I once worked for Medecins Sans Frontières. Good luck with the gig!

Lara (Lara), Friday, 7 March 2003 15:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Tracer what time do you dj?

hstencil, Friday, 7 March 2003 15:43 (twenty-three years ago)

hstencil are you kidding??

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 7 March 2003 15:45 (twenty-three years ago)

well it sez midnight on the flyer, but you've got a band listed at midnight too (I'm assuming that they're not playing at 12 PM as listed?).

hstencil, Friday, 7 March 2003 15:49 (twenty-three years ago)

haha oh dear. well your confusion is an accurate snapshot of the reality of my timing -- midnightish, no sooner, maybe later. i think it will be worth it to get there earlier though, people keep telling me that Cordero is really good.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 7 March 2003 15:54 (twenty-three years ago)

Are they named after the baseball player? Didn't he beat his wife or something?

hstencil, Friday, 7 March 2003 15:54 (twenty-three years ago)

only one way to find out!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 7 March 2003 15:59 (twenty-three years ago)

Go beat his wife?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 7 March 2003 16:29 (twenty-three years ago)

Tracer H: congrats to you about your gig. I admire your publicity too. I trust it all goes as you hope.

Alas, I fear that I would hate the records you'll play.

the pinefox, Friday, 7 March 2003 16:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Well, then we uninvite you, pinefox.

Tracer I'm going to invite all the guys in my english class, ok?

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 7 March 2003 16:50 (twenty-three years ago)

Ally that sounds grate!

Pinefox if I were playing at 12 noon a la hstencil's observation I think you might like what I played! I am not, however, playing to a 12 noon kind of room. I'm grateful for your good wishes in any case!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 7 March 2003 17:35 (twenty-three years ago)

Cordero is pretty good, in a rustic Calexico adobe sort of way (at least, they were when I saw 'em back in the day) (& they're named after Ani Cordero, the lead singer / guitarist) (they have a website, for those of a curious nature - http://www.corderomusic.com ) (& Wilfredo was never actually convicted) (and, regardless, he sucked) (as if his suckage was a topic of great debate) (sorry to kill the fun w/ facts & parentheses) (but then the honorable Pinefox killed most of the fun for me).

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 7 March 2003 17:37 (twenty-three years ago)

It wouldn't be half as much fun around here without the - consistency? - of Pinefox's hatreds.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 7 March 2003 17:52 (twenty-three years ago)

Hahaha you should make up some Frenchblokey bootlegs of Belle & Sebastian songs and dedicate them to the Pinefox.

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 7 March 2003 17:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Tracer - It's about time someone on ILX realized that hating fun IS fun.

hstencil, Friday, 7 March 2003 17:59 (twenty-three years ago)

Cool Tracer!

Mary (Mary), Saturday, 8 March 2003 01:50 (twenty-three years ago)

I will try to make it.

I'd bet I'd like the songs you'll play, Tracer.

rosemary (rosemary), Saturday, 8 March 2003 04:20 (twenty-three years ago)

jess (dubplatestyle), Saturday, 8 March 2003 06:08 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm 85% sure I'll like Tracer's records--but only if you repeat what you did last night w/the Beach Boys' disco remake of "Here Comes the Night" ;-)

M Matos (M Matos), Saturday, 8 March 2003 07:02 (twenty-three years ago)

heh right into "Thee Light" by Aphrohead, glad you liked it Michelangelo. though it think it might have been a bit ruff on ol' Basil.

jess some dude was like "so how often do you play?" and i was like "oh five or six times a week........ in my bedroom!"

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Sunday, 9 March 2003 01:25 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm DJing right now in my house, muthafuckas.

Ally (mlescaut), Sunday, 9 March 2003 01:48 (twenty-three years ago)

"Puttin on the Ritz" into "My Console", do it Ally!!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Sunday, 9 March 2003 02:02 (twenty-three years ago)

folx there is a change of venue for tomorrow night! long story short, Northsix has been shut. the band "Leftover Crack" thought it would be funny to advertise on a flyer that they were going to have pyro at their show, as a joke. ha ha. well someone anonymously called the fire dept and despite Northsix's deepest protestations they could do nothing about the fact that their Certificate of Occupancy had long since expired.

so we're moving a few blocks away to Rock Star Bar, a bit cozier as real-estate brokers would put it, but still big enough to hold 250 or so. all the performers are still going on, so if you were planning on attending, stick with us, it's going to rock!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 20 March 2003 18:05 (twenty-three years ago)

phil-two (phil-two), Thursday, 20 March 2003 18:09 (twenty-three years ago)
