if the alarm went off for so much as a single ding, i think we'd all have to go outside.
that's ridiculous, Ally. anyone else there you can convince to leave with you? it'd be far more difficult for them to reprimand you for leaving (when you SHOULD, but that's beside the point) if a whole group does it with you...
i second the OSHA angle. bastards. >P

Queue is going out the door, children are fainting etc)
Ronan:Excuse me, is anyone in this queue making a lodgement? Because if you want you can use the quicklodge machine over here instead of queuing.
Customers:*blank looks*
Ronan:Is anyone here making a lodgement?
Customer #1: Oh I am
Customer#2:Me too.
Ronan:If you want to come this way you can use the quicklodge machine instead of queuing.
Customers:*indecisive animal noises*
IT'S FUCKING QUICKER YOU FOOLS. Some day I want to walk out there and throw a really patronising parent style tirade like "I'm in there answering calls from fucking idiots like you all day who've lost their card or tied their shoelaces together and then I come out here to try and relieve things for you, and let you use the quicksave, AND WHAT DO I GET? INSOLENCE, thats what. your father will be disgusted".
(I love the bank)

We are so short-staffed and today I think I said helloaljfcfajbncjajcajcajscjbasducajschjasbronanspeakinghowcanihelpyou about ten thousand times.
Anyway when callback armageddon sets in circa 2, ie when noone who i took messages for has got called back by managers and they all begin calling me back, I suspect some of them hang up at the sound of my voice.
Maybe this is paranoid but it's very rude, I want to dial them back and ask them how they think they'd feel, or tell them to stop making prank phonecalls.

The best was when they finally joined me outside and this one guy said, "Oh, I left my housekeys upstairs" and tried to go back inside, only to be furiously rebuffed by the fire department. (The FD wanted to condemn the building. As it was my last week with the company, I was deeply amused.)

i have beer now, last nights leisure time pool playing was just more agonising concentration so tonight I'm going drinking in the local public park to bring back the halcyon days of being 15.
