Anyone find the last 10 or so threads to be utterly uninteresting?

Sorry guys, but seriously, I was trying to find one I wanted to post on and I failed.

Ronan, Sunday, 26 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i thought the porn thread was interesting. Post your own .

anthony, Sunday, 26 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Yeah I did, see.

Ronan, Sunday, 26 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Well, excuse me for getting engaged and excuse two people for dying, I guess. Jesus, be a little ruder.

Ally, Sunday, 26 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

1. You don't have to post just on the last 10 threads
2. The world doesn't exist purely for your diversion

mark s, Sunday, 26 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

That's right... it exists for MINE!!!

*twiddles knobs on World-Control-O-Matic and thousands of miles away, mark s. turns into gigantic sea bass*

*cackles*

Dave M., Sunday, 26 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

1. No-one has died in the last ten threads. 2. I find all of them dull as well. 3. That could be my problem. The world does not exist for my enjoyment, although it should, obviously.

Ally C, Sunday, 26 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Well I find them interesting, a lot more interesting than just MOANING anyway. If threads are boring you, start your own, 'more interesting' thread. This isn't rocket science, people.

DG, Sunday, 26 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

This thread is pretty exciting.
Taking sides : Rocket science vs. airing washing that you didn't even wash yet.

duane, Sunday, 26 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I think the Aaliyah one was the tenth I made a rough estimate of how many threads, your engagement wasn't in the last ten anyway, Congratulations! I apologise for any offence caused.

Ronan, Monday, 27 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Re: Dull threads.

Ronan, this thread is part of the problem, not the soloution.

DavidM, Monday, 27 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Yes I was going for chic post modernist ironic sardonicism

Ronan, Monday, 27 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

one year passes...

Duane (lucylurex), Thursday, 15 May 2003 07:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Then: Zelda Fitzgerald
Now: Zelda Wind Waker

Is Ally still engaged, then?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 15 May 2003 08:02 (twenty-three years ago)

ILE has been ace recently, as good as its ever been.* I attribute this to a lack of flaming, fewer pointless list threads and a few old posters coming back to fold - Tim H and Robin C in particular.

*This may not be the case if you hate football, however.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 15 May 2003 08:05 (twenty-three years ago)

This may not be the case if you hate football, however

I can confirm this.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 15 May 2003 08:11 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah fuck a football

duane (lucylurex), Thursday, 15 May 2003 08:21 (twenty-three years ago)

i didnt revive this thread 'cause of that tho, i just thought it was funny in a sort of meaningless way, you know

duane (lucylurex), Thursday, 15 May 2003 08:22 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm enjoying ILx more than I have in months, largely due to the amount of footie, and the mostly sensible discussion thereof.

chris (chris), Thursday, 15 May 2003 08:26 (twenty-three years ago)

its just not Londocentric enough lately

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 15 May 2003 08:28 (twenty-three years ago)

On AIM last night I suggested setting up ILFooty because its become a bit pervasive.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 15 May 2003 08:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Ed the season ends for good in about a fortnight - patience grasshopper etc.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Thursday, 15 May 2003 08:43 (twenty-three years ago)

I think ILE is good at the moment too, btw.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Thursday, 15 May 2003 08:44 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah it's no aug. '01 but it's ok

duane (lucylurex), Thursday, 15 May 2003 08:48 (twenty-three years ago)

Alan (Alan), Thursday, 15 May 2003 09:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Ed you might - might - have a point if the number of football threads was really high but there are six or seven (out of a hundred) on the new answers board right now, and that's counting the Digitiser thread because it mentions E. Cantona. It's the climax of the season,
things are being decided, lots of things happening etc. It's hardly stifling other conversations, is it?

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 15 May 2003 09:07 (twenty-three years ago)

I'd just like to reiterate my undying opposition to the establishment of more specialist forums. This is I Love EVERYTHING, innit?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 15 May 2003 09:28 (twenty-three years ago)

But yes, footie threads are likely to subside after the season ends properly... it's like calling for an I Love War forum a month ago because every third thread was about Iraq.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 15 May 2003 09:29 (twenty-three years ago)

A little football goes a long way. Particularly if you hate it as all reasonable people do.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 15 May 2003 09:32 (twenty-three years ago)

A little football goes a long way.

Such is the beauty of the English game.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Thursday, 15 May 2003 09:36 (twenty-three years ago)

ILX lately has been very good yes, most consistently good spell in ages.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 15 May 2003 09:47 (twenty-three years ago)

My enjoyment of ILX is directly related to the amount I talk about sex, and the amount I flirt with hstencil. So yes, it's been great lately.

kate, Thursday, 15 May 2003 10:05 (twenty-three years ago)

ILX has probably been good because I haven't been posting as much lately.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 15 May 2003 11:42 (twenty-three years ago)

but then I can't post much because ILX keeps going really, really slow.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 15 May 2003 11:43 (twenty-three years ago)

does it? i've been wondering about that.

Alan (Alan), Thursday, 15 May 2003 11:53 (twenty-three years ago)

It seems to be going in fits and spurts (haha "Fits and Spurts" shd be the title of the book on the history of ilx).

