So what exactly *do* cats want out of relationships?

This isn't another pointless piece of thread riffing (honest).

I want to know if they are happy, but that inscrutable thing just makes me lose interest.

they want your soul.

Mark C (Mark C), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 23:08 (twenty-three years ago)

Has it really come to this?

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 23:08 (twenty-three years ago)

food, pats, and to be let outside whenever they feel like it

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 23:08 (twenty-three years ago)

I think they mainly want to not be shut in wardrobes all day.

do you mean man-cat relationships or cat-cat relationships?

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 23:09 (twenty-three years ago)

someone to pay for "lion" cuts.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 23:09 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't know about man-cats. Cat-(cat?)s.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 23:10 (twenty-three years ago)

(HAHA N I have already made that response into a new thread!)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 23:11 (twenty-three years ago)

Cats want to be stroked until they purr.

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 23:12 (twenty-three years ago)

food, pats, and to be let outside whenever they feel like it

Over Thanksgiving I visited my aunt and uncle. Their cat Chuck wanted to be let in and out so often we told my aunt that she needs to start wearing a doorman's uniform.

They want waited on hand and foot at their every beconing Meow.

brg30 (brg30), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 23:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Cats want to be stroked until they purr.

Cats = women!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 23:13 (twenty-three years ago)

V-e-r-y g-o-o-d, D-a-n.

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 23:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Cats are also like men in that they are always yearning for another pussy to rub up against.

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 23:15 (twenty-three years ago)

They want waited on hand and foot at their every beconing Meow.

But what about that thing where cats gravitate towards people who don't like cats? (or is that an old catwives' tail?)

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 23:15 (twenty-three years ago)

I am allergic to cats mostly.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 23:16 (twenty-three years ago)

Cats are meant to seek what they cannot have.

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 23:17 (twenty-three years ago)

felinekind = mankind

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 23:18 (twenty-three years ago)

Is this where we hug?

Thought not.

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 23:19 (twenty-three years ago)

I meant...if they stay away from me...I won't kick them.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 23:19 (twenty-three years ago)

Pussy-kicker.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 23:20 (twenty-three years ago)

(avoids temptation to make cheap jokes about pussies)

C J (C J), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 23:20 (twenty-three years ago)

Why?

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 23:22 (twenty-three years ago)

CJ, you disappoint me.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 23:43 (twenty-three years ago)

Cats wish to be feed on their demand. And a nice warm leg to sleep on.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 12 February 2003 01:02 (twenty-three years ago)

Cats want everything on-demand, and mine lets me know it by jumping on me and meowing loudly when she has deemed that I am not paying enough attention to her.

Jen (nstop), Wednesday, 12 February 2003 01:10 (twenty-three years ago)

We've been adopted by a cat named Treacle, who is an utter slag and moves from one to the other seeking attention. What relevance this bears I have no idea.

Matt (Matt), Wednesday, 12 February 2003 01:36 (twenty-three years ago)

I am seriously starting to believe it is to drive people mad. My cat has been acting seriously crazy as of late.

Nicole (Nicole), Wednesday, 12 February 2003 01:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Hats.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 12 February 2003 13:10 (twenty-three years ago)

In the morning, the first thing my bf usually does is open up the bedroom door so the kitties can come in to visit us. That usually happens around 6:30. But this morning, my kitty Pepper came to the door and started meowing rather loudly, over and over, deep meows... MEOW...MEOW...MEOW...(and so on)
So, he opened the door for her and she came running in and jumped up on the bed. The kitties had plenty of food and water. She just missed us I guess.
