I just blew $### at the Borders down the street from my new apt. (first visit).

Books:

The Art of Deception Kevin Mitnick (the reason I went in the first place)
Basket Case Carl Hiaasen
Nigger Randall Kennedy (this is so going next to The Redneck Manifesto, everybody will think I'm a bastard)
The Power of Babel John McWhorter
Tao of Jeet Kune Do Bruce Lee

CD's:

Best of Bowie David Bowie
The Best of Parliament: 20th Century Masters Parliament
Melody A.M. Royksöpp
No Nose Job: The Legend of Digital Underground Digital Underground
Party Music The Coup
Swingin' New Big Band Buddy Rich
Whatever and ever Amen Ben Folds Five

DVD's:

Ghost World Daniel Clowes & Terry Zwigoff ("On Over 140 Top-Ten Lists")
The Ninth Configuration William Peter Blatty ("Endlessly quotable dialogue and an amazing barroom fight scene")

Please mercilessly tear away at

1. My apparent obsession with 'Best of' shit
2. My complete lack of rational spending control

I have respect for people who buy best of albums, so well done.

Ghost World is essential. I haven't heard of most of those books, so I can't judge.

jel -- (jel), Sunday, 19 January 2003 14:02 (twenty-three years ago)

Tom, you have great taste. I would damn you for buying the Ben Folds, but it's occasionally a guilty pleasure of mine. The Ghost World DVD is indeed essential, though I would have loved a commentary instead of that throwaway clip of Daniel Clowes drawing himself.

I bought a shirt and a skirt last night. Total was around $75.
Big spending spree for me.
Been getting greedy buying things on the SIMS.
