I have my doubts.

Ugh, it looks worse than Battlefeild Earth, and I'd think the "Christian community" could make a better movie than the "Scientology community."

A Nairn (moretap), Saturday, 10 January 2004 03:37 (twenty-two years ago)

b-b-but disco dancing screen legend John Travolta!

petra jane (petra jane), Saturday, 10 January 2004 03:40 (twenty-two years ago)

where?

A Nairn (moretap), Saturday, 10 January 2004 03:42 (twenty-two years ago)

shouldn't it be "This movie will scare YOU out of HELL!" because, you know, there's no such phrase as "This'll scare you into hell!"

That little trifle aside, this looks great. Can't wait.

Aaron A., Saturday, 10 January 2004 03:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Does this one also star Kirk Cameron?

donut bitch (donut), Saturday, 10 January 2004 03:59 (twenty-two years ago)

has anyone besides me seen "Left Behind"?

s1ocki (slutsky), Saturday, 10 January 2004 05:10 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't hear that title without thinking of a sinister buttcheek

nate detritus (natedetritus), Saturday, 10 January 2004 05:15 (twenty-two years ago)

"There is a mole on her left behind"

nate detritus (natedetritus), Saturday, 10 January 2004 05:15 (twenty-two years ago)

hee

"For three American lawyers, the Rapture came too soon...."

Because everyone knows we're all going to Hell anyway, being lawyers and all. Why not 'for three American police officers', or 'for three American televangelists'?

webcrack (music=crack), Sunday, 11 January 2004 04:05 (twenty-two years ago)

i have read all of the left behind books (including the ones for kids) and seen the films

anthony easton (anthony), Sunday, 11 January 2004 04:19 (twenty-two years ago)

this guy has some pretty interesting analyses of the Left Behind books.

worth reading.

"One of the best rapture films of all time"? Heh. How many "rapture" films are there?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 11 January 2004 17:57 (twenty-two years ago)

oh my god, I think I posted that exact same image on a thread once

s1ocki (slutsky), Sunday, 11 January 2004 17:58 (twenty-two years ago)

and THAT is the best Rapture film of all time. But probably not one Kirk Cameron would approve of.

anthony kyle monday (akmonday), Sunday, 11 January 2004 18:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Somehow the thought these days of Mimi Rogers and David Duchovny engaged in carnality is just amusing. Like an instant early nineties flashback (for obvious reasons). Who would play the roles these days?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 11 January 2004 18:02 (twenty-two years ago)

I used to like that movie a lot, I wonder if it would hold up at all if I revisited it.

s1ocki (slutsky), Sunday, 11 January 2004 18:04 (twenty-two years ago)

A review that trumpets "Cool camera shots!" is pretty hilarious.

I got forcefed a shitty straight-to-video rapture film once in my churchy days. It was a load of bollocks about how you'd get barcodes on your person and yr head snicked off with a guillotine if you got left behind. Stupidest thing Ive ever seen.

Trayce (trayce), Sunday, 11 January 2004 22:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Does the video for Blondie's "Rapture" count? 'Cos that one is pretty frickin' scary.

Ernest P. (ernestp), Sunday, 11 January 2004 23:47 (twenty-two years ago)

"There is a mole on her left behind"

"How could I leave this...behind?"

j.lu (j.lu), Monday, 12 January 2004 06:26 (twenty-two years ago)

two weeks pass...
'Gone' is a very good independent film - makes you think about God and brings in apologetics.

Hey, you either believe in God or you believe in Time/Warner, Fox, Universal, Viacom, and Disney. Because these 5 corporations control 89% of all content in the world.

Movie Fan, Thursday, 29 January 2004 19:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I put it to you that your conceptions of theology and business are somewhat flawed.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 29 January 2004 19:24 (twenty-two years ago)

I feel like I've just watched an episode of Dr. Phil.

dean! (deangulberry), Thursday, 29 January 2004 19:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey, you either believe in God or you believe in Time/Warner, Fox, Universal, Viacom, and Disney.

Wow - life just got a whole lot simpler!

Thomas Tallis (Tommy), Thursday, 29 January 2004 19:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Thomas, I will choose to believe in you from now on. Please don't doubt me ho ho.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 29 January 2004 19:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Has anyone seen Kirk Cameron's show on TBN? It's kind of ... weird.

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Thursday, 29 January 2004 19:49 (twenty-two years ago)

this thread should be some great google bait for some time.
