Good God, a whole DAY without ILE at work. How frightful my dears? How did YOU cope?

shudder

maura, Wednesday, 29 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I whined and bitched about it. And read up on some other stuff on the interweb.

President Bush, Wil Wheaton, baseball stuff, Billboard SoundScan scandal stuff - it was a productive day.

I'm not sure I even wanna come back now. Hmm...

David Raposa, Wednesday, 29 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i started a blog and wrote about bus stops, built to spill and stuff i've been reading. it seems like more than a day...*looks for a life*

jel, Wednesday, 29 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

The Onion archives, planning my trip out east that starts in an hour.

zacko, Wednesday, 29 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Hadn't looked at it for a while, so not so much effect. Usual effect now of returning to unfamiliar stuff and feeling out of it. I sent loads of e-mails, actually.

the pinefox, Wednesday, 29 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Yesterday, we had an exciting hostage standoff a few blocks from here. As I was busy all day checking out the news reports filtering in, I hardly noticed. However, I really started to miss it this morning.

Kerry, Wednesday, 29 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I wrote stuff on a piece of paper and didnt post replies to myself. It was almost exactly the same.

Ronan, Wednesday, 29 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Read everything on the metal-sludge.com site, the stories about Skid Row are HILARIOUS.

dave q, Wednesday, 29 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I downloaded a Wilco song, attempted to write an essay on Renoir and Modernism and felt a nagging, distant panic. Oh, yeah- they just started the local, 24hr version of Big Brother, so every now and then I watched a bunch of people doing nothing and arguing over whether the stuff in the fridge looks more like butter or cheese.

Mitch Lastnamewithheld, Wednesday, 29 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Like a fair number of other posters I talked shite on the London- Indie mailing list. Not I hasten to add about London Indie but about Five, mostly.

Tom, Wednesday, 29 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I've been playing Grim Fandango! What a good game that is. Before that I finished Freespace 2, which woz easy as it lets you skip levels if you are rubbish, like me. Later I will act on an idea I had during the drought, that being to go through my music collectiona and have a damn good clearout. Ian Brown? How in God's name did that get there?

DG, Wednesday, 29 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Actually did some work for a change. God I don't want to do that again.

Billy Dods, Wednesday, 29 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I updated my website. I did work. I went and had a drink and dinner out. I did tarot cards til 3am. Except for the website it was a totally normal day

Ally, Wednesday, 29 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I went to ANOTHER MAGAZINE where I DON'T HAVE A COMPUTER SCREEN and had to work ON PAPER with a PEN all afternoon. Neolithic.

mark s, Wednesday, 29 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I went to a funearl and wrote some stuff.

anthony, Wednesday, 29 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I went to the office of a Gracious Former Employer to "check my email" and they were confused when I left after 2 minutes.

Tracer Hand, Wednesday, 29 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

played internet scrabble and WON by fifty or sixty points.

Lyra, Wednesday, 29 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I emailed people like a mad thing and did something that could vaguely be construed as work.

Richard Tunnicliffe, Wednesday, 29 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I fretted. And now my main work computer isn't working, so fuck everything.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 29 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Hurrah, it returned. Now all is peace. But I did actually get a lot of work done, meaning the next two weeks will be absolute nothing. Yay!

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 29 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Caught up on sleep, spent nine hours to go to see Josie and the Pussycats (2 hours on train to nearest place showing it, an hour to walk to out-of-town cinema, get there late, wait 1 hour+ for next screening, etc).

Graham, Wednesday, 29 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

The ILE regulars who post to the London Indie mailing list got told off:
"can people please not write tosh about name servers and nonsense related to something else completely unrelated to the london indie stuff. its not right now is it. or write it somewhere else. i don't remember signing up to london indie with it being a substitute for 'something else' and it aint. i'm sure you were all very bored but no need to drag the rest of us down."
Hee hee!

