er, I mean Hanle y

That Girl (thatgirl), Saturday, 18 January 2003 22:36 (twenty-three years ago)

The absurdit y of Hanle y is amazing. (How man y times has this dislocated 'y' joke been made on ILx?)

Cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 18 January 2003 22:38 (twenty-three years ago)

Everyone mentioned (especially the Gentlemen from Athens and the Rimjob King) plus Alex in SF and boxcubed. Also, Gareth and Marcello and whoever else contributed to that Top 100 Nonexistent Songs thread. What was that called? I couldn't find it when I did a search.

Arthur (Arthur), Saturday, 18 January 2003 22:58 (twenty-three years ago)

dan (of course), dave q, queen g, di.. the usual suspects.

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Sunday, 19 January 2003 01:52 (twenty-three years ago)

oh and jel cracks me up all the time

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Sunday, 19 January 2003 01:59 (twenty-three years ago)

Fritz is really funny when he's pissed off.

Arthur (Arthur), Sunday, 19 January 2003 04:33 (twenty-three years ago)

dan perry, s trife, ramosi, dave q, alex in nyc, mark s, jel

geeta, Sunday, 19 January 2003 06:13 (twenty-three years ago)

custos makes me larf too but in a unique way

geeta, Sunday, 19 January 2003 06:16 (twenty-three years ago)

Hanle y, the God of Chickenbears and Anal Bats (and Sender of Free Music). Kim (who's not so grim). Erik (kladderkatjes always make me smile). mark s. (FZ-hater though he might be). dave q. (my evil twin). the hijinks of suzie and kate as roomies. dan p. of course.

list by no means exclusive, of course.

Tad (llamasfur), Sunday, 19 January 2003 06:17 (twenty-three years ago)

oh yeah, special mention to alex in nyc ... especially when he's pissed off about someone dishonoring the fire!

Tad (llamasfur), Sunday, 19 January 2003 06:21 (twenty-three years ago)

underrated: jel, geeta, Nicole, felicity, Mike Daddino. (I refuse to suck-up beyond that.)

bnw (bnw), Sunday, 19 January 2003 06:23 (twenty-three years ago)

chaki's devotion to the slogan "you know i'd hit it" is pretty great.

Ally (mlescaut), Sunday, 19 January 2003 06:26 (twenty-three years ago)

Tad - would it be too forward to say that I love you? Because I do. Mwah!

Kim (Kim), Sunday, 19 January 2003 07:32 (twenty-three years ago)

Blount and Daddino probably the most; the others that do have been mentioned lots of times. (I don't really have a sense of humor on ILx, do I?)

M Matos (M Matos), Sunday, 19 January 2003 07:39 (twenty-three years ago)

(oh wait I don't have one in real life either oops never mind!)

M Matos (M Matos), Sunday, 19 January 2003 07:42 (twenty-three years ago)

This is funny:

Their solo stuff (both guys) is boring. Their vocals & lyrics are stupid. There's too many records with boring versions of the same songs.
Yeah I still like em tho.

madeleine c, Sunday, 19 January 2003 08:37 (twenty-three years ago)

ha ha i love it when people conflate jess and ethan.

Dan I. (Dan I.), Sunday, 19 January 2003 08:41 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh M&M, you're plenty entertaining.

(Whoops -- this isn't the flirtation thread, is it?)

j.lu (j.lu), Sunday, 19 January 2003 08:54 (twenty-three years ago)

jel and rainy definitely make me laugh the most.

di smith (lucylurex), Sunday, 19 January 2003 09:06 (twenty-three years ago)

and queen g.

di smith (lucylurex), Sunday, 19 January 2003 10:35 (twenty-three years ago)

eek i totally forgot about N0RM4N PH4Y!! his posts rock my world

geeta, Sunday, 19 January 2003 10:56 (twenty-three years ago)

Queen G and N0RM4N PH4Y rock my world too.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Sunday, 19 January 2003 10:59 (twenty-three years ago)

mark s makes me piss myself, almost literally.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Sunday, 19 January 2003 11:11 (twenty-three years ago)

note to self: more work needed on that "almost"

mark s (mark s), Sunday, 19 January 2003 11:49 (twenty-three years ago)

gideon yago and la la

chaki (chaki), Sunday, 19 January 2003 11:57 (twenty-three years ago)

NORM4N PH4Y 4 DELIVERY.

naked as sin (naked as sin), Sunday, 19 January 2003 13:03 (twenty-three years ago)

Hanle y, Dan Perry, Mark S, Chaki, Sterling Clover and DQ.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Sunday, 19 January 2003 18:45 (twenty-three years ago)

(also underrated: josh)

bnw (bnw), Sunday, 19 January 2003 18:57 (twenty-three years ago)

I hate queen g. And johs seems like a prick too.

, Sunday, 19 January 2003 18:59 (twenty-three years ago)

the random trolls

felicity in London (gareth), Sunday, 19 January 2003 22:01 (twenty-three years ago)

My grilfriend's 11-year-old brother pisses himself if he gets excited, so I'm told. I've not seen it myself, but I look forward with both delight and trepidation.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Sunday, 19 January 2003 23:18 (twenty-three years ago)

And No, my 'grilfriend' is not a mate I take down the 'All-You-Can-Eat'.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Sunday, 19 January 2003 23:19 (twenty-three years ago)

RJG is hilarious

Mandee, Monday, 20 January 2003 02:21 (twenty-three years ago)

Ramosi, mark s, Hanle y. And I crack myself up, so fuck all y'all anyway.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Monday, 20 January 2003 11:26 (twenty-three years ago)

Arthur, the thread in question is here:

Top 100 non-existent singles you've just made up

Marcello Carlin, Monday, 20 January 2003 11:32 (twenty-three years ago)

DAMN that was funny! (too bad I'd burned myself out on doing actual/quasi top 100s already...)

M Matos (M Matos), Monday, 20 January 2003 11:36 (twenty-three years ago)

And we mustn't forget the glory that is:

IL* Challenge!

Dr C played a blinder in this thread, I think you'll agree.

Marcello Carlin, Monday, 20 January 2003 11:38 (twenty-three years ago)

two years pass...
bill hicks is well funny

colin, Wednesday, 16 November 2005 03:39 (twenty years ago)

I'm a great fan of the tragi-comic stylings of Mariesa Sabriel

Abbadabba Berman (Hurting), Wednesday, 16 November 2005 03:53 (twenty years ago)
