A recent discussion with real people in the real world threw up the following question, what is a hosebeast? There are many whose very careers hinge on this question, passed down through the ages.

I thought they were supposed to be somebody who is ugly and skanky -- for example, Steve Albini calling Courtney "a psycho hosebeast".

Not that I think Courtney is necessarily ugly and skanky, but I thought that was the context of the term.

I thought it was a female beast as hose = tights and other forms of hosiery as mainly worn by women.

i thought it was originally orf of Wayne's World, where Mike Myers calls Lara Flynn Boyle a psycho hosebeast. nice image, whatever you make of it.
