Where can I get my Freedom Poodle de-nutted for free in Los Angeles?

ten months pass...
FOR FREE?!?!?!?!?! ARE YOU IN YOUR FUCKING DREAMS?!?!?
My cat's getting that surgery tomorrow, for several thousand!

goddamn I hate veterinary bills. Does anyone here have pet insurance? My cats are all getting on in age so I don't know that they're insurable, but after coughing up $1400 in one month for one cat, I'd like to do something to ensure that I won't have to do that for my other two in the later years.

one year passes...
You know what's fun? When your cat exhibits signs of illness, is in and out of the litter box every 5 minutes trying to pee, meows afterwards, generally seems distressed, so you take him to the vet to help him (and to alleviate your own worry), and they keep him overnight for tests and then call the next day to say they couldn't find anything wrong! And he seems great! That's fun.

I'm relieved, of course, but it just makes me laugh. And yeah, it could've been something serious (and more expensive), so I'm just treating the $100 I'm out (well, Visa's out) as a form of "insurance." Maybe he just needed some time away from home. I mean, don't we all. eesh, cat. He also gets new exciting vet-prescribed food.

I guess this is a revive to make me/other pet owners feel okay about things like this... Sigh.

Listen, I had a cat who was in and out of the litter box loads, couldn't pee, kept squatting in corners and was generally out of sorts. I took her to the vet and it turned out she had mega colon, which could have killed her. She had to have an operation and multiple enemas and was with the vet for a week. So you did the right thing.

mega colon sounds scary! wow. Yes, I'm glad I took him in. Just have to watch him for a while, see how it goes.

I had a kitty with that problem. His cat food was making his bladder full of crystals. We had to get him special kitty food, and he is indeed a special kitty.