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 15 May 2003 11:56 (twenty-three years ago)

It's OK for me but I've not been connecting on a slow dial-up.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Thursday, 15 May 2003 11:56 (twenty-three years ago)

it's mainly around 6pm that it goes a bit wonky, right now it's working fine. I sometimes think it might be my ISP, but other sites work okay.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 15 May 2003 11:57 (twenty-three years ago)

i like all the football threads, so i've been using ILE a bit more. ILM seems to be getting a bit better, after a slump...

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Thursday, 15 May 2003 11:57 (twenty-three years ago)

there are loads of thread titles on ILM that make me roll my eyes (not really) and think there must be an awful lot of cock being farmed

Alan (Alan), Thursday, 15 May 2003 12:06 (twenty-three years ago)

penis agriculture is now a legitimate business

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Thursday, 15 May 2003 12:06 (twenty-three years ago)

The ranks of the NCFU are swelling daily.

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 15 May 2003 12:07 (twenty-three years ago)

But cock-farming without a licence is still illegal.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 15 May 2003 12:08 (twenty-three years ago)

A bumper cock harvest this year yes.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Thursday, 15 May 2003 12:09 (twenty-three years ago)

i take that back. no threads right now in NA, but over the last couple of weeks there have been plenty to piss me off. (note i haven't actually read them, I am judging a thread by it's title)

Alan (Alan), Thursday, 15 May 2003 12:11 (twenty-three years ago)

Jel, do you have a pic of all your puzzle pieces put together (from the 20 things?) I got two of them. Bottom Right and Top Right.

I think we need more pretty things on here, because today is a beautiful day (and the Nickses birthdays).

Sarah MCLUsky (coco), Thursday, 15 May 2003 12:18 (twenty-three years ago)

How long has Ronan been complaining about ILX's inadequacies anyway?

Rockist Scientist, Thursday, 15 May 2003 13:07 (twenty-three years ago)

It's his schtick

chris (chris), Thursday, 15 May 2003 13:10 (twenty-three years ago)

Sarah, in my rush to get them out, I forgot to scan them! And I thought it'd be cool to have these bits of a picture spread all over the world! :)

I got the ILXOR 20 things yesterday! They roxor!!!! Thanks!!!

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 15 May 2003 13:15 (twenty-three years ago)

Actually I went through a long phase of complaining about people complaining about ILX, when N was Nick and shoelaces were fat.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 15 May 2003 13:16 (twenty-three years ago)

I would love to keep kate happy.

hstencil, Thursday, 15 May 2003 13:20 (twenty-three years ago)

the football threads need more fashion-centric thinking and pictures of cute footballers (that may be impossible) though japan has some cute footballers that aren't too stocky

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 15 May 2003 19:05 (twenty-three years ago)

Wait. Does "footie" refer to football discussions? Please tell me it's not so. PLEASE!!!

(I had been thinking that "footie" referred to discussions of attractive feet, foot fetishes, maybe even shoes - shoe worship - foot rubs... I am so damn disillusioned!

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Thursday, 15 May 2003 19:24 (twenty-three years ago)

Sorry Laura.

Cute footballer: I keep forgetting his name, but the lovely French bloke who does the 'va va voom' advet for some car. I hear he is a footballer anyway.

Anna (Anna), Thursday, 15 May 2003 19:28 (twenty-three years ago)

yes i suppose footie could mean sock

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 15 May 2003 19:40 (twenty-three years ago)

I like the thighs on those Australian Rules footballers, if that counts.

And I had a three-night stand with a goalie for some football team from Barcelona (who also had excellent thighs, come to think of it).

Mary - kind of like a "bootie"?

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Thursday, 15 May 2003 19:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Is Ally still engaged, then?

Yes, to god. I'm joining the order.

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 15 May 2003 19:44 (twenty-three years ago)

MY God Laura, who was it? a professional team?

chris (chris), Friday, 16 May 2003 07:29 (twenty-three years ago)

"Some football team from Barcelona..."

?!!!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 16 May 2003 07:36 (twenty-three years ago)

Was it Ruud Hesp?

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 16 May 2003 07:42 (twenty-three years ago)

no, Ruud Helf

stevem (blueski), Friday, 16 May 2003 08:29 (twenty-three years ago)

I know someone who had an affair with Mark Bosnich (this was corroborated, sort of, when my friend saw him come out of the shower). Not as good though.

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 16 May 2003 17:38 (twenty-three years ago)

I shall never say who he was. But he made my "Top 10" list. Easily. Maybe even my "Top Three," come to think of it. *Happily drifting off in the memories, trying to refrain from drooling*

And yes, he's still playing - I catch him on the satellite feeds occasionally and usually yell "Hey, I _______ (fill this in) that guy!" Which can be embarassing if I'm in a sports bar or something).

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Saturday, 17 May 2003 01:46 (twenty-three years ago)

If you find it tedious to read random people arguing via the internet on the subjects of politics, sports and music, then you're surely mad