DG, Wednesday, 29 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I bought myself a pair of rollerblades. I thought it was going to be easier. Apparently not. I have been practicing in my house. I don't want to be a total twat by falling on my bum the minute I get out.

nathalie, Thursday, 30 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Erm... shagged quite a bit. :-)

Paul fixed the computer. I think I mainly wrote email, and got in fights with other band members.

Kate the Saint, Thursday, 30 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I did karate.

Nick, Thursday, 30 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I wrote loads of e-mails, many of them a lot longer than the 2 line one's that I seem to write more and more of. Work stuff got done for a change and I looked up stuff on the internet about various things. It felt quite odd though.

cabbage, Thursday, 30 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Ajax footie forum, plenty time to still congratulate each other on beating the cockroaches in R*tterdam last sunday. So much details to discuss, for instance the faces of F*y*n**rd fans when we went up 0- 2 :)

Omar, Thursday, 30 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Congratulations Omar, I missed that result, Liverpool have just nicked their keeper too!

cabbage, Thursday, 30 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Yeah thanks. :) Dudek = good buy btw. Just hoping LFC don't unload Westerveld on Ajax.

Omar, Thursday, 30 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I spent an amazing amount of time in the eBay vintage clothing section.

I didn't actually BUY anything. How dull am I? Thank god ILE is back. ILE - saves you money.

Sarah, Thursday, 30 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I checked ILE every five minutes when it was broken and then when it unbroke I didn't actually check it and find out that it had returned for several hours. Gah. I also slept quite a bit, decided to follow some more OpenGL tutorials, realised I was too lazy, and tried to recreate Kid Spatula's "Qisope" in my trusty sequencer instead, then got too lazy and too confused after several hours of playing around and 50 seconds of resulting sequencing and put some shitty breakcore- by-numbers deth beatz underneath the lot. I also sent off a cheque to keep my webpage hosted for another year even though there isn't anything there and there never will be and drank lots of caffeine. Thrills, eh?

I also continued my quest to get everyone I know saying "= pure rock". "Qisope" = pure rock. Caffeine (but not the band) = pure rock. Boards of Canada - "Zoetrope" = pure swoonsome rock. Yeah!

Rebecca, Thursday, 30 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

one month passes...
I bought a sackful of plums, rearranged my room, visited Caroline at her apt. on Ludlow St., went to bed early. Did you guys know that there are some other sites out there on the electronic future web that aren't that bad? Starry vs. Baddies!!

Tracer Hand, Thursday, 25 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I don't know. I came to feel that the rest of the www was kind of dull. So I actually went away and got some work done. Cor.

the pinefox, Thursday, 25 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I read Starry vs Baddies as well! I too think the Essex Green ming.

james, Thursday, 25 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I was really much more productive: wrote some, caught up on a bunch of little things I had been meaning to do. It's made me do a bit of rethink about things, to be honest.

Nicole, Thursday, 25 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i spent more time at work being productive rather than computing. i had a tenancy mediation, unfortunately my old flat have to pay our old landlord $400, cos he's a feckin liar. then i went to fuel with menelaus and steve and kathleen was there and she accosted me and we exchanged saliva and phone numbers... yeah, you could say i had a good time IRL but fuck i missed y'all!

di, Thursday, 25 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Continued everything else I always do, ie overthink everything and turn everything into the biggest drama ever. And wore sexy clothing doing it.

Ally, Thursday, 25 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

PS2, because I am addicted to repetitive activities. I was a samurai and got to kill lots of demons, yes! YES!

I also went out a bit, visited the pubs caught up with friends and missed the opportunity to vent my spleen. I missed you all so much, and I could not get onto the top 50

Menelaus Darcy, Thursday, 25 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i meditated on a mountain top.

duane, Friday, 26 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

di, Friday, 26 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 4 September 2003 22:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Thanks to Andrew for spending all that time fixing things. And Thanks to Sean for the extra RAM.

Ed (dali), Friday, 5 September 2003 05:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Drank a bunch of hot toddy's and nyquil.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Friday, 5 September 2003 12:11 (twenty-two years ago)
