wouldn't you agree?

I like tha ambiguity of the headline; you clould make up some fantastic stories with it.

"Today the US identified a lack of warm snugglies in Israel and pledged to send them billions of kittens to cheer them up."

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 20 March 2003 16:33 (twenty-three years ago)

WTF is up with that picture? The most blatant "Sex sells even if it's completely irrelevant to the story" picture ever.

Nick A. (Nick A.), Thursday, 20 March 2003 16:34 (twenty-three years ago)

Hey, GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK ARIEL SHARON!!!

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 20 March 2003 16:35 (twenty-three years ago)

Condi Rice, P.R. genius.

hstencil, Thursday, 20 March 2003 16:36 (twenty-three years ago)

So Israel is financially fuX0red because of vast amounts of money spent occupying a hostile territory. Glad the US doesn't have that problem.

fletrejet, Thursday, 20 March 2003 16:39 (twenty-three years ago)

Now is the time for those "10 Billion Americans did not vote in 2000. Wonder why the President doesn't care about you?" bumper stickers.

donut bitch (donut), Thursday, 20 March 2003 16:40 (twenty-three years ago)

haha, maybe that should "million"...

donut bitch (donut), Thursday, 20 March 2003 16:40 (twenty-three years ago)

I was gonna say!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 20 March 2003 16:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Don't blame me - I voted for Gore.

hstencil, Thursday, 20 March 2003 16:44 (twenty-three years ago)

From Reuters (re; Iraq setting fire to "three or four oil wells")...

Rumsfeld, who said the U.S. military was trying to get more information on this, appealed to Iraqis not to burn the riches of their country. "It is a crime for that regime to be destroying the riches of the Iraqi people."

Is it not a crime for us to destroy their houses?

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Thursday, 20 March 2003 16:45 (twenty-three years ago)

And now Powell is saying, "Iraqi troops, please don't fight." What type of war is this anyway? Reminds me of the great bit on MST3K where Mike ended up giving completely contradictory statements to space children in an attempt at child care...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 20 March 2003 16:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Powell to Iraq: "Say 'I like to suck big dicks'... SAY IT!"

donut bitch (donut), Thursday, 20 March 2003 16:54 (twenty-three years ago)

let's pave America's national parks so that we can drive our SUVs all across them. Is the Bush administration at war with the American people too? Can we put them on trial now?

Houses are not destroyed. They are only redistributed as raw materials and leaving valuable real estate open for shrewd developers.

Powelll is worried about Belgium finding ways to prosecute U.S. officials for war crimes if they show up for NATO meetings.

badger, Thursday, 20 March 2003 17:09 (twenty-three years ago)

I love the fact that this loan is coming out of the US's "war budget".

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Thursday, 20 March 2003 17:10 (twenty-three years ago)

Listen, Bush has been saying that for like a week now. "Iraqi troops, just join our side. Don't bother fighting. What does it gain you?" I think there was an Onion article that said like the exact same thing a week earlier, "Bush declares Iraq a threat cos they have the nerve to fight back", something on that line. It's funny if you think about it.

Haha, I now have this image in my mind of Powell writing on a big board "I M SOFA KING WEE TOD IT" and telling the Iraqis to say it outloud. Powell: "How many people you think are dead in that cemetary over there?" Random Iraqi Soldier: "I don't know, mabe 50,000?" Powell: "THEY'RE ALL DEAD! HAHAHAHA! YOU FELL FOR IT!"

Ally (mlescaut), Thursday, 20 March 2003 17:11 (twenty-three years ago)

Powell: If an Iraqi fighter plane crashed on the border of Iraq and Kuwait, where would they bury the survivors?

Iraqi: What are you talking about? Do we even have fighter planes any more?

Powell: Doesn't matter. We'd kill the survivors anyhow.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Thursday, 20 March 2003 17:32 (twenty-three years ago)

don't blame me - i voted for nader in a state that gore won.

j fail (cenotaph), Thursday, 20 March 2003 17:44 (twenty-three years ago)

don't blame me - i voted my conscience instead of being bullied into thinking of voting as some activity in which voting one's conscience is somehow unethical.

J0hn Darn1elle (J0hn Darn1elle), Thursday, 20 March 2003 18:30 (twenty-three years ago)

don't blame me, i'm not hstencil.

rosemary (rosemary), Thursday, 20 March 2003 19:06 (twenty-three years ago)

John, voting for Gore was voting for conscience. Jeez.

hstencil, Thursday, 20 March 2003 19:08 (twenty-three years ago)

John, voting for Gore was voting for my conscience. Jeez.

hstencil, Thursday, 20 March 2003 19:08 (twenty-three years ago)

what?
or other john?

i would have probably voted for nader had i lived in florida. al gore lost that election. well, that and the illegal disenfranchisment of thousands of black voters.

j fail (cenotaph), Thursday, 20 March 2003 19:12 (twenty-three years ago)

(Pay no attention to that pro-Israel lobby.)

Rockist Scientist, Thursday, 20 March 2003 19:13 (twenty-three years ago)

That was for D49n!3113, not you.

hstencil, Thursday, 20 March 2003 19:13 (twenty-three years ago)

Today our "patriotic leaders" who "support the troops" also passed a budget which CUTS more than $1billion in programs that aid veterans this year alone, and will cut out as much as $15billion in veteran's-aid programs over the next 10 years...on the same day that they pledge $10billion in aid (note: OUR US tax dollars) to Israel. And I think to myself, what a wonderful world.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 20 March 2003 19:16 (twenty-three years ago)

nickalicious, can you give me a site where I can document this--I can't find anything looking through Google's news portal. (Do you know of a good site for updates on U.S. legislation?)

Rockist Scientist, Friday, 21 March 2003 01:06 (twenty-three years ago)

DEAN 2004 MOTHERFUCKERS

Millar (Millar), Friday, 21 March 2003 01:25 (twenty-three years ago)

i don't think that would make a very effective bumper sticker.

Dave M. (rotten03), Friday, 21 March 2003 01:36 (twenty-three years ago)

I'd buy it

Millar (Millar), Friday, 21 March 2003 01:39 (twenty-three years ago)

Rock Scientist: Here is your cite for cutting veterens benefits:

http://www.vaiw.org/vet/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=59&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0

When, you think about it, the cost of supporting veterans after the war is a huge cost that should be factored in when budgeting a war.

fletrejet, Friday, 21 March 2003 18:33 (twenty-three years ago)

Quite right. Any evisceration of the VA and related budgets is simply contemptible. I regularly donate to a local American Legion post that helps and comforts veterans -- to me this isn't merely a kindness but a duty.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 21 March 2003 18:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos.
