i was just called a "blue meanie" by one of my co-workers yesterday (maybe because i was wearing a blue shirt?) anyway, this reminded me that the Blue Meanies (and the Yellow Submarine movie) are two of the few Beatle-oriented things that I unreservedly love.

That crossed my mind too, of course.

Blue Meanies =

A) one of my favorite things about Yellow Submarine (still on my all-time Best Movies To Watch While High list)

B) one of my favorite bands to see live...they're friggin KUH-RAY-ZEE!!!

I love calling people Blue Meanies. This drew puzzled looks from a FAP crowd.

"Do you ever get the mean reds?"
"What you mean like the blues?"
"Oh no, the blues are because it's been raining too long or maybe you're getting fat. You're just sad that's all. But the mean reds are terrible. You're afraid, but you don't know what you're afraid of. do you ever get that feeling?"
"Sometimes"

Yellow Submarine was my first contact with The Beatles and the first time I felt *anything* at all while listening to music (Disney soundtracks exempted, ooer.)

I use Blue Meanie as a screen name on a different forum. Those guys rule.

in new zealand (maybe elsewhere?) blue meanie is a slang term fer a type of magic mushroom.

The Blue Meanies were hook-nosed misers who were trying to take over the world. They looked alarmingly like the Jews portrayed in Nazi (and other) anti-Jewish propaganda.

I've got a hole in me pocket!

'Blue Meanie' is also (fairly uncommon) slang for Psilocybe cyanescens, a potent psychoactive mushroom found primarily in Northwestern USA.
