Successes? Sceptics?

My little sister and I made a really basic one when we were little and used a coin instead of a glass. It moved really slowly but we got a strange name like "Rag" or "Jad" or something. The next day some kids who had also been doing it told us that they had got that same name (obviously, I didn't tell them the name first) so that was pretty cool.

I have friends who say they've done it and had much more exciting things happen.

My mom and I tried it over the holidays, with a set borrowed from the library (!). I asked, "Will there be a public assassination attempt on George W. Bush during the coming year?" After five minutes the planchette moved vaguely closer to the Yes corner, so I asked "What will be the name of the assassin?" We kind of got an R, but after ten minutes decided nothing else was going to happen, even after I'd begun deliberately trying to push the thing. Maybe it was defective.

I tried it out with some friends and it spelled out the work AZAZEL, then proceeded to summon demons of the Nerconomicon.

Kabala was more fun than the Ouija board.

I did this once with some dormmates my freshman year in college. A couple of the guys took it seriously.... there was this really mean girl who was watching the proceedings being snotty named Debbie.. eventually the Ouija spelled out "DEBBESHIT", to which Debbie got pissed and stormed off.

I did it and my head popped off and flew around the room headbutting everyone who got in its way. It was cool.
