The Dream of the Lego Smashing Pumpkins

It was a strange dream, I was in a toy shop looking at the Lego sets, but there wasn't much choice. So, I left, and came back a little later and the shelves had been restocked. After a little searching around I came across a Smashing Pumpkins Lego set, and was quite annoyed that the Billy Corgan figure had hair until I realised that I could just leave the hair piece of.

What is the significance of this dream? Should I be pitching the idea of Lego sets of your favourite bands to the Lego company? What bands do you want to see Lego-fied?

Yeah, I know Kubrick have Limp Bizkit, No Doubt and I think Kiss sets, but they aren't the same.

This is a marvellous vision!

Don't forget the Lego Drum Machine for when Lego Jimmy Chamberlain falls off the wagon.

NA (Nick A.), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 15:54 (twenty-two years ago)

I agree! They should come with different bodies you can switch out with different outfits on them (you know, like the more alternative hippy-ified BC and the all black BC...). Also, they should include an extra piece to fill on drums whenever J1mmy is too high to play.

x-post!

Dreaming about bands is always fun. Once I dreamt Pulp were drawn against Anderlecht in my Sensible World Of Soccer UEFA Cup tournament.

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 15:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Rob I kiss thee.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 15:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Kraftwerk would be ideal for lego-isation too, I think. I would so have Kraftwerk playing in Jabba's palace.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 15:59 (twenty-two years ago)

woah, that's kinda freaky kephm. I must track down some pictures of this playset.

Thanks Ned. I knew you'd appreciate that...

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 16:03 (twenty-two years ago)

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 16:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I know, and the Billy Corgan has hair! wtf?

I do like their amps, though.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 16:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Honor the T-shirts.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 16:17 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd also like to have lego Good Charlotte, is this wrong?

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 16:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Only if you want to recreate the rumored couplings.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 16:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Suddenly Miccio's love for that band has assumed a strange Fleetwood Mac air.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 16:33 (twenty-two years ago)

If they did a cover of "You can Go Your Own Way", I would probably turn into a rabid Good Charlotte fan.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 16:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, but that just makes me think of the Seaweed cover from Them Grunge Days.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 16:36 (twenty-two years ago)

But imagine the video!

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 16:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Ah, now I sense your evil genius.

also, in news of being guided by my inner mentalists, I was cataloguing some books and typed:

microorganisms and their prospects (instead of their properties)

now, I dunno about you, but "microorganisms and their prospects" would make for a great song title!

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 16:44 (twenty-two years ago)

you don't know me at all!

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 16:46 (twenty-two years ago)

that's odd. one summer back in high school a friend of mine and i got really bored and made a stop animation lego music video for "today" that featured a hairless billy in a black shirt with a white 0 painted on. in between scenes of the band playing on a stage to a moshing crowd (full of pirates, astronauts, and the like), the main character of the video (just some random sapless lego) fell in love, witnessed his girlfriend getting run over by a car, visited his girlfriend's grave, kicked over the tombstone, and commit suicide by jumping off the side of my friend's stairwell. at the end of the video, a pirate ship was chased through the moshing crowd by a shark, who ended up eating everyone in the crowd but the band. ahhh, those were the days.

Felonious Drunk (Felcher), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 17:28 (twenty-two years ago)

obv. you need to put this online

HAMBURGER NEURON GROUP (ex machina), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 17:28 (twenty-two years ago)

That sounds like the greatest video ever.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 17:29 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, felonious, that video sounds awesome, especially the shark bit.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 17:31 (twenty-two years ago)

my friend kept the only copy and i havent spoken with him in 2 years, but i'll ask him about it if i ever see him again

Felonious Drunk (Felcher), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 17:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I MUST SEE THIS.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 17:54 (twenty-two years ago)

one year passes...
I want a lego Bon Jovi and a lego Bon Jovi jet. They could rock out in the lego football stadium.

Oh yeah, I have this great idea for a new toy. Details to follow.
