My sister has to sneak into her room with a mute on her violin to avoid him. If he finds out she's practicing, he's very insistent on joining her in the room and howling along. When he's doing his whole aroo-aroo singing, his ears are up and he has all the body language of a happy dog.
So no, you're prob not torturing the dog, he probably likes singing along to higher pitched music. Really.
My friend has a bird that loves heavy metal. She'll get very worked up until someone gets her out of her cage and on the perch near the stereo.
