I woke up crying

I woke up crying on Sunday morning. I dreamt that I was dead and that I was trying to communicate with my fella from beyond the grave by switching on radios.

I cried for five minutes on waking, feeling awful miserable at the tragedy of it all, then realised I'd just played the part of Patrick Swizzlestick in Ghost.

And suddenly I started to think that maybe it wasn't such a bad film after all. Or was it?

nickie (nickie), Monday, 3 February 2003 13:43 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't think it's that bad a film, but I don't think it's too great either. I had a dream that there was a terrible war, and I went online to check who was OK from all the lists & boards I'm into. most of the people from most of the boards were OK, but on one mail list I'm on, almost no-one was responding. It was really awful, & when I woke up I felt terrible!!

I was so ready to be all sympathetic, Miss B. But it seems you're not taking DREAM DEATH seriously. It happens to me all the time and I get very disturbed by it.

I hope my life doesn't have a Sixth Sense-style plot twist.

Mark C (Mark C), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:02 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm taking dream death v seriously, cordyboy. Do you dream about dying or being dead?

My dreams are becoming an orrible place to spend a night. If I'm not being attacked and unable to make a sound or being made sweet love to by Michael Hutchence, I'm clanking my chains around the other world. It really was very frightening.

nickie (nickie), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:09 (twenty-three years ago)

I was trying to communicate with my fella from beyond the grave by switching on radios.

This made me think of Cocteau's 'Orphée' rather 'Ghost', Nickie, so you have an arthouse get-out clause if necessary.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:09 (twenty-three years ago)

*it's you*

Lara (Lara), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:10 (twenty-three years ago)

Hmmm... I have lots of dreams where other people die and ones where people who are dead are alive again (but not in zombie form). However, I rarely have dreams in which I die. If I do, it usually involves a car crash, which is a pretty likely way to go.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:11 (twenty-three years ago)

I dreamt about being hugged to sleep by a lovely man at the weekend. On waking I wept like a child.

Lara (Lara), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:12 (twenty-three years ago)

I am sometimes dead but usually dying. Like it has been ordained and there's nothing I can do about. I think it's connected to my guilt about my constant procrastination.

Mark C (Mark C), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:14 (twenty-three years ago)

i dreamt that Vvienne Westwood gave a death metal concert and was boo-ed off stage (true!).

I woke up, only slightly confused.

erik, Monday, 3 February 2003 14:15 (twenty-three years ago)

Thank you, Jerry the Nipper. Art-house get-out gratefully received.

But does it have a sexy pottery scene in it?

nickie (nickie), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:18 (twenty-three years ago)

Does Ghost??

Lara (Lara), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:20 (twenty-three years ago)

Mark... that sounds like the storyline of Philadelphia.

nickie (nickie), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:20 (twenty-three years ago)

No, but it does have Jean Marais.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:20 (twenty-three years ago)

Remember all those scenes with Patrick and Demi getting it on are actually WHOOPI and Demi getting it on.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:23 (twenty-three years ago)

It's the This Charming Man fella!

And he looks a little like Patrick Swayze.

And somehow, everything comes full circle.

nickie (nickie), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:24 (twenty-three years ago)

Now all you have to do is tell us what Michael Hutchence was doing to you....?

Lara (Lara), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:25 (twenty-three years ago)

What happens in the erotic chambers of my mind must stay there, Lara. But I can't help getting a special feeling every time I see a picture of him...

nickie (nickie), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:27 (twenty-three years ago)

I had good dreams last night. Oh, yeah. That's what I'm talkin' 'bout.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:28 (twenty-three years ago)

Empty out the erotic chambers of your mind, McLusky!!

nickie (nickie), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:29 (twenty-three years ago)

I'd like to say that it isn't a family thing.

Lara (Lara), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:30 (twenty-three years ago)

But I can't...

Lara (Lara), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:30 (twenty-three years ago)

What you sayin'? Has... has...has he being seeing you too? The brute!

nickie (nickie), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:32 (twenty-three years ago)

What happens in the erotic chambers of my blah blah blah...

Lara (Lara), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:33 (twenty-three years ago)

in your dreams, byrne

nickie (nickie), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:34 (twenty-three years ago)

I once had a dream that I fell in love with a dead guy who flew around like in that Disney movie "the Boy Who Could Fly." When I woke up, I cried and cried because I missed him so much. I was 9 years old at the time.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:35 (twenty-three years ago)

I cannot believe that my attempt to derail the thread with hot Whoopie-on-Demi action didn't work!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:35 (twenty-three years ago)

The erotic chambers of our minds hold more lusty treasures.

Lara (Lara), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:37 (twenty-three years ago)

I was in denial that you ever mentioned it, DP - you know, trying to get those images out of my head and everything...

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:38 (twenty-three years ago)

treasures = pleasures

Lara (Lara), Monday, 3 February 2003 14:51 (twenty-three years ago)

b-b-but what if you dreamt abt vivienne westwood giving a death metal concert, what does it all mean? I dunno know really.

erik, Monday, 3 February 2003 15:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Awww, big hugs to Nickie. You will find you Whoopi Goldberg don't worry.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 3 February 2003 16:06 (twenty-three years ago)

I can only hope, Graham.

And you will get your Christmas present...eventually. By hook or by crook I will prove that Dastoor wrong!

nickie (nickie), Monday, 3 February 2003 16:41 (twenty-three years ago)

Last night (and this is true) I woke up after an hour convinced that something was holding me down and was attacking me. I did not struggle and then I decided that in fact I was having a terrible enormous bout of gushing diahorrea. And *then* I thought, no, it's not that either - it's just the cat has got in my room and is on my chest. Finally, I discovered that it was all in my head. I put it down to sleeping on my back.

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 3 February 2003 18:37 (twenty-three years ago)

I often wake up thinking someone is standing in the doorway of my bedroom staring at me. I'll open my eyes really fast and panic but the door is closed and bf is sleeping soundly beside me.
