Terry looked in the mirror again and scowled. He traced a finger over the blind pimple on his neck. It looked red and swollen. There was no way he could hide it, tonight of all nights, so the question seemed to be "to squeeze or not to squeeze?" Either way Jen was unlikely to find it attractive.
He turned away, leaving it for now, and contemplated the paisley shirt laying rumpled on the bed. "To iron or not to iron?" he wondered.

gaz (gaz), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 22:42 (twenty-three years ago)

how long do you think the pimple will stay blind? squeezing is a bad option; will only infame more; this breed of zit needs to be allowed to gently grow its head. anyone wearing a paisley shirt deserves a three week no-head blind pimple. but what's gonna happen next?

Clare (not entirely unhappy), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 23:25 (twenty-three years ago)

Terry had allowed 'the voices' to cloud his judgement before - but not tonight! 'The shirt will be ironed' he decided. 'The pimple will be

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 23:34 (twenty-three years ago)

laid under with blemish-disguising make-up' he ruled. For tonight was going to be the night. Tonight HAD to be the night.

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 23:36 (twenty-three years ago)

"Not so fast!" shouted the pimple. "I demand sexual gratification!"

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 23:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Terry knew ignoring the pimple's demands would be a mistake. It would sit throbbing on his neck all night. Damn those voices!
He turned his thoughts to Jen. He had never dreamed she'd say "yes".

gaz (gaz), Wednesday, 19 March 2003 23:47 (twenty-three years ago)

Nervously, Terry glanced at his watch. It was a quarter to eight. Terry wondered if he'd have time to work out how he could sexually gratify a pimple AND still get to the restaurant in time for Jen...gorgeous, gushing Jen...soft swan-like neck, so pure...NNGH...

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 20 March 2003 00:03 (twenty-three years ago)

Jen sat up quickly. It was if a bolt of rogue electricity had whipped itself up her spine. She looked around, dazed. Had she been asleep? Why was her hair such a mess? What had happened?
Her eyes focused on the kitchen clock...7.45!

gaz (gaz), Thursday, 20 March 2003 00:08 (twenty-three years ago)

Panicked, she ran into the bathroom and began to frantically ready herself. "Fifteen minutes... okay, you can do this... calm and step-by-step," she thought as she simultaniously brushed her teeth and combed her hair. "Just have to be ready enough when he gets here. Oh why did I say yes in the first place? He's nice enough, but...."

Aaron W (Aaron W), Thursday, 20 March 2003 00:45 (twenty-three years ago)

"I've got a huge zit on my forehead. Wheres my concealer..."

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 20 March 2003 00:48 (twenty-three years ago)

She'd seen his, admittedly rather shabby, photo posted on a thread on her favourite message board and been intrigued. His posts had made her laugh. And, well...she applied a smidgen of concealer. From the photos she knew the guy himself had perfect skin.

gaz (gaz), Thursday, 20 March 2003 01:57 (twenty-three years ago)

She perused her face and outfit, a bit disappointed that she hadn't had enough time to fuss more over her appearance. The concealer had worked well, however. Even in a rush, she could look good. Tonight was going to be interesting. Grinning with nervous apprehension, she grabbed her purse and left the apartment. But wait...how could she have forgotten...

JuliaA (j_bdules), Thursday, 20 March 2003 02:33 (twenty-three years ago)

her book of secret passwords. She had actually planned to meet Terry at a certain restaurant, but that was not where she wanted to go. There was another place she had heard about from her hip friends, but to get in there was a password that had to be spoken into a slot on the door. She had a book full of places like this with the addresses on the left side and any special notes on the right, such as passwords. She goes to meet Terry.

A Nairn (moretap), Thursday, 20 March 2003 02:41 (twenty-three years ago)

Through the passageway behind the bookcase. Brushing aside cobwebs she descends the stairs to the walkway under the sewer. The stench is outrageous. She can feel the pimple swelling in dank response to the fetid air.

gaz (gaz), Thursday, 20 March 2003 02:44 (twenty-three years ago)

When she gets to the secret door she decides to bluff her way in. So takes a moment to ask herself, "What would Ronan say?"

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 20 March 2003 02:52 (twenty-three years ago)

Jen reached the door, remembering this was all taking place in the past. She took a deep breath and rapped briskly on the solid oak face. Moments of doubt phased into what seemed like hours...suddenly a muffled voice was heard on the other side of the door.

"Password!" the gruff pinefox-esque voice mumbled.

Jen inhaled once again and seized her chance.

"FEEL. THE. VOIB"

Again, silence, again, aching moments stretched and arched into a false infinity...Jen had realised it was 8pm exactly - she had made it, right time, but was this the right place?

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 20 March 2003 03:06 (twenty-three years ago)

Just at that moment Terry comes charging over, like an overgrown kid barely containing his excitement.
"Terr..." Jen begins.
"Its started!" he yells. "Some fool on the board just posted the news".

gaz (gaz), Thursday, 20 March 2003 03:08 (twenty-three years ago)

"So lets get busy, it could be our last night on Earth he begged!"

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 20 March 2003 03:20 (twenty-three years ago)

Too late! The huge oak door swung inwards and the couple stumbled into...

gaz (gaz), Thursday, 20 March 2003 03:24 (twenty-three years ago)

Owlman's lair!

