jel -- (jel), Saturday, 19 July 2003 17:51 (twenty-two years ago)

can't you buy these in the shops anyway - the Lego Star Wars thing?

http://www.foundrydx.com has some cool Lego Mecha

stevem (blueski), Saturday, 19 July 2003 17:53 (twenty-two years ago)

You can Lego Star Wars, but this dude is making customs, and they really are great!

jel -- (jel), Saturday, 19 July 2003 17:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Though, one slight criticism I would make is that the cockpits don't seem large enough to fit in a lego figure. So, 9/10.

jel -- (jel), Saturday, 19 July 2003 17:58 (twenty-two years ago)

what abt a lego elf

mark s (mark s), Saturday, 19 July 2003 18:00 (twenty-two years ago)

mark s (mark s), Saturday, 19 July 2003 19:27 (twenty-two years ago)

The Alphabet Wing Project is old news in the LEGO circles I frequent.

As far a mecha go, Mladen Pejic makes the best mini-fig scale mecha:

http://www3.sympatico.ca/mladenpejic/Mecha.htm

And Eric Sophie makes some insane large scale mecha:

Lego Auschwitz to thread

stevem (blueski), Sunday, 20 July 2003 17:27 (twenty-two years ago)

poor lego elephant

Millar (Millar), Sunday, 20 July 2003 17:29 (twenty-two years ago)

>Lego Auschwitz to thread

The LEGO Auschwitz was so lame. If you looked closely at the pictures, they weren't photos of real LEGO models, just photoshop jobs using LEGO textures. The "artist" couldn't even be bothered to put together a fairly simple LEGO building - this is why I hate modern art.

i always understood Lego Auschwitz to be a physically real model - have i been misled?

stevem (blueski), Sunday, 20 July 2003 18:08 (twenty-two years ago)

>i always understood Lego Auschwitz to be a physically real model - have i been misled?

Maybe there are several - it is sort of an obvious idea. The one I am thinking of was a set of box covers done by an artist 1-2 years ago and caused the usual controversies.

fletrejet, Sunday, 20 July 2003 18:35 (twenty-two years ago)

yeh i guess that was all it was. i remember laughing at it at the time in that 'so outrageous its funny' way people sometimes do.

"It puts the lotion in the basket or it gets the hose again!"

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 19 December 2003 03:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't think FAO Schwarz carries that one this year.

Allyzay, Friday, 19 December 2003 03:43 (twenty-two years ago)

...which is why they should call themselves F.A'HOLE Schwarz.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 19 December 2003 03:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I know why they're going out of business, seriously. They NEVER carried the aforementioned Star Destroyer!! What kind of business deals in this kind of tomfoolery, you know?

Allyzay, Friday, 19 December 2003 03:46 (twenty-two years ago)

It's that "Welcome to our World.." jingle that's always playing there.....it's driven them all stark raving mad.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 19 December 2003 03:49 (twenty-two years ago)

They got like 400 Lego XWings though, that shit is just wrong. I mean who cares? If it was 400 Lego Millennium Falcons, I'd understand, but this is just poor management.

Allyzay, Friday, 19 December 2003 03:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Anyone who makes me a Lego Castle Grayskull will be cured of AIDS.

Am deeply saddened that the link that started this doesn't work anymore. People at work used to my ways talked me down from the Lego Star Destroyer a while ago. I brought it up again just now having been reminded, I'm still not allowed. Bastards.

Kv_nol (Kv_nol), Tuesday, 29 November 2005 12:03 (twenty years ago)

Kv, people at your work are fools. You should talk to Mister Monkey, who would LOVE a Lego star destroyer to go with his Lego ATAT and his Lego super car thingy.

No I've got one of them to instructed to break a finger should she see me at any time with card in front of PC due to impulsive purchases in the past! Though I have known about this for months...

No, the storage... Won't somebody think of the storage! The death star would take up less space... NO! Get behind me ILX!

My little lego ATAT was used at a party by friends to molest a penguin statue I have. I've never looked at it the same way again. Coincidentally the neck is sodded so it constantly looks hangdog. Good. Sick puppy that it is!

OK, need help. I used to have a couple lego style toys. I don't think the blocks etc were compatible. They were major ships (naval and civilian) that were in a smaller scale than most lego things. A destroy was 6 to 8 inches long and it came with a small helicopter. Anybody know the brand? It seemed almost fancier than lego. Any ideas?
