I have this coat that I forgot was even army til someone was asking me about it yesterday. It's a German (West German, I'm guessing) winter coat, with a nice furry lining, comes down to about mid-thigh, warm enough for Chicago winters. Got it for only $20 and it's lasted me 5 years. I'll get sick of wearing it before it wears out.
My pops was in the Marines, so I have his old hat---which I lost, and then found, on the head of this guy my friend on I met randomly a week or so later. The moron wrote "BLUNT" across the front in huge letters. Also have a few other random stuff of his: pup tent, dress uniforms, a shirt, an ammo case, and this lil canvas pouch.

Anyway, it is of course Meet and Right to make clear that the Army exists solely to acknowledge the brilliance and wonder of the Navy. Yup.

I wasn't sure if he meant things or junk.

Your nervous laughter of acquiescence proves my point, Tombot!

I wasn't sure if he meant things or junk.

Or perhaps shit, as in the George Carlin distinction between 'stuff and...'

I used to take MRI(?) packets* with me when I went camping back in the earliest days of my outdoorsyishness.

*them sealed plastic bags with dried food & coffee & toilet paper & whatnot

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 02:16 (twenty-two years ago)

MRE. MRI is an outpatient procedure

ModJ (ModJ), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 02:18 (twenty-two years ago)

I like the idea of a pocket, dehydrated MRI, though.

ModJ (ModJ), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 02:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Ned, you sure it's not some other floating service? ;-)

Anyway, Adorable Dress Whites vs. I'm not sure what the army wears, but it can't be nearly as cute... hmmm....

lyra (lyra), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 04:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I have heard of this 'Coast Guard.' Anyway, about the submarine fleet...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 04:34 (twenty-two years ago)

ModJ (ModJ), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 05:27 (twenty-two years ago)

They kick ass and take names.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 05:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I used to have what was described in the shop where I bought it as a Genuine US Army Water Bottle. When i got home I discovered the word KOREA was stamped on it. When it got wet the word KOREA washed off.

MarkH (MarkH), Wednesday, 14 January 2004 17:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I want a nightvision scope. Can you get these in shops? Are they less than £5? I'm skint.
