My girlfriend hates ILX. This is clearly going to be a problem.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 10:49 (twenty-three years ago)

i keep telling mine about stuff i read on here, she is kinda nonplussed but i wouldnt say she hates it, haha

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 10:52 (twenty-three years ago)

my girlfriend has no real opinion of ILX other than that i spend too much time on it and talk about it too much! she doesn't mind, though. it's not like i stand her up to spend time on ilx, heh.

i think ilx affects my college work more than my relationship. i don't feel any need to give it up, but i think i should cut down...

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 10:54 (twenty-three years ago)

There have been several points where I OWNED THIS THREAD.

I'll let you know when I have a relationship again. Soundartist Boy will NEVER know of the existence of ILX and that is final.

kate, Wednesday, 26 March 2003 10:58 (twenty-three years ago)

what relationship?

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 11:04 (twenty-three years ago)

I talk about it sometimes. I wouldn't say it affected our relationship though; he just goes 'oh'.

Archel (Archel), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 11:06 (twenty-three years ago)

OH, that post was awfully presumptuous of me. *IF* I get involved with Soundartist Boy, *IF* he actually likes me, etc. etc. etc. ... if that rare and weird case were to come to pass, in that POTENTIALITY, then I would never let him know of the existence of ILX. That's what I meant. Oh god, don't count your DDB's before they've hatched. Stop it stop it stop it.

kate, Wednesday, 26 March 2003 11:06 (twenty-three years ago)

this board effected my relationship.

toby (tsg20), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 11:08 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't have a relationship to be affected :-(

Laura never posted to ILM but did read it. I think it's when she started reading my posts that she suggested that we try for children...

Marcello Carlin, Wednesday, 26 March 2003 11:09 (twenty-three years ago)

what relationship?

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 11:18 (twenty-three years ago)

the one with the thing and the

di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 11:23 (twenty-three years ago)

Not really. I will tell a funny story from ilx every once in a while and Dan will think it's funny but that's about it. I think he gets more annoyed with my ebay obsession (yes, as a matter of fact I do need all of these 60s pop magazines with articles on Scott Walker!).

Nicole (Nicole), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 13:43 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes, WHAT RELATIONSHIP!

I'll invent one and give it some hard thought.

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 13:54 (twenty-three years ago)

Though maybe it's affecting my relationship with myself, I dunno, I bought Transformers: Armada vol 1 today and got a free mini-con, so it's all good.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 18:33 (twenty-three years ago)

The screamin' hordes of ladies lookin' for that good nickalurvin' keep getting in the way of my relationship with ILX. I say "back off biyotches, can't you see I'm typin' here!?!" but that don't shake 'em none. But t'ain't no biggie, 'cause nick luv dem hoes.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 18:43 (twenty-three years ago)

My girlfriend likes all the cat picture threads I send her and would like to thank the person who mentioned www.mycathatesyou.com

zaxxon25 (zaxxon25), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 18:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Fortunately, ILX doesn't have to compete with any jealous boyfriends, so no excuses.

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 18:50 (twenty-three years ago)

No. I only mention it indirectly: "I saw something on a music bulletin board I sometimes contribute to . . ."

Rockist Scientist, Wednesday, 26 March 2003 22:07 (twenty-three years ago)

i don't think ilx would make my relationship any worse than it is

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 22:14 (twenty-three years ago)

my gf does not dig ilx :(

chaki (chaki), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 22:22 (twenty-three years ago)

Well, so far it hasn't helped me get a relationship.

Chris P (Chris P), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 22:25 (twenty-three years ago)

Mr estela does not truly care about what Beryl at Dr. C's office had to say today, but I tell him anyway (sometimes more than once, I fear). He was a little bit excited that Kate's band supported the Bangles.

estela, Wednesday, 26 March 2003 22:37 (twenty-three years ago)

no relationship, but my friends are far less amused by my funny ilx stories than i am

Maria (Maria), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 22:39 (twenty-three years ago)

(I keep it a secret from her shhhh) though to be fair she'd probably just tell me to pull my socks up and go for a brisk run...then drink all my wine whilst I was gone.

Matt (Matt), Thursday, 27 March 2003 03:27 (twenty-three years ago)

we've reached an understanding re. ilx

(namely, i use it as my "escape valve" and avoid alcoholism)

jess (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 27 March 2003 03:29 (twenty-three years ago)

I would think this board might be good for a relationship. You get your mentalist tendencies out here so you don't inflict them on your S.O. Right?

gabbneb (gabbneb), Thursday, 27 March 2003 03:30 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah...that's it...

Matt (Matt), Thursday, 27 March 2003 03:32 (twenty-three years ago)

I'll let you know when I have a relationship again. Soundartist Boy will NEVER know of the existence of ILX and that is final.

yes, but it's not as though the existence of ILX is a secret you can guard. There are links to the board from both Freaky Trigger and the CTCL web pages, and googling your e-mail address produces ILX hits.