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 20 March 2003 03:32 (twenty-three years ago)

they looked around awestruck and took a few tentative steps into the lair. Terry started to giggle, he couldn't help it. That first hiccup of a giggle bounced nervously around the walls and echoed back. Soon other giggles joined it.
Terry bent over, holding his stomach and stuffing a fist in his mouth. Jen was just about to laugh too when...

gaz (gaz), Thursday, 20 March 2003 04:41 (twenty-three years ago)

Owlman jumped out and pulled out a HWG (Hooting-Wave-Gun) in his left hand, and in his right hand was...

A Nairn (moretap), Thursday, 20 March 2003 05:18 (twenty-three years ago)

A six-pack of Snow Goose. "Hey bud...wanna party?" he queried in a voice suggesting that he hadn't waited for Terry and Jen to begin his night out.

Terry and Jen each accepted a beer. The two wandered into the main room, where they saw...

j.lu (j.lu), Thursday, 20 March 2003 05:49 (twenty-three years ago)

the main owl room, littered with feathers and filled with people who had beaks and swivelling heads.
terry's pimple wondered where its beer was. terry crossly told it to shut up but regretted this as soon as he felt a hard insistent throb start up. how to appease this pimple?

minna (minna), Thursday, 20 March 2003 05:59 (twenty-three years ago)

also he couldn't let jen see him talking into his collar again, it would ruin his chances with her. plus he wanted to have a look around at the owl room which after all was kind of freaky

minna (minna), Thursday, 20 March 2003 07:36 (twenty-three years ago)

"Damn the voices! Damn the voices! D-A-M-N the voices!!!!" yelled Terry.
Jen looked at him once, twice, THREE times. She said "Terry, you hear the voices too?"
Terry started to convulse and OWLMAn was there, holding him, whispering...

gaz (gaz), Thursday, 20 March 2003 08:58 (twenty-three years ago)

And then the voices suddenly magnified by a thousandfold as the dreaded Canibles rushed into the lair, led by the traitorous swimming rat.

"A-ha!" quipped the latter, snarling through his newly refurbished teeth. "I have been chewed up thus many times and now have been spat out a new and different rodent! For too long have I had to endure being fed to whatever large beast happened to be at hand for the sake of a facile plot escape hatch. Well NO MORE!! Now ye shalt constitute my banquet. Avast, crass varlets, I'll knock ye down!"

Sighed OWLMAn wearily, "Why do I even bother?"

Tony Seed, Thursday, 20 March 2003 09:08 (twenty-three years ago)

Meanwhile Maddog, Ali, Groper, AlxfrmNY, Jesus, Skidwell, Jo-Jo, and TOM sat waiting for Ragged Gnad to arrive. There were lights in the sky, bombs going off and destroying neighborhoods, screams. But a party isn't a party til the long hair does karaoke.

gaz (gaz), Thursday, 20 March 2003 09:18 (twenty-three years ago)

so they got out the camera, and...

gaz (gaz), Thursday, 20 March 2003 10:21 (twenty-three years ago)

THEY ALL LEZZED UP.

(sorry)

Andrew (enneff), Thursday, 20 March 2003 10:24 (twenty-three years ago)

However Ragged Gnad wasn't happy. Not at all. I mean, he wanted in, but he had FAR TOO MANY NICE TRAITS to get with it. So he wandered outside. To look at the stars. To look at the explosions.

Gazing at the wonder of the universe he heard a screaming noise coming from where, as one of the Enlightend Ones, he knew the Owlman's lair was...

gaz (gaz), Thursday, 20 March 2003 10:50 (twenty-three years ago)

o sorry. can we switch back to the terry/jen scene.

gaz (gaz), Thursday, 20 March 2003 11:05 (twenty-three years ago)

directly beneth the room where this motley crew is waiting. If only he could find a way inside to help Owlman and the gang fight off the canibles and rat.

A Nairn (moretap), Thursday, 20 March 2003 14:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Across town, Jennifer was having a problem.

"MATTY!" she yelled. "Can you pass me a new roll of toilet paper?"

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 20 March 2003 16:06 (twenty-three years ago)

(Skidwell! Is this some blend of me and Felicity? There's an appealing thought!)

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 20 March 2003 21:31 (twenty-three years ago)

yes martin.
"What for?" replied Matty, trying to extricate himself from...

life isn't a liver story

calstars, Thursday, 16 October 2014 00:54 (eleven years ago)

Aimless, Thursday, 16 October 2014 00:57 (eleven years ago)

seven years pass...

(A lot of people talk about the current state in Denmark). It is too dangerous to buy any fire here! The problem now is that our politicians are just talking like I always say they should but we haven't seen this from them. And if you know anyone who owns a (insert any variable), please tell us your story and let's be able get out there with!"
"What will I need? Nothing much at all," says one woman as she leaves her home on Kørebyudar Street across town and heads up for sea after having checked into an Airbnb accommodation. "I won $500 last month by using it."
Another young man puts his foot down firmly when asked whether he needs help paying rent: 'Oh #$%^&^%...” He takes off running; quickly turning around onto Buelleshavn – where another person has already put himself under house arrest waiting desperately for someone to come pick him up…This isn´t what most would consider fair treatment so how could anybody face such hardship?" (probably)
“On my first night back again was not nice", complains Sårens Jonsson before taking control of yet another conversation or two: “the [Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt] thinks Europe belongs only specifically among countries which have managed their borders well".
In short words Thorning-Schmidt rejects Iceland` s sovereignty claims claiming EU members don’ts see Greenland as part thereof. Of course European powers must grant asylum status to Icelandic citizens seeking political change through civil rights abuses, mass unemployment and plant murder...But does everyone read these reports?! What matters even more than legality though?”
