Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Saturday, 8 March 2003 23:54 (twenty-three years ago)

And your name is Mr. Noodles?! Just kidding, I'm a guy, too and kitties just bring out the daddy in me. Rrow? Yerow-wow? Ngnow? Blrllrlrlrlrlrpt! That cat language says to me, "Now? Now, now? Here I am, hello!'

Scaredy Cat, Sunday, 9 March 2003 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes and no. Most cats I've known have at least some independent, mature behavior patterns to get what they want. Also, cats are far less domesticated than dogs or livestock.

However, housecats in relation to their ancestors the bigger cats exhibit neoteny--their ancestors' juvenile characteristics last over a longer period of life. But then this is the same for humans, dogs, and probably other species.

j.lu (j.lu), Sunday, 9 March 2003 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

My cat is a widdle baby. Never bites, never scratches. Always wants to know what you're doing (but can never figure it out, thus an "eternal baby") and very, very sensitive. She's a scaredy cat! It's so cute when you're trying to do ANYTHING and she's always under foot saying, "Mrrow? Nyow? Brrreet-woot. Wurrow." I almost want to change her name to Underfoot, but it's not as cute as Toasty.

By comparison, the kitty in the office I work at is a traumatized freak. Doesn't like people at all.

Scaredy Cat, Sunday, 9 March 2003 00:06 (twenty-three years ago)

My cat just stays in the same room as me until he's cold, then jumps in my lap. I've sadly left him at my mothers where he has a bigger house and more places to place his fur.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Sunday, 9 March 2003 00:42 (twenty-three years ago)

I just got a laser pointer (for like $2) for the express purpose of entertaining my cat. It works wonders. Try it.

slutsky (slutsky), Sunday, 9 March 2003 01:38 (twenty-three years ago)

I believe that cats should be incinerated, for reasons of public health, safety, and general entertainment.

Squirrel_Police (Squirrel_Police), Sunday, 9 March 2003 02:52 (twenty-three years ago)

PS

Q: What has 2 legs and bleeds?

A: Half a cat.

Squirrel_Police (Squirrel_Police), Sunday, 9 March 2003 02:52 (twenty-three years ago)

hey, if you're going to tell a joke like that I think you need to post a picture that goes along with it.

A Nairn (moretap), Sunday, 9 March 2003 04:03 (twenty-three years ago)

I can't belive this thread is still picless. Sarah ?

Vic (Vic), Sunday, 9 March 2003 04:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Sunday, 9 March 2003 09:28 (twenty-three years ago)

...but I do lurve them so. I've got two of the little bastages myself. Both strays that adopted me. The youngest is an absolute terror. I can't tell you the amount of property damage that one little kitten can inflict.

But still, classic.

I could never understand the whole cats=feminine, dogs=masculine thing. I think cats are more masculine, personally. They're just smaller. Cue Robert de Niro rant in Meet the Parents!

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Sunday, 9 March 2003 09:32 (twenty-three years ago)

i wuv chaki

Vic, Sunday, 9 March 2003 09:52 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah, chaki is the man

And obviously cats = teenagers, dogs = children.Dogs are hyperactive freaks who want you to spend every living minute with them and shower them with love; cats are moody bastards who never do what they're told and mainly like to git you up for cat food (their equivalent of an allowance/the car.)

I prefer cats, of course.

Daniel_Rf (Daniel_Rf), Sunday, 9 March 2003 13:56 (twenty-three years ago)

Please can chaki turn all of ILE into a cartoon?

N. (nickdastoor), Sunday, 9 March 2003 14:01 (twenty-three years ago)

chaki should definitely turn either jay z vs nas, madonna vs janet, or the throwing things out of car windows threads into cartoons, but please not the xgau 700+ thread

Vic (Vic), Sunday, 9 March 2003 15:42 (twenty-three years ago)

Chaki, that was hilarious! Man, all you need to do is take random conversations from the net and you're set as a cartoonist. Seeing it in cartoon form made me crack up... The whole conversation seems much more idiotic when put into that context.

Thanks for cartooning me!

Scaredy Cat, Sunday, 9 March 2003 16:40 (twenty-three years ago)

fine work Chaki. But I am usually represtned by a picture of albino Don King

Mike Hanle y (mike), Sunday, 9 March 2003 18:39 (twenty-three years ago)

Wow, he captured my eyes perfectly after 15 cups of coffee.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Sunday, 9 March 2003 19:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh really, Noodles?
And how would you know how many cups of coffee he drank?

Squirrel_Police (Squirrel_Police), Sunday, 9 March 2003 22:06 (twenty-three years ago)

Great cartoon, chaki.

Ok, here I am. I don't normally post on the weekend. Now it's Monday and I'm at work. Blah, but at least there's ILX!

This spoilsport scientist thinks that pets and triangles aren't people :-(((

http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg19325935.700-people-see-pets-through-rosetinted-glasses.html

StanM, Friday, 9 March 2007 15:30 (nineteen years ago)

oooh that makes me mad. Pudding, Monster and Trouble are not like triangles! They are perfectly formed kitties aka poop with fur!
triangles don't eat crunchies!
Plus they are more football shaped (Pudding and Trouble) due to excessive crunching on crunchies. Monster is very furry but sleek - due to the fact that he KNOWS he is a small version of a panther. Spring is here - I anticipate many tiny birds to meet untimely deaths.
Triangles don't kill birds! I hate triangles!
Also, I hate that he kills birds, but it's not easy to stop it.
