(It's not just your 3 favorite albums because they have to be ones you wouldn't actually mind listening to over and over)

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 17 March 2003 14:34 (twenty-three years ago)

If I put all my mp3's into 3 folders can I keep them all?

Lynskey (Lynskey), Monday, 17 March 2003 14:40 (twenty-three years ago)

If'n I only had 3 albums to listen to over-and-over, they'd prob'ly be:

Mr. Bungle's California
Peter Gabriel's Passion
The Roots' Phrenology

At least, that's how I feel at this moment. I'll prob'ly change my mind very very soon though.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 17 March 2003 14:43 (twenty-three years ago)

Maybe:

Alexander "Skip" Spence, Oar
Albert Ayler Trio, Spiritual Unity
Aphex Twin, I Care Because You Do

something like that?

hstencil, Monday, 17 March 2003 14:44 (twenty-three years ago)

I think it would be:

Bonjour La France vol2
Bowie - Outside
Flaming Lips - Zaireka

A Nairn (moretap), Monday, 17 March 2003 14:53 (twenty-three years ago)

I think Aphex Twin: SAWII and Main: Hz can stand a million repeated listenings. And Roxy Music: Avalon already has. So there.

Christopher Cross - "Christopher Cross", it doesn't get any better than "Minstrel Gigolo" or "Sailing" well maybe "Ride Like The Wind".

Gino Vanelli - "Brother To Brother", this is the shit right here. "Appaloosa" and "I Just Wanna Stop".

Seals and Crofts - "Summer Breeze", the title says it all...pure sex.

Chris V. (Chris V), Monday, 17 March 2003 16:15 (twenty-three years ago)

I like the Isley Bros' version of "Summer Breeze," actually.

hstencil, Monday, 17 March 2003 16:16 (twenty-three years ago)

erik, Monday, 17 March 2003 19:05 (twenty-three years ago)

This is upsetting me, just to think of it.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 17 March 2003 19:08 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm sorry, Martin, but WHAT IF????! You need to be ready with your answers when the time comes. Better safe than sorry, right?

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 17 March 2003 19:10 (twenty-three years ago)

brad pitt in fight club to thread

jess (dubplatestyle), Monday, 17 March 2003 19:10 (twenty-three years ago)

I heart Erik.

Somehow, for me, choosing three albums is 1000x easier than contemplating 100 albums (i.e. not necessarily impossible).

Amateurist (amateurist), Monday, 17 March 2003 19:22 (twenty-three years ago)

I was thinking about this today because there was a fire in the flat below and I had to rush into the street with nothing. So I wiondered what I'd save if it was serious fire. so my three albums is

Scott Walker CDR of his best songs
Felt Absolute Classic Masterpieces
David Sylvian SEcrets of the Beehive
oh can I have a photograph album too?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Tuesday, 18 March 2003 02:46 (twenty-three years ago)

Maria (Maria), Tuesday, 18 March 2003 02:48 (twenty-three years ago)

t rex greatest hits
gillian welch - time (the revelator)
johnny cash - superbilly.

di smith (lucylurex), Tuesday, 18 March 2003 02:50 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm going to eliminate greatest hits collections, compilations, and CDs I burned from mp3 as ineligible. I don't know if that makes it harder or easier.

But right now today, if I had to pick:

David Bowie, Outside.
The Pixies, Trompe Le Monde, which I think is pretty consistently the album I listen to most often.
And hell, yeah, I'll put Peter Gabriel's Passion in there, too, cause it'd be a good antidote to being sick of the other two.

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 18 March 2003 02:54 (twenty-three years ago)

I listen to Static Age all day at work. It used to alarm this crazy girl I worked with, I mean who the hell gets alarmed by that anymore?

Quite honestly, if I could only listen to ONE SONG ever again it'd be Attitude.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 18 March 2003 02:57 (twenty-three years ago)

If I had to listen to one song and one song only for the rest of my life, it'd be "It's a Small World After All," because if I'm going nuts I'm damn sure taking alla y'all with me.

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 18 March 2003 02:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Mississippi John Hurt - Avalon Blues
Johnny Dyani Quartet - Song for Biko
Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti

Those are not necessarily my three favorite records.

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Tuesday, 18 March 2003 03:10 (twenty-three years ago)

Bob Dylan's Desire, Richard Clapton's Greatest Hits, and Diva by Annie Lennox.

If motivated the same way as Tep I'd throw in Heart's All I Wanna Do (is make love to you) as well. Or I'd send it across to Pakistan to help those CIA guys interrogate the Al Qaida bloke they caught.

Karen, Wednesday, 19 March 2003 03:05 (twenty-three years ago)

Gorecki's third
yeah, Doolittle, I guess
AND AN ALBUM OF TANGO MUSIC AS I WILL NEED TO DANCE WITH LADIES IN ENTERTAINING FROCKS

Matt (Matt), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 03:10 (twenty-three years ago)

If I had to listen to one song and one song only for the rest of my life....

Sort've a ridiculous concept, but were it the case.....

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 03:53 (twenty-three years ago)

The Beatles, Rubber Soul (could be a diff. Beatles tomorrow)
Neil Young, Rust Never Sleeps
Jay-Z, Vol. III - Life and Times of S. Carter

gabbneb (gabbneb), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 04:17 (twenty-three years ago)

Shinkansen (Various) - Lights on a Darkening Shore
Nick Drake - Bryter Layter

SittingPretty (sittingpretty), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 10:39 (twenty-three years ago)

In reality it would probably three mix-tapes/cds, but that seems a bit of a cheat. So here they are:

Echo & the Bunnymen - Ocean Rain
Dusty Springfield - Dusty in Memphis
Abba - Abba Gold
