anthony, Friday, 21 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Only if we have insecure bigots for soldiers.

Prude, Friday, 21 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Recall the last round of debates brought up that a lotta queers went into Intelligence because they could keep a secret or two...

jason, Friday, 21 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

to probably misquopte bill hicks, anyone stupid enough to want to go and be in the army oughta be let in...and yeah, like queers affect performace, oh my god, i can't slaughter this innocent women and children while thaat homosexual is watching...pfffffffff.

Geoff, Friday, 21 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

They can't swim, they nudge others whilst shooting, they attract enemy radar...

Only if we have insecure bigots for soldiers.

But we do

I once got into an argument with this crusty, macho vet who said that women couldn't serve in combat because they need to carry feminine protection products that need to be changed. I was amused that he was suddenly an expert on menstruation and absorption products...

Kerry, Friday, 21 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

SUrely absorbtion products would be useful for people who may be bleeding lots - ie people who have been shot. That said, women throw grenades funny.

Pete, Friday, 21 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Not everyone in the Army is an insecure bigot.

Richard Tunnicliffe, Friday, 21 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Not everyone in the Army is an insecure bigot.

Quite. So if we could keep the stereotypes to a minimum all around, perhaps?

Yes, both homosexuals and woman affect combat rediness, cohesiveness and overall effectiveness of our armed forces! our male soldiers are greatly destracted by female soldiers, it's a fact, guys cant help themselves!! admit it! so haveing woman there to descract them, cause jeliousy, and break up the unity of our soldiers is outragious. along with woman, homosexuals also destract, mainly in a negative way, but if thay can keep their hands where they belong and their mouths shut there's no problem! alothough the ultamite problem arises, the physical ability to perfom combat tasks in the military!! woman and even some men just cant cut it!! it a fact that a woman in her 20's to 30's has the same aerobic ability as a man in his 50's and it is also a fact that woman's physical abilities rank in the low percentile of males, and woman are still complaining!! gender noming has happend because feminist groups have bitched about not having woman in combat so woman get it easier in basic training and aren't expected of as much as men so how do you think theu are going to hack it in real combat? the answer is that woman are not trained by the same standards as men so they can't perform as well as men in combat because they weren't properly trained, woman are just let through basic and let through the rest of their training so the military can say that woman are in! but woman aren't held to the same standards as men because they cant pass the male standars! it is proven that in a study of males and females held to the same standards in basic training exercises only one percent of woman even qualify with the males? humm? i wonder why? these feminist need to stop argueing for so called "equal rights" because men and woman are not equal, we were born thart way and it's not gunna change! woman are made to reproduce and men are to support the family and protect it! let it stay that way! i think that woman and homosexuals should be able to be in the military, but not in combat if their physical abilities or their sexuality effects the unity and rediness of their unit! sorry but thats what i think! im currently in the united states army and have been doing alot of research on this topic, if you would like the sources for which i have got these facts, go ahead and e-mail me! i will be glad to!

Sorry my answer is so long!!

Candice, Friday, 14 November 2003 18:30 (twenty-two years ago)

it's a fact, guys cant help themselves!! admit it!

I think you're thinking far too highly of your attractiveness here.

"One drill instructor says he discovered a young woman sitting at Mass one cold Sunday giving a fellow recruit a handjob under the blanket spread across their laps. He ungummed the couple and because the Army's nurture and salvage policy prevented him from toss them out on the spot, he sent them to Bravo 1/28, the post's school for scandal and reform. Once there, the fox was caught at the same handiwork on the bus to special Easter Services. Given a third chance, she went on sick call, where a sergeant made the mistake of accepting her services. Only then was she asked to go home. The sergeant is now facing jail."

He ungummed the couple

My vocabularic world has been expanded immeasurably.

"Stop that up there! Don't make me ungum you!"

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 14 November 2003 18:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I read somewhere that in mixed gender units, there was a marked tendency for men soldiers to stay and look after wounded women soldier colleagues instead of CHARGING AND KILLING THE ENEMY. I don't know if this has any basis in reality or not. It does kind of suggest that all-women armies might be a good idea.
