I felt it, Mike across the way felt it, no-one else mentioned it, how strange. Or was it just war-paranoia?

chris (chris), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 12:08 (twenty-three years ago)

location?

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 12:09 (twenty-three years ago)

Were both Mike and you engaged in an amorous clinch at the time?

Lara (Lara), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 12:10 (twenty-three years ago)

Nothing's moving in Dublin AS PER BLOODY USUAL, btw.

Lara (Lara), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 12:10 (twenty-three years ago)

Yorkshire appears to be stable.

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 12:12 (twenty-three years ago)

This was Uxbridge, and no Lara, I am only clinching forecast reports at the moment. No one else in the office felt it either, which is a little odd.

chris (chris), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 12:15 (twenty-three years ago)

Have you seen Tremors?

phil-two (phil-two), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 12:16 (twenty-three years ago)

it was the coffee machine maybe?

pete b. (pete b.), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 12:17 (twenty-three years ago)

You can always look here: www.earthquakes.bgs.ac.uk in a day or so and see if you were the epicenter of a small quake!

marianna, Wednesday, 19 March 2003 12:17 (twenty-three years ago)

Maybe you had a Vindaloo last night?

Lara (Lara), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 12:20 (twenty-three years ago)

hey chris i am just a couple of miles from you in Ruislip but i felt nothing...i worry about living so close to the Air Force Base though

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 12:22 (twenty-three years ago)

Lara you are very very cheeky.

oh crap, I forgot about the base. (bases if you include Northolt)

chris (chris), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 12:23 (twenty-three years ago)

Right now I'm hearing choppers whirring overhead.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 12:24 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah, it was probably just a stealth bomber coming in to land.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 12:24 (twenty-three years ago)

we hear and kind of feel Concorde quite clearly, every morning at five to eleven, but this felt quite different.

chris (chris), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 12:26 (twenty-three years ago)

I here helicopters all the time, and if I look west on a clear day at sunset, I can see loads of vapour trails from jet planes, it's quite pretty.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 12:26 (twenty-three years ago)

I can hear a pneumatic drill right now as it gnashes its way through concrete.

Lara (Lara), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 12:27 (twenty-three years ago)

I can see the endo fthe runway at Heathrow over my left shoulder. The first time I saw a plane coming into land I didn't realiose it was over there and thought I had witnessed a plane crash. Just as well I didn't shout about it to therest of the office.

I love working on the seventh floor.

chris (chris), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 12:30 (twenty-three years ago)

working in Ealing is also 'classic' for catching the roar of the Concorde - but they seem to be rotating the flight path a bit more so it was very inconsistent

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 12:50 (twenty-three years ago)

I was at Bedfont FC last night and their pitch is right at the bottom of one of the Heathrow runways - having a 747 soar over your head every 60 seconds at 100ft is scary. A bit on the loud side an' all - I kept feeling myself ducking.

Where I live is underneath Concorde's inbound flight path. In the summer I like to sit in the garden and watch it go overhead.

j0e (j0e), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 12:51 (twenty-three years ago)

possibly also classic for catching bits of it as they fall off.

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 12:51 (twenty-three years ago)

*glares at Ed over nose cone*

Erm... isn't this ever so slightly distracting for the players? Not to mention windy...

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 14:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Wasn't windy at all actually. I suppose the home players are used to it - and anyway we still managed to beat them 2-1.

j0e (j0e), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 14:15 (twenty-three years ago)

Up on 27th floor of a high rise on the south bank and felt nothing. Although whilst i was eating lunch by the river four ambulances shot along the Strand followed by a police boat on the river itself.

Anna (Anna), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 16:09 (twenty-three years ago)

ten years pass...

Someone's using a big JCB attached pneumatic drill in the street outside. I think they'll be hear all weekend.

Will you see a political publicity stunt? (snoball), Saturday, 13 April 2013 12:30 (thirteen years ago)
