A Brief History of Irony: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b03bpv42

I didn't know if I should post this on the HEY JEWS thread.

Anyway, I'm sure everyone has their own idea of what irony is and its history.

I remember when I was a full-time troll, user Jesús once called me out on it, and said my irony was 60d-1!k3. Who am I to contradict such a person.

But as years have gone by, irony has become a strange mix of things for me. I don't use it nearly as often, but when I do, I can't help but ROFL. Then I feel my subconsciousness opening and revealing a meta analysis that is really quite hopeless and still half-hidden from me.

For example, I recently read an ironic joke and replied with an ironic piece, after a really long time. It was a very long response. But I took it too far, which my friends and I always did. But it was our preferred style of irony.

It is probably easily Googleable, so I won't say too many details of it, but I placed myself in a site which was dedicated to X-knowledge, knowledge I really lack, but these group of people were discussing Y-knowledge, which I happen to have studied a lot. There was probably one person with a lot of Y-knowledge within this group, as well, and my irony went over his and everyone else's head, because he probably thought I was serious, since I was in a site with X-expertise.

Kind of feels ridiculous talking about it all.

"Irony is a weapon, not a look. So, watch out. I'm gunning for you".