(why was I googling your e-mail address? errrr, never mind)

I for one look forward to Soundartist Boy stumbling onto the board.

DV (dirtyvicar), Thursday, 27 March 2003 11:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Argh. No, I just don't think he will, because he seems to have rather limited email access. I mean, I may tell/warn him when I know him a bit better, if things end up getting serious. I really do think he'd be flattered. But so long as I'm saying nice things like "Aw, he's so wonderful" and not TMI things like "Ooowwww, his beard gives me a rash!"

kate, Thursday, 27 March 2003 12:09 (twenty-three years ago)

I am going to spam the Guild Of Handsome Young Soundartists, inviting them to become regulars on ILX.

DV (dirtyvicar), Thursday, 27 March 2003 12:38 (twenty-three years ago)

Cut. It. Out. Because with all those Handsome Young Soundartists out there, how will you be sure you get the right one? then again, a mass invasion of ILX by Handsome Young Soundartists might be a VERY good thing indeed. Hrm, I'll get that spamming campaign for Str*nge Attr*ct*r and the like going now...

kate, Thursday, 27 March 2003 12:42 (twenty-three years ago)

**Mr estela does not truly care about what Beryl at Dr. C's office had to say today**

She's in fine form today, Estela. Shall I pass on my regards? Will update the thread later.

Dr. C (Dr. C), Thursday, 27 March 2003 12:47 (twenty-three years ago)

My wife could give a frogs fat ass about ILX. Even though after we make love I ask her if it was a Classic or Dud.

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 27 March 2003 13:44 (twenty-three years ago)

If it weren't for my bf, I wouldn't even know about ILX. MY Hero!!! *gush*

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 27 March 2003 14:03 (twenty-three years ago)

I just had a huge fight with boy & came to read ILX to try to distract myself. So I guess it' s having a good effect; otherwise I'd probably be emailing him, which isn't a good thing to do when I'm tired & stressed & still mad at him. :-(

lyra (lyra), Friday, 28 March 2003 03:49 (twenty-three years ago)

ILX affects my relationship with my schoolbooks. Therefore, I tell myself that I am through with ILX. Then one day I am bored online and decide to take just a quick peek. Then I rationalize by saying, If I just lurk and read once in a while, it will be OK. Then I start to post. Then I am trying to make up half a semester's schoolwork during study week prior to finals while on ILX at the same time.

webcrack (music=crack), Friday, 28 March 2003 04:28 (twenty-three years ago)

I reckon that if any of them were inclined to google my email, there'd be an issue, especially with the one I stopped seeing recently since I've posted publically that I slept with his brother. That'd be no good.

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 28 March 2003 06:22 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes Dr. C, tell Beryl 'ello and do update the other thread!

estela, Sunday, 30 March 2003 00:22 (twenty-three years ago)

My girlfriend doesn't read it, but she appreciates the occasional funny story and she used someone's lovely drawing of a cat from a 'Post Your Art' thread for a livejournal icon.

However, she did check it out when bored recently and do a search on my e-mail. She said she was kinda depressed as it chronicled the history of our relationship, and I mentioned her more times when she was 'friend' or 'ex' than girlfriend.

Jordan (Jordan), Sunday, 30 March 2003 23:30 (twenty-three years ago)

haha "relationship"

M Matos (M Matos), Monday, 31 March 2003 06:26 (twenty-three years ago)

one month passes...
Man! You know it's bad when it comes to THIS!. WHAT THE FUCK?!

I really shouldn't be here.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 7 May 2003 10:46 (twenty-three years ago)

Ha ha ha ha ha ha haaaa! That is the funniest thing I've read all day! Thanks for cheering me up. (Well, for a few minutes before the relentless pointlessness of existence hits me again...)

kate, Wednesday, 7 May 2003 10:52 (twenty-three years ago)

It's some sort of woman conspiracy!

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 7 May 2003 10:56 (twenty-three years ago)

It's also funny because this thread is the genesis of the term "Handsome (Young) Sound Artist" and the acronym HSA. Sigh.

NOW GET OFF ILX AND START WRITING THOSE VOWS, NORDIC!!!

kate, Wednesday, 7 May 2003 10:58 (twenty-three years ago)

have you deleted aim nordicz?

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Wednesday, 7 May 2003 10:59 (twenty-three years ago)

No. I won't. (Were you at Black Dice, julio?)

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 7 May 2003 11:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Besides, I don't know how to write wedding vows, I'm too insincere and sarcastic. Can I use puns?

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 7 May 2003 11:02 (twenty-three years ago)

Write: "I can't turn my face into a heart!"

Nicole (Nicole), Wednesday, 7 May 2003 11:03 (twenty-three years ago)

yes I was nordicz. I met toby there. you?

(anyway I'm going to the spitz on the 16th so i might see you there).

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Wednesday, 7 May 2003 11:18 (twenty-three years ago)

I got there late, but I didn't see you! I definitely want to go to the Spitz, so I will look out for you once again. ;)
