yeah! Korin's going to be there! I'm going to wear high heeled shoes every day!

Hooray for Rainy and Korin!

(Email forthcoming, Rainy: should I assume from yours that you did not get the one I sent a little while ago? You've been switching addresses so I may have gotten a little lost.)

nabisco (nabisco), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 23:34 (twenty-three years ago)

No one else is showing love here, so I'll try and keep it up myself.

nabisco (nabisco), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 23:45 (twenty-three years ago)

rainy, it's sunny here in wellington. make sure you have coffee at fidels and alcohol at chow/good luck/the new matterhorn/bodega. (in that order).

you can't beat thai food from anise - try 'son-in-laws eggs' - the cheapest thing on the menu at $15 for four of the beauties.

there are usually goodish gigs at the bar in front of the southern cross on abel tasman street. behave yourself, however, or they'll kick you out.

beware the blanket man in cuba mall.

this is wellington new zealand you're going to?

Clare (not entirely unhappy), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 23:58 (twenty-three years ago)

blanket man's OK - he always gives me a smile, tho maybe he knows too much!

Oh & Lie-Low is quite kool - it's where the old bodega used to be Bar open Thurs - Sat nites only

Bill E (bill_e), Wednesday, 12 March 2003 00:10 (twenty-three years ago)

Yay! You should come and visit Elizabeth and Hamish. Of course you're welcome to stay (or are you staying at Korin's?)

hamish (hamish), Wednesday, 12 March 2003 00:16 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah he's ok but not when you're donwind of him - i'm right behind his cause, so to speak. lie-low is great, that's trye.

Clare (not entirely unhappy), Wednesday, 12 March 2003 00:30 (twenty-three years ago)

Did you see the article in the paper about him? It made no sense at all and said his new blanket loooked too nice for him so it was probably stolen. ???

What exactly is his cause?

hamish (hamish), Wednesday, 12 March 2003 00:46 (twenty-three years ago)

poverty in nz. did you see that article late last year in which winston peters got annoyed that they were living near that monument at the gates of parliament? he said it was a disgrace. didn't the cuba street shop owners buy him that new one - rather like the one they found one of olivia hope's hairs on. the crucial hair. the damning hair. the possibly-planted hair.

Clare (not entirely unhappy), Wednesday, 12 March 2003 00:54 (twenty-three years ago)

sorry - shouldn't end sentences w/ prepositions.

Clare (not entirely unhappy), Wednesday, 12 March 2003 00:54 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah i did read that actually but i didn't make the connection.

hamish (hamish), Wednesday, 12 March 2003 01:03 (twenty-three years ago)

When are you getting here Rainy?

hamish (hamish), Wednesday, 12 March 2003 01:19 (twenty-three years ago)

hey, good luck for yr drift north, haha - i'm meant to be visiting BUT I'm skint AND after a, uh, heartfelt quasi-reunion phonecall with M., I'm finding it increasingly difficult to avoid impulses to book the next flite to Dunedin. Sigh.

EssKay, Wednesday, 12 March 2003 01:24 (twenty-three years ago)

er, hey, hamish/spectra - have you seen Ma*ve M*rama L*nie around Wgtn? any contact?

EssKay, Wednesday, 12 March 2003 01:26 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes and yes.

hamish (hamish), Wednesday, 12 March 2003 01:28 (twenty-three years ago)

what about the brother, do you ever see that guy?

duane, Wednesday, 12 March 2003 01:37 (twenty-three years ago)

hey have a good time in w-town btw rainy

duane, Wednesday, 12 March 2003 01:38 (twenty-three years ago)

i sort of hate the place but actually i usually have a good time there

duane, Wednesday, 12 March 2003 01:39 (twenty-three years ago)

!!!
hey, um, next time you see her or something, could you grab her email/phone no.? trying to reestablish contact (i've got her angela carter, she's got my h.p. lovecraft haha) but i'm not sure if she's using her eudora account anymore.

EssKay, Wednesday, 12 March 2003 01:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Dwayne: i know the Brother's flatmate but i don't think i've ever seen him. We don't go to the same places and i keep forgetting what people look like (does he still look like a hippy with dreads?)

Esskay: Yup i'll do that.

hamish (hamish), Wednesday, 12 March 2003 02:00 (twenty-three years ago)

he had short hair last time i saw him, i dunno tho

duane, Wednesday, 12 March 2003 02:03 (twenty-three years ago)

oh i probably wouldn't recognise him then. Yeah i've probably seen him; i went to one of his gigs but i left before he started.

hamish (hamish), Wednesday, 12 March 2003 02:05 (twenty-three years ago)

Yay for Rainy and Korin and travel fun! :-) It will be all windy.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 12 March 2003 02:33 (twenty-three years ago)

wow wow wow Please come do stuff w/ us Rainy! I have a really nice new place. We could arrange something fancy/special. Wow so this is *the* Korin? great! is she the one w/ the knife in the pic you posted recently. That was one of my alltime favourite things I've evr seen posted on ILX.

elizabeth anne marjorie, Wednesday, 12 March 2003 05:57 (twenty-three years ago)

rainy, thats so great!

di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 12 March 2003 21:26 (twenty-three years ago)

Wellington in NZ is the best Wellington! Spectra and Hamish I would really love to catch up with you, maybe we could do an ILX Wellington Division FAP? Clare do you want to? And you too, Bill E?

Dunedin ppl, I am leaving on the 21st of this month and coming back a couple of weeks after that, let's do something before I go!

(I don't know who that girl with the knife is, it was a random google thing.)

rainy (rainy), Thursday, 13 March 2003 07:44 (twenty-three years ago)

fifteen years pass...

Hey you guys, I am in Wellington for work.

Is anyone still here?

I have a couple of colleagues in tow this time (although we'll probably do our own things at weekends) but when I come back next month I have a couple of weeks alone.

Things to do, beer recs, fappage etc.

Bimlo Horsewagon became Wheelbarrow Horseflesh (aldo), Monday, 14 May 2018 01:25 (eight years ago)

Ayo. Lots of craft beer (I live v.close to Garage Project so haven't really explored much further -.Hashigo Zake's p.dece & some friends swear by LBQ). Lots of outdoors-y stuff fairly central (south coast beaches & snorkel trail; bird sanctuary Zealandia etc); usually a mess of gigs ... could probably point you towards local indie comics, can't quite recall yr non reading-stuff-so-we-don't-have-to tastes, aldo!

etc, Monday, 14 May 2018 04:22 (eight years ago)

(on my phone & deadline, give me a few days for sensible answers)

etc, Monday, 14 May 2018 04:23 (eight years ago)

Excellent news. Staying up that way myself at that end of The Terrace so convenient for lots of places.

Bimlo Horsewagon became Wheelbarrow Horseflesh (aldo), Tuesday, 15 May 2018 05:15 (eight years ago)

Oh, I'm within spitting distance (& used to live on the Terrace, to boot). Flicking an email to the one listed on yr profile.
