i saw this last night for first time when i was by clissold park. it makes me happy. i would have liked this bus when i lived around there, but i am disappointed that it goes via highbury new park and highbury corner. i think it should have gone via gillespie road and drayton park.

i love that bus! it's having a few teething troubles tho - not enough trained drivers to make it properly regular really :-(

the route is great. the highbury corner - church street etc connection is bee-yoot-iful.

i was in clissold park on sunday when it was lovely, and it was, yes, lovely.

Gareth, you are SO predictable. My favourite new bus is the 205, though, the Rat Run Congestion Bus.

Can I just mention HOW FUCKING ANNOYING the buy-your-ticket-first rule for the new bendy buses is? I mean, do Transport for London not understand the concept of having to run for a bus at all?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 11:54 (twenty-three years ago)

Well lookie out Matt since this will be the rule on ALL buses come July (poss exception being conductor buses). Get yourself a book of savers NOW.

I liked the 393 ad I saw this morning which apologised for it being crap and not having enough drivers. It seemed like a bit of a funny route to me. I would have extended it to Archway (making it useful for me).

And my letter writing campaign sped up the wonderfully useful 205 (from when it was doing those stoopid loops round Kings Cross).

Will you have to buy a ticket for a specific bus, or will you be able to use them on any of them?

(Not that this bears any relevance considering half the ticket machines in London will have been robbed/vandalised by December anyway)

matt fears change

Alan (Alan), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 12:21 (twenty-three years ago)

As if anyone wastes a saver ticket on the bendy buses anyway.

not me (starry), Wednesday, 26 March 2003 12:22 (twenty-three years ago)

kate is bang on, the 205 rocks...well it would if i could ever actually find one but i like the idea that you can finally take a bus from Paddington to Liverpool Street, even tho the tube would be a lot quicker (unless it stops between every station thus giving me THE FEAR in unparalleled quantities)

alix swears by it but i don't like the windey all-round-the-houses nature of it's upper clapton service (purely for time reasons)

vita susicivus (blueski), Monday, 15 January 2007 11:04 (nineteen years ago)

on friday i was on Grays Inn Road just 5 mins down from Kings X. and then from the south approached not one but two 341s, lost and perplexed. i flagged the first one down at the stop despite it not being a 341 stop and we ended up heading onto york way, then wharfdale road, right onto caledonian road and left onto pentonville road before they both finally got back on track at Angel.
