Well? I'm getting worried...

Richard Willmsen (rwillmsen), Friday, 14 March 2003 23:23 (twenty-three years ago)

Why do you care whether you're a moron or not?

Eyeball Kicks (Eyeball Kicks), Friday, 14 March 2003 23:30 (twenty-three years ago)

Does worrying about being a moron make me a moron?!?

Richard Willmsen (rwillmsen), Friday, 14 March 2003 23:35 (twenty-three years ago)

What's moronic about it? I haven't listened since Danny Baker left 606.

I dunno! I'm a moron!

Eyeball Kicks (Eyeball Kicks), Friday, 14 March 2003 23:38 (twenty-three years ago)

Well , they talk about football all the time, never play any music and I don't mind. However, Radio 1FM is just puerile crap which seems to be aimed at toddlers.

You are crazy. I'll tell you one thing: if you like football you're not a moron. If you don't, you are.

I feel like a teenage girl in reverse.

No joke, I really do.

Eyeball Kicks (Eyeball Kicks), Friday, 14 March 2003 23:45 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm all in favour of football and pop music.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Friday, 14 March 2003 23:48 (twenty-three years ago)

I really don't like either basketball or jazz.

Gatinha (rwillmsen), Friday, 14 March 2003 23:56 (twenty-three years ago)

Go Gatinha! Nor do I!

Eyeball Kicks (Eyeball Kicks), Friday, 14 March 2003 23:59 (twenty-three years ago)

As for fucking cricket don't get me started! The Conservative Party at play. A teenage girl in reverse, how?

Gatinha (rwillmsen), Saturday, 15 March 2003 00:01 (twenty-three years ago)

How? I don't mind, really.

Eyeball Kicks (Eyeball Kicks), Saturday, 15 March 2003 00:02 (twenty-three years ago)

I rarely listen to anything else (well, R4 if R5 is getting too moronic)

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 22 March 2003 13:12 (twenty-three years ago)

If you want the football news on Saturday afternoon, for some 'copyright'(?) reasons Five Live goes offline so I have to listen to Talksport, which really is tabloid radio.

five years pass...

Just flipped it on now and this guy called Nick Wallace was standing in for the regular.

He's just about the worst presenter I've ever heard, and I'm including student radio in this. All he has in his favour is that he has a clear voice and he knows the schedule. Actually, he knows the schedule so well he has to repeat it every fucking half-minute. I think the reference to "Christian Ronaldo" was the moment I lost all faith in Radio 5.

Just got offed, Friday, 25 July 2008 22:20 (seventeen years ago)

He's no Nicky Campbell, that's for sure.

Neil S, Friday, 25 July 2008 22:26 (seventeen years ago)

And any reference to Ronaldo is dispiriting in its own right, I think.

Neil S, Friday, 25 July 2008 22:28 (seventeen years ago)

I stopped listening shortly after he spoke in excited-gosh tones of Barack Obama's name. "What an amazing name! Barack Obama! And he's got Hussein as a middle name too! A bit of everything in there. (female Obama aide), what's in a name?"

Just got offed, Friday, 25 July 2008 22:30 (seventeen years ago)

Wow he has a non Anglo-Saxon name omg!

Neil S, Friday, 25 July 2008 22:31 (seventeen years ago)

"Radio 5" we hardly knew ye

Tracer Hand, Friday, 25 July 2008 22:31 (seventeen years ago)

To be fair, he's doing a Great Real Names-style "gosh exciting" running text-in thing (which is a pretty lame text-in theme tbh), but tying that in with Obama is just craven presenting.

Just got offed, Friday, 25 July 2008 22:33 (seventeen years ago)

"Barack Hussein Obama?!!?! Crazy name, crazy guy??!?!"

Tracer Hand, Friday, 25 July 2008 22:50 (seventeen years ago)
