I just saw Letter from an Unknown Woman (*sob*) so I must say Joan. Alida's face is a little too angular for me, besides.

Was Alida Valli ever considered dreamy?? Search Suspiria anyway.

I say Alida Valli. She was in Suspiria, Joan was in one of Hammer's crappiest films The Witches.

I vote for Alida Valli--very cool in "Third Man." Also, better name.

Did I say she was dreamy? I meant to say she looks pretty in a dressing gown.

I say Joan Fontaine was the dreamier and coolest. Who could be dreamier than she was in "Rebecca" or "This Above All" or "Letter from an Unknown Woman?" Beside who the heck is Alida Valli?

It's time to get new glasses, I thought this was a comparison between Joan Fontaine and Alan Alda. Now that's a contest.

I gotta go with Joan Fontaine. She is awesome!

No contest for me...it is Joan Fontaine who raised the bar on dreamy characterizations.
