Matos birthday FAP in NYC, 18 February

Hey--I'm turning 28 years old on 18 February (that's a Tuesday), and I want you to help me celebrate. I'm thinking the Magician on the Lower East Side, since it's pretty much NYC's official ILx bar anyway, will be the spot. I'm having dinner beforehand, around seven, so the FAP will begin at 9pm. Please post a reply if you plan to show. I'll be having many of my non-ILx friends there, too, so it should be a fun evening. Thanks!

when we went there Sunday after Luomo it was completely dead, and this is the night before MLK day, which a lot of folks had off. Besides, it's large and that corner table always seems to open itself up for us.

Maybe psuedo-hipness is the wrong phrase. More like, "Holy shit, people actually go here?" It was always my standby if Welcome to the Johnsons was too crowded (i.e. couldn't get a game of pool) because it was _always_ empty.

On a related note, there is an incipient plan to visit Donut Bitch up in Seattle for a few days. At least five people are in on this, probably more. I say Memorial Day Weekend becomes DBFEST!

Also, I am thinking of visiting NYC for July 4th. :-)

Yes, and the people who I have NOT met yet in the NYC area (Felicity, Mary, JBR, etc.) are specifically requested not to leave for that weekend on some dubious holiday thing or else I'll cry.

I'm also planning on getting to London for Tom's wedding celebrations, so that means a separate Dublin FAP, hitting up the London folks I haven't met yet (Dr. C, Marcello, Mark S, Dave Q dammit, etc.), etc.

despite having to leave early (after only two pints!) and basically saying "hi/bye" to geeta, it was still nice to see the people from these parts that still remember me from the old days. it was also a pleasure to meet mr stencil, as well--get ahold of me about the touch album. also, if you don't know of parson sound, you'd probably like them, they're similar, in a kind of pentangle-meet-the-vu way.
