London Indie NYC Benefit Night

Maybe out of a need to do something instead of just freak out and worry all the time, I've started to try and get volunteers to do the little one-off charity club night I mentioned. I'm trying to get as many people in the London area as possible to take part, and have set up a YahooGroup to discuss it. The Group is called LondonIndieNYC and you can find it by going to:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LondonIndieNYC

I want to get a night done within one month of today, if I can. Then all of the proceeds can go towards trying to help people in New York. It probably won't make a huge difference, but I need to do something. All help appreciated.

Pau, I have joined up. I am New Yorker who was planning on staying in London for a little while longer, but now what? Who knows. After Friday, I am done with school, so any help you need, let me know.

I'll send out a mail tonight, when I get home from work. Just get as many people on the list as possible for the moment. Since the Betsey remains the most viable venue I guess we're looking at October 12th, a Friday. But then the students are all back and it's a bit colder, so it's a good night to do.

Will be in touch - have to pretend to do some work now before I'm fired!!! :)

I have amps & decks (if you forgive the pun) and might also be able to help with a very student friendly venue (if they are still talking to me over at ULU).

We've just booked both floors of the Betsey Trotwood, which means we need twice as many decks and PAs as before. The date will be Friday October 12th, so start telling people. Nothing else sorted yet.

And let's not forget Washington and the Pittsburgh area. Lots of deaths in each place and each place should be thought of. Wrong to concentrate entirely on NYC when it's not the only place that's suffering. Profits to umbrella help organisation = good.

OK, must dash.

Looks like the Red Cross will be the charity we choose, as they're working across the US.

Steve if you're reading this - how about donating profits of next week's club to the RC too?
