Not really, He-man derived his power from Grey Skull, he never had the same notions of religion/the other as a Jedi did. There is no doubt for He-man that the POWER works for him, it's his, whereas a Jedi, has to give themself to the force to be able to harness it's power/insight.

What about that crap in that first new Star Wars movie about small molecules really being the force? I tried to ignore that along with Jar Jar, but I seem to recall there being some sort of "explaination" as to what the force actually is...

Side note: explaining zen-like spiritual powers in terms of molecules = DUD!

The Force in TPM - mitochondria yada yada - certain individuals are able to connnect with the universe on a molecular level or somesuch.

Which sounds primordial enough to mean that the Force = The Power of Grayskull and furthermore, in He-Man's world, only he and She-Ra (like Luke and Leia) have twigged the potential and became the dog's bollox at channelling the power of da universe.

The mitochondria bs was further proof that Lucas is, to quote Morpheus, 'Starting to believe'. And the Virgin Birth stuff too. Sheesh.

The Force is clearly the same as The Source in Jack Kirby's great Fourth World comics. Also, Darth Vader = Jack's Darkseid. Orion, Darkseid's son as it is revealed as the series progresses, and his pal Lightray are slightly remixed into Luke (though the name comes from Mark Moonwalker, of course) and Hans. There are other points of similarity too. Note that Lucas is a comic fan, and can hardly have missed these comics in the early '70s by the highest profile and greatest superhero creator ever.
